My mom's hair came out great however when she gave me the receipt there was no itemization. She told me it was around $260 plus tip. For a cut and color. I thought that was a bit high. I walked into the salon and asked for an itemization cause this is kinda not what I sent her in there for. For some reason the salon convinced my mom to get a root touch up. Now I should say she did not need because her hair is ultra short. That was $85.00 plus highlights and an ombré. Last time she was on there it was a cut and color and she spent around $150. Her hair is so short she didn't need a root touch at all cause the color would have covered it. I was told that the stylist is what she is paying, for, she was a top tier stylist. They did not ask any additional questions nor was I offered a refund because clearly she was convinced she needed something she didn't. And look she is in her seventies and what it looks like to me is you took advantage. Had no problem. A coworker of mine had a similar experience where they charged $115 for a kid's haircut. I came in on a dreary wet Sunday afternoon soaked to the bone and tired. It's as if the doors were the gates to heaven and Jeff was god on the other side. I heard of a brand of makeup and I'm the worst at asking staff to help me. He immediately greeted me so politely and guided me to where I could find it. He helped me pick out my shade and informed me of other deals that day which of course I had to get. The store itself was nice and bright and very clean, everyone wearing masks. This experience changed my mood completely and my husband thanks you for that! All the staff seemed very friendly and were all helping people. I didn't catch the ladies name that checked me out but I was there on 3/28/21 at around 12.15pm. She was so lovely! read more

It's been a while since I've been here, but I was sure to keep my photos and remember to share my experience. I went here in August (before I started my new job) to get a cool blonde look with some roots showing - that was the trend for summer. My hair was already a golden ombré from a previous hair salon, so I figured with enough bleaching & toning, it wouldn't be an issue. I had the salon manager? I think... as my stylist (don't remember her name) and she probably kept my bleach in for 10-15 minutes. So my hair came out orange. I stopped her and mentioned that it was orange...not cool blonde and she immediately got defensive. She put a toner on so it came out gold. Not what I wanted, but it was better than orange. Got home, waited a couple days and washed with a purple shampoo (as instructed). And guess what...my hair was orange again. Also, after brushing through it, I noticed several spots in my hair that were uneven and looked ridiculous. After a week of calling ULTA corporate, I got my money refunded in full. I applaud ULTA for the refund. It was much appreciated and the customer service people at corporate were understanding. ULTA will always be one of my favorite stores for makeup!...Seriously...every time I go I have to buy makeup. Maybe it was just an off day for the salon - But my overall advice would be to keep going if you're looking for a good salon and don't want to worry. I first came in for a keratin treatment which left me at over 300 dollars. A risk I was willing to take because my usual person I go to left a salon. first impression not bad I had instructions after my treatment which I followed to the tea. 3rd day washing my hair yikes it smelled fowl. A week went by and after a nightmare I had about my hair I ended up calling the manager. Valerie was extremely friendly and helpful. She cared about my experience and voiced my concern to the stylists. She immediately booked a hair wash appointment for me and to see what the problem was next day. Figured out it was the smell of the keratin and not sure if I just had sensitive smell to it but was terrible burnt sun lotion smell. I asked maybe to take it out but the stylist Katherine gave me a wash/mask blowout and seemed to have fixed the smell issue. She took her time with my hair and I left the salon a happy customer. While the store itself is clean & generally well stocked, the service is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I went in there this evening to purchase a specific product. I needed some help. There was NO ONE around except for the useless cashier. I say useless because she asked me first if I needed help after I asked her if they had a particular item, but I told her to just point me in the right direction. After I got to the display, I realized I needed assistance in finding my item. I called out to her asking for help. No response & then asked if anyone else was around but no. So then I went up front & told the cashier I needed help. She said "just a minute". After waiting SEVERAL minutes, I gave up & as I was walking out, she says "Oh did you still need help?" I told her to forget it & walked out. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I don't plan on ever shopping there again. read more

I've been to this Ulta many times and never had a bad experience. When I go into a store, I don't usually expect employees to tell if I'm "obviously confused", so if I need help, I'll ask someone for it, even if they're "on their phones" or "chatting away". All of which have never been the case here! All of the employees I've seen working here are doing their jobs either checking customers out, helping customers in the Benefit brow bar station, organizing things in the aisles, or in the Salon. This Ulta is organized and clean, and I can always find what I'm looking for. I was once in a rush and needed to know where I could find a certain mascara, I found the nearest employee, and she guided me to it herself. I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to pay for my items, and all of the cashiers I've encountered have been friendly and attentive (and best of all quick!). I've also made returns here and they're just as good during those too. Parking is always easy to find, as there's a huge lot for only a couple of stores. read more

I'm here a lot and some of the girls know me from shopping there so often. The workers here are amazing and helpful and continuously help you. The cashiers are always super nice and are very knowledgeable. This is the only makeup store I will go to because of how great they are! The only issue I can see people having is a couple of the workers aren't very nice, and they don't approach you for help. If you steer clear of them though you'll be set! read more

It's a great store very clean great customer service but this review is for the salon. I have tried the salon twice now and have been overcharged and tricked into their pricing. The first time I went in I was scheduled for a styling appointment I asked the girl to use a flat iron to curl my hair (my hair tends to hold longer with this tool) which she said ok to but used a curling rod the whole time and then charged me more than what was quoted over the phone. The same thing happened again today. I have a "moneypiece" which is a thick highlight that frames my face. It has grown out about an inch so I called Ulta to see what it would cost to just get it touched up. The lady who works for the salon quoted me at $45 and said it would be a "partial highlight/root touch up". When I arrived the stylist didn't understand what I needed done so I showed her pictures of what my hair looks like when it's been touched up. She had a hard time understanding that I wanted just two small pieces of hair touched up which already made me very uncomfortable that she was obviously very confused. She then told me what I need are "accent highlights" and that it would cost double. I immediately said nevermind I'll go somewhere else. I let her know what the salon lady who booked me quoted me at and she kept insisting I needed to be the one to book it next time which was crazy. Between the lack of communication from the lady who booked me with the person who was going to do my hair and almost getting double charged again I am done with the salon here. All the bad reviews seem to be about to salon if you search through here and google reviews. I hope they get it figured out. read more

I'm really disappointed with the cash register girls at this place. (12/23/2019) Last night I was there with my 4 year old son and unfortunately he vomited by the entrance and outside. I was so embarrassed and felt bad for my son and apologized to the customers around me and outside. The customers were very compassionate and loving to my son and I and helped me out with water and paper. I was going to leave but I cleaned my son and went to return the item and do the shopping on another day. Well when i went inside I apologized to the sweet lady who was moping the floor in which she said is okay, when i was at the register returning the items 2 girls working was talking about the incident and mocking me while I'm standing there. One girl even made a comment on my reaction and what I had said when the vomiting happened. The ladies did not realized i went back into the store and yet did not find there behavior unprofessional. Im disappointed with Ulta and staff. I find that if you can make fun of me as a client i can imagine what else you talk about when other moms or young ladies that walk in and out of your store. Its sad that i received better treatment from customers than employees at the location. I did not ask for the girls name or created a scene since my son was with me and its unnecessary to do so. My son did feel bad as well and i had to talk to him even though accidents happens. my lovely ladies, listen up!!! here we go, ok? Ulta has gone down hill, since they first opened. i used to swear by ulta, not anymore. here's SOME of why! first off, they can't even stay stocked. i have been waiting for a certain item for a month, and it still hasn't come in. i keep hearing they can't control what comes in. seriously? make a phone call to corporate, let them know what you need. there are customers awaiting said items, well unless you want them to go somewhere else. speaking of which, i will be going to sephora in the mall and when i feel adventurous, dickson city! to me they have the better selection including fendi and pat magraph. pricey? yes...but at least i'm not made to feel i'm a valued customer and not just a dollar sign, like at ulta. yesterday, one of their new, unpopular managers, janelle, was running down in front of the customers at the register, on her mic, how much the different departments of the store was making. the make up section was low $700, so she was in a sense cracking the whip. i was gonna buy something until i heard that. it was a turn off. also, she is not the nicest person, and i didn't like dealing with her, period. she always has a puss on her face as though she can not smile because her face will crack if she does. the other manager, rosie?,( i don't quite remember her name) was alot more personable and helpful. more real and down to earth. she didn't shove the right side of the store down your throat, if you could only afford the left side. they would have a less return rate, if they wouldn't do that. honestly, ladies, if i did find something from the right side, unless i would die if i didn't get it that day, i would get it on line, on ebay A lot cheaper than ulta's price. case in point, i got an IT foundation for $18, instead of $38 plus tax! uh oh, i know they gonna hate me now, but i don't care because my lovely ladies, we all want to look cute, but not give up our first born to do it. just sayin'! Stinky customer service. Go to another store if you need to browse or get help. Nobody is walking around greeting people like sephora. Fragrance counters missing sticks for tester perfume and then many perfumes don't have tester bottles. Specifically asked for help and older lady working there advised me to just pick up, stick a finger in it and test the cosmetic products. Really? So after I gave her a funny look she offered a couple makeup sponges to test with. Sigh. read more

Terrible. I'm sure other ulta stores are much better but this one was awful. No one helped me for over 10 minutes. I'm walking around obviously confused and instead of seeing if I needed helped an employee walked into me and gave me a dirty look. When I finally flagged someone down they left to do something else. I wanted bare minerals starter kit they had 15 boxes of beige and no other color. They told me to go online I told them the only reason I came in was to find out my color and they seemed legitimately annoyed. Would not let me see more than one color or even look in the mirror. I asked about the brush they used and all I got was it was hers. Seriously, you sell pricy stuff least you could do was give me the time of day. read more

I'm between a 2-3 star review here but I went with a 3 because overall my stylist (NeNe) did a really good job; she's obviously very experienced and did an excellent job with a simple cut and style. However, my issue is with the scheduler/check-out person, Anthony, who gave me a 3 o'clock appointment when I wasn't seen until after 3:30 and who didn't apply the first time customer discount (25%) until I reminded him about it for the third time. I work in hospitality so I value customer service and it was poor (but probably about average for the Pocono, PA area). The price for cut and style, before the discount was applied, was $42 which is middle-range but I was happy with how the cut came out. read more

I hate giving bad reviews, but wow these guys earned it. A while back I received a coupon to try out the ULTA salon and I decided to give it a try since I was looking for a new stylist. I made an appointment and a few days before the appointment I got a call to reschedule. No problem, this happens, glad they called...However with the reschedule I went past the deadline of my coupon. When I got to the appointment they tell me they wouldn't honor the coupon, which I found irritating, but whatever deadlines are deadlines. However, when I was sitting down in the chair the stylist notified me she was a head stylist or something and her hair cuts where $20 more than I had originally been quoted. That was it I wasn't doing that. I asked to speak to a supervisor and one wasn't available so I decided to leave and deal with this another time. I never followed up, and after I had my little girl I decided to get a new style so I thought I would try again. I made an appointment, arranged a babysitting, and when I showed up 10 minutes before my appointment time I waited and waited and waited because no one was in the salon. There were two women sitting in the two only chairs in the waiting area of the salon who said a woman was in but they didn't know where she was. At 15 minutes past the start of my appointment (20 minutes after arriving) I walked to the register to ask if anyone was working the salon. The lady at the counter was instantly responsive and called someone to the salon. I walked back to the salon where I met the woman with the appointment slot after me. She was talking to the stylist about her hair. When I approached the stylist asked if she could help me and I explained I had to 12:30 appointment. She looked at me and said, "because your late I'm not going to be able to take you." I explained I had arrived at 20 after 12 but no one was around, and that I had gone up to the front after waiting 20 minutes...The stylist got a little flustered and said no problem I can squeeze you in between the coloring treatments for my next client. As I was considering it I thought to verify the price because of what happened last time and guess what....this stylist was another head stylist and was $10 more than I was quoted when I made the online appointment. Since I really didn't feel like being "squeezed in" during someone else's appointment, was just a little pissed about once again having the cost changed on me last minute and super pissed I was paying a babysitter for all this I said I'd call to reschedule since I was looking to get more personalized attention. The stylist offered to reschedule me and got offended when I again said I would call. She then asked me again to reschedule and I told her I'd call since I didn't really think I was even going back I'd just call. I was leaving the store when I decided to let someone know what had just happened. I asked for a supervisor and Lisa came out to speak with me. She explained they were having issues with the online booking system and the prices often were different because when stylists cover shifts for each other you pay them by their status not by what you were quoted. She went on to explain that the girl who was suppose to cut my hair at the quoted price was late because she was stuck in traffic on I-80. This amused me since I also sat in that same traffic and had been in the store for almost 40 minutes...however...I went on to explain I didn't care I was a new mom paying a babysitter who also sat in traffic and still didn't get a haircut. In the end Lisa said she'd give me 20% off my next salon visit. However, she could not produce me with a coupon, or gift certificate she just told me to call the store and ask for her, said she'd remember me and would make a note in the computer. I explained I probably wasn't coming back again, but thanked her for her help. GO TO ANY OTHER SALON. I'd be afraid what they might do to your hair.... read more

Had individual lashes put on specifically because I would be going out for the next couple days and was not in the mood to apply strip lashes everyday. The lashes were supposed to last at least 2 weeks but they started coming off the next day. This was a complete waste of my time and money bcus by the 3rd day the lashes were completely off and I ended up having to wear strip lashes anyway. Not to mention ulta now charges for the lashes separately whereas before the lashes were included in the cost of the service. I will never go back. read more

When I first went in to Ulta to get my hair done it had been a year since I'd done anything with it. I saw a wonderful stylist named a Brandy who asked me what vision did I see for my hair. I informed her I wanted to go a lot lighter just because it was easier to maintain with all my gray hair and she listened to my concerns. Needless to say by the time I left her chair I felt like a new women my hair was soft and lite in color and I was so happy with the out come. I have found my new favorite place to go and get pampered and I couldn't be happier! read more

Can not say my 5 visits were wonderful, far from it. I am not a make-up person and really wanted some help, but could not find a sales person to help me. I went to the front registers, but the two employees were too busy checking cell phones and each other's hair cuts. Out I walked. Went back the next week after work and had a similar experience. Went a third time for color and a cut. Good color and cut, but felt as if I was sitting in a back room employee lounge for the shampoo. Yuck. Did go back two other times for the salon since I liked the cut, but can't get past the "employee " lounge feel. Stylist eating lunch, laundry going, chemical smell...... The salon services are not cheap, so this atmosphere is unacceptable. Will not be going back. read more

Once, the girl was nice, the second time, which was today, she seemed annoyed and bothered to point me in the right direction. So I always go to this Ulta because it is better than driving to Allentown. When you're being helped for the most part everyone is nice. Today I asked a lady a question and she didn't give me a direct answer and just kept on walking and talking with a coworker. Everyone on the floor not including the register area was just into talking to one another & not the customers. I was in the store for about 35min and they just kept watching me. I felt like I was stealing then realized that's why they were watching me. I had my 2 yr old son with me. Then what confirmed it was a worker was talking to a customer by the register and they said something in Spanish & the lady walked out and look towards my way and said because people like to steal in Spanish. Mind you I'm 100% Puerto Rican, but very fair skin and light eyes. & my son is 1/2 polish so we don't look hispanic. Very unprofessional and so displeased. They could of just offered me help if they thought I was taking something. I gave two stars because the young lady who processed my exchange was very nice. read more

Today I got my brows waxed and tinted at Ulta's Benefit Brow and beauty bar. A few weeks ago I had my brows waxed at a salon in the Lehigh Valley and they took too much off of one side, leaving the arch uneven. So, I thought a good wax and some tinting at Ulta could fix them. I have to start this out by saying the only reason this is a 2 star review and not a 1 star review is because my beautician was wonderful. She was kind, we had some great conversation, and she didn't try to push a million products on me that I don't need. So, needless to say, I had high hopes for the end result. Unfortunately, I am less than pleased. Although she did slightly clean up my arch, she took a big chunk out of the tail end of my right brow, leaving them looking more uneven than they already were. And the "tinting" is not noticeable AT ALL. My hair color is close to black and I think she used a color much too light for my brows. As soon as I got into the car I had to fill them in with pencil just to feel comfortable going out in public. I would not recommend getting your brows done at this store, especially not for $28, just to leave looking worse than I did before. read more

Unfortunately if I could give them 0 stars I would. I booked an appointment online last minute requesting a hair apt for the same day. I was unaware that they call to confirm the apt since this is my first time getting my hair done in over 5 years. When I came in for my appt. (which I was on time for) The lady at the counter was rolling her eyes and giving me an attitude because I actually showed up for my appointment and they assumed automatically that I was not showing up because I did not receive there call. She said they took someone else and that I would have to wait because "I decided to not answer my phone" I tried to be understanding and just explained I did not think they would call and she continued to give me a nasty attitude. After my hair was washed I saw her go over to a co worker and she actually began to talk bad about me (She apparently did not realize I could see her through the mirror and could hear her.) Literally every single worker at the salon was rude and had an attitude. I just did not understand what there problem was. I will never ever return to this place. They didn't even do a great job on my hair it looked the same when they were done. Might I add that even the manager had a attitude! They seriously need to learn how to have proper customer service.
