I have only come here a handful of times for pick up orders when my home store is out of products. Came here the week before Christmas and the pick up orders were overflowing. They had someone doing orders who was clearly new and sorry to say, had no idea what she was doing. One lady was helping her but by asking her questions and the girl still was lost. She took forever to find the lady in front of me's order. She asked for her ID two times, at least while I was there, and the other lady, in my opinion should have just taken over. For me, she didn't even know that it's search my last name. She realized when it was my turn and another worker was there who stepped in and was finding the stuff. I used to work at an ulta, and I know how hectic it can get but I don't think it's smart planning on management's part to have someone inexperienced/new. Sephora has all the testers attached to a device which makes it easy. You don't have to call for help and wait. And God forbid you want to test several. Many of the shelves are missing testers and stock. I was also told in order to make a return I had to go to the original store it was purchased at. The product still had its cellophane on it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On Novemer 7th, 2024, had my makeup done by Paulina. She's an excellent consultant and very friendly[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Only issue that I personally didn't like from my visit was the fact that the makeup used on me was from the testers found on the floor. I'm very skeptical when using products that have been used in other people. In order words, would have prefer if they have tester sample or if they could have used the applicators instead of applying the product directly on. Wasn't expecting this but then again this is the first time i have ever had makeup done professional. This is just a feedback , in case someone else had the same experience I had. I regret to write this review. However my past couple experiences with Ulta salon have not been pleasant. Perhaps I've just expected better since I've been going to the salon at Ulta for over 2 years with no complaints. The most recent experience had to have been the worst silk press I have ever received. Despite the stylist sharing stories to back up her expertise in kinky/afro textured hair, the execution of her work showed the latter. My roots are super course and my hair does not lay nicely. This has never happened to me for a silk press service. The first red flag for me should have been when she put deep conditioner on my hair and didn't bring me to sit under the dryer. I had to remind/tell her that this is typically done under the dryer for my hair type. She said this conditioner doesn't require it but she'll sit me under the dryer at my request. While under the dryer I noticed it was not hot/warm enough. This added to the time as I had to get up and alert her. I realized she may have not adjusted the dryer to my height either to be able to heat it my hair sufficiently under the dryer. Finally we made our way to the chair. It took my stylist almost an hour and a half just to blow out my hair which she did unsuccessfully. It takes me 20 minutes tops to blow out my hair. She took about an hour to flat iron my hair. The total service took 3 hours! This is unheard of! My hair is about neck length. I don't know if it was due to her not applying the right products, not flat ironing close to my roots or if she was purposely trying to add time to her shift or if she just genuinely did not know how to do my hair. I desperately needed to get my hair done as I had an event coming up and didn't wait all this time just to leave mid service. The longest I've spent for a silk press has been 2 hours. This service was an absolute waste of time and money. She offered to repress my hair. But at the point the last thing I wanted to do was sit for another 3 hours at the hopes that she would get it right. I would have risked heat damage and missing my event. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Out of guilt and since she seemed like she was "trying" I reluctantly paid and rushed out so I could make it in time for my evening agenda.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If knew what I know now, I would have saved the name of the two stylist that did a fabulous job during my past visits and stuck with one of them. I literally had someone play in my hair and now I'm stuck with a stiff silk press and an awkward trim. YIKES! read more

I write this review completely on behalf of my wife who feels this Ulta Beauty is a long time coming in the neighborhood of Harrison. She was a regular to Ulta Beauty when we were in Minnesota and after we moved to NJ, we had to travel all the way out to Clifton location for her cosmetics or hair needs. We have been to this place couple of times already and it has the same essence of what an Ulta Beauty would always have, in terms of landscape and placements. We recently went to this place and was attended by Sara who was very good and wisely helped my wife choose her stuff. The price is always something that I've never bought into when it comes to this beauty place. But keeping that aside, this is definitely a good place for a woman's beauty needs. read more

I'll start with the positives. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I found the product I needed and the cashiers were nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now for the negatives. The price of my product was not labeled. There was a sign that a free tote would be provided with purchase. However, upon checkout, the cashier informs that they don't have the tote but I could return (no date provided) and ask for the tote with my receipt. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I selected on the checkout screen to receive my receipt via email AND print. However, I didn't receive either.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I realized immediately that I wasn't provided with any receipt and returned to the cashier. She couldn't reprint it because she had already rung someone up and receipts could only be reprinted before another customer is served.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Both staff tried to help me, but their system wouldn't allow a reprint even when I provided my phone number (which they ask at the start of the transaction to try to sell customers the store credit card).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So now I don't have a receipt in case there is an issue with my purchase and have to return/exchange and I can't claim the "free tote" they advertise but didn't stock when I purchased the item. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Corporate take notice and fix this computer/ receipt issue. Do not go here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They force you to sign up for a membership even if you don't want to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Exchanges or refunds are extremely difficult if you are not a white people. They sell used products and then accuse the buyer of using them. How could a buyer possibly use an item within seconds of purchasing it in the same store? It's a ridiculous and blatant lie. Even when you complain, they have no intention of resolving the issue or improving their practices. I've come to this particular location before and had the best help during the evening hours. Clearly, there's a different staff group during the daytime hours because my experience today awful. In fact, there were barely any customers in the store. Not one single person on today's staff acknowledged my presence, greeted me, nor helped me during my visit today. However, the staff practically bent over backwards greeting and helping the Caucasian women that came in behind me. I've had better experience at other locations. As an Ulta VIP member, it is very disheartening to have this location in my neighborhood with a staff that does not even acknowledge the presence of a diverse customer. read more

Great location! Finally a beauty store located nearby. No need to take long drives to the mall nor have to deal with parking. It's location has sufficient parking. Came on a Sunday afternoon. Was expected to deal with long lines, tight aisles, empty merchandise of favorite name brands and messy sections. You know, broken lipstick, smeared eyeliners, opened items etc. Unfortunately, that's usually what I experienced at most recent beauty stores regardless of its high end location. So, high five Ulta Beauty for maintaining this location at its best. Prices were visible where needed. Products are organized properly making it easy for customers to navigate around. Multiple chairs available for those getting personally beautified. The line at the register moved quickly. I was expecting to be greeted upon entering but wasn't. Was also expecting for an employee to ask if I needed help like most beauty stores do. Guess this one just doesn't do so. I went to get a balayage with a girl name Kristal, it was horrible. My hair looks like I didn't get anything done, (It does not look like a balayage at all) then the next two days I wash my hair and it was rough without volume. I was really hoping my hair would look nice, but it was a disappointment and waste of money. Update: I was contacted by the salon manager and was asked if I wanted to do a coloring correction, I agree and she gave me a date so I could go.The day before (Monday 18/2019)she call me to ask if I was going to do my hair, and I said I wasn't able to make it for personal reasons, she said she was fully booked for the rest of week. Employees there are obnoxious, I can't try foundation on in stores, I need to be at home with my own mirror and with my primer on first. I very kindly asked if I could have a small sample from a tester so I could try it on at home. I was told "Oh we don't give samples, go to Sephora if you want a sample." Im sure if the company knew their employees were trying to send people to Sephora they would not appreciate that. You cannot do anything with a sample product. it can't be resold or used for anything but testing the make up so it literally is useless to anyone, get over yourselves !! read more

The Cashiers are very nice however the Store Manager (bright red hair,gauge in ear) was extremely rude to a customer who mistakenly thought they used a tester hair spray). The poor girl apologized but the manager kept on being disrespectful and rude. I could not get past the .... aroma? Fragrance? Smell? The place smelled awful. I don't know what that was about. Did a customer over apply perfume, cologne, product to cover BO? Did they have a water incident causing mildew smell that was covered up by fragrance? I had to leave b/c it was literally making me gag. I hope they clear that up. The staff members here suck and they are very hard to find . I went in to the store today to buy some products for myself and friends and it first took me 10 minutes to find help and when i did she seemed to have an attitude i had to ask her twice before saying excuse me . Then after asking her about where something was she pointed and said in skin care like no shit since I'm here for a sin care product . After not being able to find what i needed i decided to just buy my friends gift cards as they will hopefully have the luck of going to an Ulta in other neighborhoods where they care about their jobs . The store is horrible, associates at the register keep on talking even after they see you standing there. I had a pickup order called in to make sure it was ready, was told yes we just need your order number upon arrival. Show up the next day and "for my own safety" I need an id to pickup. I stayed that I had called and they said no our policies changed a few weeks ago. Ridiculous, especially seeing how I was 8 months pregnant.
