Wow, I'm really surprised to see so many negative reviews of this Ulta! I'm pretty new to Ulta in general, but I've visited this location a few times in The New Normal years (a couple easy-peasy curbside pickups, and more recently, a couple in-store visits) in attempts to find the perfect combination of higher-end hair products to prolong the time between visits to my hair pro. These in-store visit have been 1.75 thumbs up, mainly because I'm over the freakin' moon excited to find that Ulta carries The Body Shop products in-store...LOVE!! I'm flippin' *obsessed* w Body Shop skincare, but not so much with their .com shipping & handling time since San Antonio no longer has a TBS brick & mortar (like, 6+ weeks of frustration & waiting, ugh!). Ulta to the rescue!! And so far, so good with available haircare choices. Between Matrix and Redken, Olaplex and It's a 10, I have a ton of choices to help create a great regimen. Downers: The store isn't exactly laid out intuitively, and it's a bit hard to find what you're looking for. Luckily, there are plenty of *mostly*-friendly employees very close by *at all times* (watching, shadowing, waiting for you to steal something) to help guide you in the right direction, LOL. Usually it's cool, but one silent, staring, following employee yesterday was really over-the-top about it and made it really uncomfortable and off-putting. Sigh. First and foremost it was unclean, used makeup crumble on the counter, not just 1 or 2 it was lip stick most used and place back in packaging, so look before you purchase. No one available to assist you. I had at least $80 or 90 dollars but customer service was horrible, I put all the items back and left. Will not be going back. This ulta is very friendly as quick to help, i went in looking for fragrance and it looks much better with the glass security displays. Didn't find the lip pencil i was excited for but i was informed truck is sent every tuesday so best bet for a full stock is after and i dont mind going back! not sure why there is lots of negative reviews the customer service is there and helpful inventory just a little behind. ***Salon Review*** I have gotten several balayage/ombré's done since 2015. I have never had such a horrific experience. I brought in my photos of what I wanted my hair to look like (my hair from last summer) and the Ulta stylist said she could take care of it and it was not a problem. I trusted her and she did a horrible job. I called in and sent the manager photos and she said that she could fix it. I showed the manager the same inspiration photos of my hair prior to her starting. Since she was the manager I trusted her as well. When I got home after the session with the manager I saw that the colors were not blended. There wasn't any transition, so it went from black to orange-blonde. The color is so bad around the bangs that putting it up only draws attention to how blunt the colors are. There are photos below. I hate posting bad reviews but had to let people know of the experience I had. The girls were nice but my hair looks like a terrible at home dye job. I called other salons to get a consultation to fix my hair. When I realized how much it was going to be I called back to the Ulta and explained to the manager I wanted a refund. She said it was fine so I did get a refund however it's barely going to cover the cost to fix my hair. read more

Went in a got my haircut by Destiny. She was amazing!!! I have been losing hair due to Covid and was afraid to cut my hair. She said it was growing back and since I switched to Salon shampoo/conditioner it was looking good. She gave me a beautiful haircut with layers. I love it!!! She recommended some different products than what I have and told me how to use them. She's a bubbly, beautiful girl that can cut hair. read more

My daughter asked for a balayage. She was heartbroken with the results. We went back & asked the stylist to address multiple areas, the stylist repeatedly said that's how it's suppose to look & told my daughter to "look at pinterest". The stylist refus ed to acknowledge any errors with the result. After that conversation, through tears, my daughter said she did not want that stylist to touch her hair again. We went to another stylist, before my daughter pointed out anything specific....the stylist pointed out ALL the areas that she saw needed to be "addressed". I will never set foot in an Ulta again! I went on my birthday to get a partial root touch up. The absolute worst experience ever. The girl guessed at my color so now my partial roots are very dark!!! She was very rough with me she had the water so hot it burned my scalp. I asked her if she can bring the temperature down, she said yes but never changed the water temperature. She scrubbed and pulled my hair so hard while she washed my hair, my neck is sore. To make matters worse when she was drying my hair she kept hitting my head with the brush. My neck and my head still hurt! I mean why would you allow someone like that to work there? I will never go back to any Ulta because of that. read more

I've never been to this location and only use Ulta for curbside pick up. When I went to pick up my order at 10:20am I parked outside and called the store and they told me that curbside pick up order dosent start until 11 and that she couldn't bring it out to me because she was the only one at the register and her manager was talking to with a customer so she couldn't leave the register unattended. Their was no mention on the site or the email that I got when I got notified my order was ready that curbside pick up starts at 11 even tho the store opens at 10am. Or No notices on the doors or anything about the pick up time for curbside orders. So I had to go inside and get my order which defeated the purpose of not wanting to go inside in the first place because I wasn't about to waste my time just sitting outside till 11 so they could bring my order read more

Chiquita did such an amazing job on my haircut and color. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted besides wanting dark brown hair and a haircut from a picture I saw on their wall. I am so sorry to see some not so good reviews. My experience was stellar. The store is very clean and organized. All staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. Benjamin cut and styled my hair and he was super. This is my 3rd or 4th haircut with him and he is consistently great. I am always happy after Ben cuts my hair and I actually WANT to be seen out in publuc afterwards because my looks so great. I feel very confident when he is finished. He is also super sweet and very kind. He had not seen me in 5 mobths and he asked me about my son who has been ill. Give him a try. I know you will go back. He wont pressure you to buy their stuff. I am not someone to normally bother with writing a bad review but since this is my second terrible experience with Ulta salons, I felt compelled. I had an appointment for 11am and after 20 minutes, my stylist still hadn't arrived. I asked the staff if they could contact her to ensure she was en route. After initially being told no, a manager attempted to call her to no avail. After 30 minutes I left the salon. The worst part was they were taking walk-ins while I was waiting. At no point did anyone offer to see if someone else could be scheduled today. Instead, a salon manager is supposed to contact me in a couple days to reschedule. Unacceptable! read more

Never again will I come to this location. This is my 3rd, terrible experience here. Only came here cause it's convenient. Came to get a new foundation and setting powder, when I asked an associate for help. She needed to finish her conversation with another associate that lasted a good 3 mins. While another customer was waiting for her help. On top of that they were talking about gossip about another customer. Very unprofessional. THEN on top of that when I was trying to check out. Miranda messed up my roots the first time and she had me come in the 2nd time and they where still super yellow and brassy , i wouldn't totally recommend not going with her or the ulta salon ! I walked in for a haircut and Amanda at the salon was so wonderful. She fit me in right then and there and was super careful about keeping my length and trimming my dry ends. She was 100% sure to make sure my haircut was just like I wanted. She was very sweet and kind and patient with my thick hair. The price was also affordable and they use great products on your hair.
