I called the store to see if I was able to place some lipsticks on hold. Lauren was great. She helped me on the phone, picked out the lipsticks I wanted her to put on, hold for me and took my name and assisted me with an amazing attitude, and an amazing tone of voice I'm so excited to pick em up. Arrived at Ulta hoping to smell the Marc Jacobs body sprays. First there was barely anyone willing to help. Then they had no testers so you can't smell anything. All the scents I wanted to smell had no testers. Overall poor experience. I would continue to shop at Sephora. read more

Went in for a color match for an Ilia skin tint. I have extremely sensitive skin. I was told there was no ilia product that would match my skin and told the only match for me is Estee Lauder which was much more expensive. I specifically asked if it was clean makeup and she said it absolutely was. I bought it, took it home and looked it up on the EWG app. It was the worst rated for toxicity at a 9. Are these people working on commission or what? Will be returning it and will go to the competition for a proper color match and purchase. read more

Worst experience of my life! I' have came to this store multiple times for services & never have I had trouble until I came across their employee Ace! Worst ever! I had my hair past my waist line, I told him I wanted to inches off with layers! I ended up with my hair to shoulder length with no layers! And management or corporate did anything at all! I'm so disappointed! I wake up every single day hating my hair! On top of that he tried to add an extra charge that I didn't even ask for! read more

I LOVE this place finally a place we can go to here in this small city. Audrey, I hope her name is spelled correct. She was amazing! I had a surprise birthday party to go to with no makeup. Long story I HIGHLY recommend her she was so nice, patient, and she knows what she is doing! I shall be back read more

I was very surprised that the staff here are very knowledgeable with men's line for skin care. I was actually kinda skeptical because I don't know much about skin care and I needed to get some information on how to take better care of my face as I get older. The ladies here were very helpful and professional. They gave me tutorials and advice on how to apply the skincare products and routine. To make the experience even better...the stuff I bought wasn't even $60. I heard about the high cost of skincare but I left there with plenty of products under $60!!! I'm a fan! read more

Hey Yelp friends. I love, love Ulta! This location is close to my house so it is my go to when I want to go in and shop. They always have a great selection, it's clean, organized, and there are people there from the different brands that are friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help find things for you. I use many different brands depending on the product so it is nice to have some assistance. Plus, when you go in you find items you didn't know you needed. lol The girl from Clinique helped me find my shade in the cc cream, helped me find a water proof mascara I like from Lancôme, and then found the brow pencil I use by Anastasia. I should have took a selfie with her so I could remember her name. She was tall, young blonde and her makeup was on point. They are putting out all the holiday beauty deals right now so it's a fun time to shop in person. It was not busy the line moved quickly to check out. Parking is usually easy because it is a huge shared lot. There is always a spot to be found. Check it out! read more

I brought in my grandma with dementia to get her hair cut. Wendy made it an enjoyable experience, and treated my grandma with patience, grace, and humility. Had a great experience with Courtney helping me choose a foundation. She was very friendly, professional and knew the products.

I was hesitant to shop at this Ulta location after reading the less than glowing comments in a few of the Yelp reviews. Suffice to say, my experience here is was perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful when I needed assistance and prompt with their service. One of the staff helped me exchange something I purchased online and the whole experience was efficient and smooth. I will definitely shop here in the future. read more

Leaving this review because I have been to this location on more than 3 occasions & each and every time- the experience is pretty much the same across the board. Absolutely TERRIBLE service. As someone who is actually a beauty, professional, licensed, and all this is the problem with hiring people that don't enjoy beauty on the front lines... or people that don't like they do overall. That rudeness and care- less attitude bleeds over into the customers experience. Then you wonder why your sales are struggling. You staff doesn't know shit & they're rude. There's no reason that someone's coming in looking for a specific product that says it's in stock online & when they inquire about that product- because it's not on the shelf, you're telling me you don't carry it. ONLY when I say 'it says you do online' - THEN you want to call someone to look for it... instead of actually provide me some service & saying 'give me one second and let me see if someone knows if it's in stock.' They barely smile or speak. I shouldn't have to be the person to speak first, I'm the customer. But at the end of the day, regarding this specific Ulta I've made up my mind NEVER to spend money here simply because of the crappy service. If you don't like your job, find another one there are plenty of people who actually enjoy service & beauty. You all are a bunch of terrible front line representatives of an industry I'm actually in and it's GROSS. read more

Despite all the poor reviews, I've had nothing but great experiences at this Ulta, particularly in the salon. I come from CA several times a year just to get my hair done with Andrea. My family also sees her and agree she is fabulous. She is an excellent collaborator in terms of helping me figure out how to approach my hair color, and her skills are superb. I always leave feeling much better than when I come in. If you come to this Ulta for any reason, come to get your hair done by Andrea! In terms of the store, I only have positive things to note. Christian is extremely concise and helpful and helped recommend me a product for sensitive skin, making sure to give both luxury and budget friendly options. Staff kept a busy store and long line moving with smiles on their faces (which can be challenging, so I appreciate it all the more). It also doesn't hurt that this store is bigger, more organized, and carries a much larger range of brands than my local Ulta in LA. I hope current and future customers can have the experiences I've had at this store! read more

If you're a brown girl, I'd only recommend going to this Ulta if you already know exactly what you need and don't mind dealing with microaggressions. Before we even went in, my friend warned me that she had been profiled here before. I took her for her birthday since it was close to the mall we were visiting. There were at least 12 employees inside, and not one person greeted us or offered help as we wandered around. When we walked in, there were about seven girls at the front who just stared at us. Later, we got confused about where the checkout line started, and the two girls at the counter just looked at us while we were obviously trying to figure it out. The cashier didn't acknowledge us until another customer told us we could go ahead. She didn't look up once while checking us out or while making an account. If you want to feel seen and valued, especially as a Black woman, I'd suggest going elsewhere. But if you already know what you need and don't mind being ignored, then maybe this location will work for you. Honestly, it was disappointing. read more

The company has all the latest, new products just waiting to be released. I like shopping here and the staff is very friendly.

ear Ulta Guest Services, I am writing to formally report repeated unprofessional and disrespectful behavior by the co-manager, Marissa, at your Henderson, NV (Stephanie Street) store. During my most recent visit, despite spending several hundred dollars, I was treated rudely and made to feel unwelcome. I have also witnessed her speaking to other customers and even her own staff in a condescending, downgrading, and at times abusive manner. This is not an isolated incident--I have observed this behavior over multiple visits spanning several years. On this occasion, I felt judged based on my casual attire and lack of makeup on my day off. No customer should be treated differently because of their appearance. This conduct is unprofessional, discriminatory, and damaging to Ulta's reputation. As a long-time customer who regularly purchases high-end skincare and cosmetics, I am deeply disappointed. I will be taking my business to other retailers such as Sephora or Neiman Marcus unless this matter is addressed. I strongly urge Ulta to review her conduct and take appropriate action. read more

In reading reviews, I agree this store for whatever reason has the WORST cust svc. The only 2 mgrs who are decent & answers questions if you can find them are Claudia/Amanda. I had a make-up lesson withMorgan; arrived 10-mins early & was told she's running late as she's stuck in traffic. She showed up 10-mins late; no apology was given. I didn't make a big deal as I still wanted her assistance but hoped I'd get the full amt of time as this appt was purposely booked for an hour by the beauty bar assoc; if this was going to be the case I would of stuck to 30-mins but in the end, glad it was an hour. In making sure I was getting my full money's worth as anybody would at $60/hr is a bit steep. The appt ended at 12:55pm. Morgan kept talking about family, hugged me & then realized she still hadn't given me my ticket so, she stopped the clock at 12:57pm- lost 15-mins- ugh (10-mins late w/an apology & stopped 5-mins b4 1:00pm so I lost 15-mins total) & I still had to pay for it; duly noted. Mgrs keep a revolving door of customers- in & out, customers come in for their svc & leave just as fast. Mgrs keep stylists/make-up artists on a tight schedule- they don't have a lot of client interaction; they have to keep up clientele but they can't have clientele conversation as they're told to go go go. It's really about pushing product, getting you in fast & getting you out just as fast & moving onto the next. But when you're paying for a service you expect the full hr & not any less. In dealing with store associates, I've found it very helpful to do your research prior to entering (as other reviewers have said) because too much research in store ie compare products, check ingredients, etc you don't get help; instead they avoid you like the plague. At register: Why didn't I receive the full hr & explained my case. The checkout girl called over a mgr as she seemed perplexed. I know for a fact people who've booked appts in the past haven't received their full time just read reviews since the store has opened & recently 1 cust came back 4 times for they didn't have black hair dye, but they're a full svc salon? So, I know that these situations happen. The beauty bar mgr (minority, very tall, always wears a black suit jacket, has glasses & long braids pulled back). As she approached the counter, so did another mgr (short, all in black, very dark short straight/curly hair; glasses?) telling the taller mgr she's going on break. As I was explaining my case to the beauty bar mgr, I asked in a calm voice what "could" be done nothing more. The shorter mgr interjected herself & took over (she was nowhere around the beauty bar so not really sure how she knows when Morgan arrived and/or stopped). At that time, it was the very tall minority lady & Amanda thats it. The shorter manager says, it wasn't 10-minutes it was 5 with an attitude. Note: I've dealt w/her in the past & it wasn't pleasant then or now; she always has a chip on her shoulder, is very unprofessional & doesn't explain policies. She tells me I will give you the $10 discount with attitude. I said, I'm trying to figure out what you can do for 15-mins missed but instead of explaining she assumes & makes her own judgement call. Typical! And, with the discount you can NEVER have svcs at Ulta again- since living here for quite awhile this has NEVER been policy so why now? As what's happened in the past with a friend & other reviews, I'm fine with that but didn't want to start an argument with her as I had to be professional when she couldn't. Things get dicey...she says, you're never happy; every time you come in you find fault with something. I've been coming here for quite awhile & this has NEVER been said to me; guess she was having a bad day but don't take it out on a customer- leave your attitude at home. I said, if you're going to hire cust svc individuals you should make sure they have those skillsets first besides being able to carrying on a conversation with another employee as that really doesn't count or doing the right thing and put the customer first. And two, Morgan agreed that it's an exhausting process to find new hair products/make-up so there's always going to be a lot of returns b4 you find what works & everyone is different. Lastly three, she said, you never seem happy. I said, lots of things make me happy ie stores that treat customers as they should be treated, mgrs who know how to carry themselves in ways that set a good image for the store as a whole, but I'm not someone who's going to sit back & say nothing; not sure she would either. I said you have to take the good with the bad & vice versa otherwise you don't know what areas to fix. IF you can't do that then perhaps this isn't the line of work for you. She gave me my receipt. I signed it and said, thank you and I left. There are other stores that sell the same products as Ulta and after this I'd rather shop there. I will re-route my clientele, family and friends that way. read more

The associate who helped me was friendly and informative while I was shopping around, but once I got to the register and said I don't have a rewards account anymore, the gal was a little bit rude and dismissive. Let me start off by saying I have never had a decent experience here, until today. I honestly would not have gone if I did not have a gift card and needed foundation. But today was different! Marissa was incredible! She saw me looking around at foundation, and offered to color match me. Then I told her about my skin concerns. Last night, I purchased a gift card, which my dog mistook for a chewy toy. As the serial number was legible and the pin# still hidden under silver, I assumed the card was still usable, but definitely not suitable for a gift. This afternoon, (12/21 between 3:30-4:00 pm) I went back to the store with my receipt, which reflected the matching serial number, hoping to discuss swap-out options. The cashier was stumped (don't blame her; it was a weird ask, and she was very gracious) and called for manager consult. Manager arrived with MASSIVE attitude. I ask her what the policy is for exchanging damaged goods. "There isn't one." I tell her I have proof the card hasn't been used. "Can we just cancel it and get a new one?" "You can't buy a gift card with a gift card." "That's not what I..." And that's when she started talking over me, telling me, "It's not going to happen," and walked away. I understand that retail is especially challenging during the holidays, but there was no excuse for her behavior. It is unfathomable that you allow this person to be an ambassador for your "No room for hate here" branding. Knowing there had to be a fix for this, I stopped by your Lake Mead location, and what do you know? I was lucky enough to explain my sad tale to cashier/Customer Service Queen Mary, who laughed and said, "No problem. Let's get you a new one." She voided the first one and issued me a bright, shiny, festive gift-worthy replacement in under a minute. Not sure if I will continue to shop at Ulta, but if I do, it will never be at Stephanie Street location. Do better. read more

I got my hair done by Lauren. I have thick curly hair so I was nervous. She however did a fantastic job, I got my hair washed and blown out. She blew it out so straight I was able to wear it and not need to get it silk pressed. I left feeling very confident and happy. Bonus points she made sure to use materials and products specifically for curly hair and she made sure to be gentle with my hair so I didn't have any pain or discomfort (which can often be the case with having someone else do my hair). Lauren's service far exceeded my hopes and it was 5+ stars. I only took of a star because Ulta's appointment system isn't good. I made one online that was randomly cancelled. After I first made it I called to confirm the service I needed. The day of I called because my link said no appointment. Been to the salon twice. Andrea cut my scalp with her nail and drew blood, after having it snag in my hair & saying she needed a new manicure, but still chose to scrub my scalp. She grabbed a paper towel to dab at it and tossed the paper towel on her counter. The cut was great, but scalp scratch not so much. 2nd time Cassie said she would cut off a couple inches but cut off 5 and left some uneven bits. My hair went from midway down my back to a quarter of the way. That's way more than 2 inches. I'm devastated. It's going to take 10 months to grow that back. Cut is nice but too short & she didn't pay attention to detail like Andrea did constantly pulling hair up to make sure it was good. I said I was trying to grow it out, why would I want so much cut off. read more

Not that you're going to steal or anything " Yet on my way out I saw a white woman who had a perfume in her basket but not one employee reached in her . Now today on 8/212021 I went to return a setting powder and look for a perfume I've been dying to buy . As soon as I came in a woman approached me and asked me if I needed help . I said no thank you I knew what I was looking for . Then i saw two employees looking over at me and they sent another worker to come "help" me . Again I let them know I was fine and found what I was looking for . At this point I was annoyed and felt uncomfortable because this isn't the first time it's happened. I started to look at the hair products and a worker followed me to that area . I really don't understand why they felt the need to follow me around. New customer: made online appointment and have to admit was super easy. I received a recommendation to a particular stylist and was really excited as it had been 3 yrs. since my last haircut and was relatively new to the state. 15 minutes before my appointment I got a call and a text that my appointment was rescheduled to a later time due to Angela being overbooked. Annoyed accepted the change, however once I arrived to my new time I was again surprised that Angela was not cutting my hair. No warning or apology; Angela didn't even walk over to acknowledge the overbooking or inconvenience. I shop here a lot because it's the one closest to my house. I popped in here to Yelp just to see if The Salon had good reviews and I was shocked to see all of the terrible reviews centered around customer service. I have always had EXCELLENT customer service here, both when I have approached employees to ask questions and when they have approached me in the store to see if I need help. And, not for nothing, I sent my husband into the store last week to get my daughter makeup for her theater performance and they were VERY helpful with him also. read more

Leaving this review here as well in hopes the situation is handled and your team is better equipped to actively serve customers, rather than witness/gossip about drama I came into the store around 5:30 today and a customer was visibly upset at the register. The manager on shift had already began handling the issue and deescalating the situation. While this was happening the other employees on shift proceeded to watch and not help any other customers. I walked past several throughout the store and throughout the interaction and not a single person offered me any help or direction or acknowledged my presence in the store. Once the disgruntled customer had left, several employees moved to the front register to gossip about the interaction and those who did not join them upfront gossiped in their respective sections about the customer. I had hoped with the customer leaving they would be more willing to help and focus on other customers but the things they said about this person they know nothing about are disgusting and very inappropriate. And as some one who's shopped here for about the last 10 years, I'm so disappointed, I left empty handed and will not be back. And will be bringing my business elsewhere. No one should be treated how your employees treated this woman, as someone who works in customer service there will always be people who upset you, it's part of the job. But you have to be willing to look past that and understand they may have their own issues happening in their own life, and it's your job in that position (especially in leadership) to show that person enough respect to treat them properly That customer noted she would be writing a review as well, but as a bystander who also had an awful experience I do not want her experience to be swept under the rug as I know it will be. read more

This can be the Candyland for make up enthusiasts. The store is very well lighted and displays of makeup by brand line the store. There is a good assortment of brands ranging from your popular drug store brand like Maybelline to Urban Decay. If you know makeup, you would know that there are hits and misses from $10 brands to $100 brands. It's a mix and match industry, so don't be quick to judge on household names. The workers there, especially the make up artists, are super helpful and are very knowledgeable. There are two guys that work there and are both are professional and engaging. One of them gave me a quick makeover when I was looking for a full coverage powder foundation and I loved it. He also gave me very helpful techniques on eyeshadow application and which brushes to use to achieve the look. No high pressure selling or uptight attitudes here-just honest, experience based advice, and pretty make up to try on! There is also a selection of perfumes from Gucci to Philosophy. Prices are comparable to department stores though. In the back of the store is skin care product from (my favorite) Dermalogica to Neutrogena. At the end, I purchased the new powder foundation I was looking for along with several new brushes to recreate the look at home. Be sure to sign up for their loyalty card as purchases can add up fast. If you're not sure on a new product, be sure to ask for help from one of the beauty consultants. How you feel about yourself is the biggest beauty advisor though, so keep that in mind if you don't like something and have fun trying on new looks! read more
