I would give this place zero stars if I could. Ulta hires girls fresh out of beauty school and it shows. I love ulta's products and their brow services (go to Alyssa!) but I had the worst experience here that left me in tears. I went in for highlights and instead Emilee bleached my entire scalp! It looked awful. I literally told her how worried I was to get my highlights done there and she assured me it's really hard to mess up highlight. Trust me, she did a banging job at messing up my hair! I ended up letting Alex fix my hair. It definitely looked better than before but wasn't something I loved. I really like shop here but this review is for eyebrow waxing alone. I tried the brow bar last night and walked away not very happy. When paying at least twice as much as most places, I expected not to have to go home and finish cleaning them up. I thought about going back today to have them fix them but don't feel like paying that much again for what should have been done the first time. I didn't find out until we was already started that this wasn't the normal person who does them. I would have rather been told to come back then have someone who wasn't good at it do the job. Hopefully the brow specialist is better than the fill in person. Update: 7/7/2017 I saw the brow specialist and unfortunately she mad my eyebrows so thin. That is the ONE thing I asked her not to do. I specifically showed her where I was growing them in and asked that they just be cleaned up around that area.... so here I am back at square one with pencil thin eyebrows!!! She spent more time trying to sell me stuff to draw them back on!! I have all that stuff already what I want is my eyebrows back!!! So from one extreme to the other!! This review is more for Alex in the Salon area. She worked on my hair and took it from eh to glamourous. Alex was great. She looked at my hair and walked me through every single step. We removed color, did some highlights and deposited color. She had ideas on how to achieve the look I was going for and was able to save the length which was awesome for me. My husband literally stopped in his tracks when I came home and that doesn't happen often. I feel super confident about my new 'do and look forward to seeing Alex again. Highly recommend. read more

Tip for those who visit this Ulta: there is no line or sense of queue. Literally the only Ulta I've been to that has zero sense of line order and queuing. Any elderly, entitled woman with no sense of those around her can and will cut you in line despite you making eye contact with the cashiers, as one typically would, letting them know you're there and the cashiers couldn't care less. They will serve those who cut first. You can enter the line in the front and cut, enter the line in the back and cut, curve around those who are currently in line and cut, and you WILL be served first. I was trying to check out and the first lady that cut I kind of assumed she was one that had a deal and wanted to leave and then come back to complete the purchase. But no, she was asked for her number in the typical fashion. When I saw another woman get in front of me in line, instead of they cashier saying, "Actually ma'am, OP was there waiting let me check her out first, the life starts there" she just let her waltz up to the register without a care and began checking her out. I knew the cashier saw me just waiting there because she was on the phone with a customer, we made eye contact, she said nothing to me (i.e. no "be with you in a minute", "sorry about the wait", "I'll be just a second", etc.), then went back to her register to talk on her radio. I just threw my things on the counter, then left. Absolutely non-existent check out system. Best way to avoid this idiocy is just order online and pick up. But even then they'll probably have issues with THAT queue too. Such a shame, because the girls working the floor were very nice. Oh well. read more

I came in on the 16th to get my hair colored. I knew exactly what I wanted and had a picture for reference. I do understand that red hair color is difficult to lift, but when it was said and done it looked nothing like what I asked for. I called the manager and let her know what had happened and she booked me to come in two weeks later. The two week wait was because she was going on vacation. I have been very patient, and with my two week wait approaching I was becoming eager to have my hair corrected. Today, the day before my appointment they call saying the manager that was supposed fix my hair is no longer there. I guess I am not worthy of them fitting me in to keep my appointment so I now have to wait even longer. When I told the lady that called me, she came across as though it didn't matter. Only told me they didn't have any openings until Wednesday. I made it clear that after my hair is done correctly, I will not return to their salon. I did not get my money's worth for my haircut. Infact it was the worst hair cut I have had in Lawton and that says a lot. Tina took the towel off of me before asking me if I was satisfied with the hair cut. ~She decided when the haircut was done, not me. When I complained about one side being cut more than the other she disagreed instead of fixing the problem. I went from telling her I have too thick hair on the sides and the back to getting more of that in the form of a mullet. Tina was late finishing up on her previous appointment because the last customer an elderly woman had to have a whole different hair cut than what Tina thought was asked originally of her. Just like my hair cut. I did not get anything close to what I asked for either. Every problem I had with my hair like it being to thick was only compounded with her hair cut. She talked about her other job at a nursing home for Vets. It really disturbed me because I did not come to the shop to be shamed because I did not want to join her mission at the nursery. I came to Ultra Beauty to get a haircut. Nothing more. I don't care what Tina does outside of cutting my hair. If she wants to help a Veteran, I was right there. I am a 100% total and permanently disabled Veteran. I needed a simple haircut and she could not do that. Don't virtue signal to a disabled Veteran about other Disabled Veterans. If Tina wanted to help a Veteran all she had to do was cut my hair like I asked. I needed like inches and 1lbs of hair cut out. How do people like this keep their jobs? IMO If it were not for this pandemic Tina would not have a job cutting hair. This is theft. If you want to pay $27.00 to have a hairdresser decide how your hair should be and ignore your requests than Tina is your hair person. Bravo Ultra Beauty. Fabulous store. Customer service was great, and the selection makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. This is my first experience with an Ulta store, since I usually do online shopping, but won't be my last. Associates were very helpful but didn't crowd me or bug me. Being followed around constantly is one thing that irks me with sephora, and I'm happy to say this Ulta store doesn't have that bad habit. I was able to relax and browse and request help on my terms. We were platinum members and card holders and then we moved to Oklahoma and figured we'd get the same awesome service here as we did on the Coast. What a disappointment. The shelves are dirty. Reps stand around and the customer service is terrible. Half the time there are no sponges to use the testers. They also don't give the samples that you can try out which is crazy...the other stores do. read more

HUGE Ulta store in Lawton with a great selection of drugstore and high end make up and beauty products. Staff are friendly and helpful and they even have a salon area in the back. I love that all their higher end products have testers out (which gives it a similar Sephora-feel) yet their sales are more deeply discounted than their higher-end chain counterpart. I ended up buying OPI and Essie nail polish - 4 bottles for under $20 - what a steal! read more

First time in the store today. Was looking for some contour/ blush info. I was helped quickly, not even one trip around the store and I was approached. I didn't get the girls name, but she had dark hair, bangs, red lipstick, and she was great. Her personality was on point and she knew what she was talking about when it came to makeup. I rarely write reviews but I had such a good experience here last week I have to. I had just came from Sephora at the mall where I got matched for foundation that turned out to be way too dark for me and too thick. So I went to Ulta hoping to find help. Nikki approached me asking if I needed help. I told her my dilemma with Sephora and she was sooooo sweet! She said she would match my skin with a good foundation for my skin type. And she actually let me go wash off that horrible makeup so she could start with a fresh face. She matched me with some awesome CC cream from It Cosmetics and some good skin care products from Philosophy. The fact that she took the time to help me so much meant a lot. Thank you Nikki! I have been going to Ulta for the past 5 years specifically for Benefit Brow Wax services. Benefit has specific standard requirements for this service that I have seen successfully implemented in Ulta stores in 5 different states that I have patronized. My experience on Monday, July 1, fell far short of the mark established by Benefit. The aesthetician did not clean my brows and most importantly DID NOT brow map my brows with brow powder to ensure that the brow was properly proportioned. She just jumped right in and starting ripping hair off. She ended up leaving my left brow pointed just like Count Chocula (best way to describe it) and the other more gently arched like normal. She took a full 1/2 inch too much off the tail of each brow which is a LOT. She didn't clean up around the waxing with tweezers (no matter how skillful the aesthetician wax simply will not catch every single hair and tweezing is a must). Last but not least, she did not brush and trim my brows and didn't even bother to fill them in with brow pencil or pomade per Benefit protocol. I paid $22 plus tip (because I am way too nice) for a janky brow job. A brow job of that quality could have easily been procured from any nail salon for far less money. I go to the Benefit's counter at Ulta for a quality service. It was an epic fail this week. I had to tweeze my pointed eyebrow to match the other myself and will need to DRAW in the tails of my brows to the proper proportional length for at least the next month. I'm super dissatisfied and will definitely call the store manager when they open tomorrow to inform her of the situation. The aesthetician's name was Bailey. Sweet girl but not well trained. Book with the other aesthetician at Benefit for best results. There should be very little disparity between Benefit service providers if properly trained. read more

I LOVE ULTA! I love the service here because sometimes it takes me a while to try on swatches of colors and look for what I want, so I don't like being bombarded by questions. The staff here are just helpful enough to give you advice and some air to breathe instead of breathing down your back waiting for you to buy something. Love all their products as always! I came here for the first time 3 weeks ago. I have a wedding coming up, and I wanted to prepare by getting a nice haircut leading up to it. I came in and got my haircut, which took 1 hour-I am a male in the military so this seemed extremely long- but i figured maybe she didn't have any experience with it, and with the help of another hair stylist managed to do a decent job. So I tipped her well (6$ for a 15$ haircut for first time customer) because I figured she would appreciate me as a customer. I showed up today at 4 PM for my scheduled appointment. At 4:05 she came out with another customer from the back and acted suprised when I was there. She then told me I could wait for 30 minutes or come back another time because she was running behind, and honestly she did not seem very sorry. I have dinner plans tonight but I decided I'd wait it out. I waited until 4:45 and she was still not even close to being done with the other customer, so I left. I generally think of myself as a polite, respectful and professional person and the way i was treated was unacceptable. I do the due diligence of washing my hair, arriving 10 minutes early and scheduling an appointment with my schedule in mind to find myself waiting for a service I am paying for, to being completely blown off.
