I will definitely not use MAC products ever again for various reasons but for starters I went into the store on the 4th and the associate there acknowledged me, took my information, then said that an appt for my makeup may or may not be available. That's fair, so I get scheduled for Nov 5th for a photoshoot I was preparing for and she called me at my house an hour later stating thst she would be the only one in the store, and if I wanted to go to another store. I advised her that I wanted to stay at that store and she said well you may not get serviced if customers walk in. Now keep in mind, I did not want a Night glam, in fact I just wanted shadow, lips and bronzer because I do not like foundation. She said that's fine. Needless to say, I walk in on November 5th only to find out she was not there "apparently" and she called out, which was NOT true. I walked away and saw her walk out. Very interesting! Another associate helped me and let me just say, she was NOT the only employee. There were 3 employees on that same day! Pissed me off! I will never spend my money where I'm not welcomed! I ask for exactly what I use regularly, or call to hold it & they always have it discontinued. Shy Girl' & 'Shy Shine' lipsticks, the lady says, have been discontinued. I asked for my eyeliner & she says something smart back to me... No need to relive. After my eyeliner purchase, I called other Mac stores for my lipstick, including the Forum Shops & the guy says, 'Shy Girl' is not being discontinued. They had it in stock. Service here was so-so. Granted today was National Lipstick Day, there weren't too many peiple in the store when I went. One girl jumped to help as soon as I entered. She led me to what I asked for, then said she would be right back and disappeared. Really??!! Her bad because my friend and I bought well over $100 worth of products. After standing around waiting, a lady with short hair helped my friend and me. She was nice, but wasn't quite like MAC employees in L.A. She handed me lipstick and lip liner options and I had to apply them myself. Kind of strange because in L.A., the employees give options, apply make-up for you, and make sure colors/items match. We were first there that day as a walk in so she got started on me right away and though there may have been small interruptions, as expected, she never lost concentration of what she was doing to create my natural look that was requested. I used to use MAC exclusively when I was married because my ex husband used to complain about the "taste" of my other makeup. As a girl who doesn't make out with other girls, or guys who wear makeup, I can't vouch for this feature for the MAC brand. Once I became single again, I nixed my exclusivity with the brand because I found #1 it's costly and #2 there are better quality options out there. I didn't stop purchasing MAC products, but I definitely began to diversify my stash. Of all the products I've used from MAC, the only thing I can recommend above any other brand are their pressed shadows. The color and coverage is phenomenal. (Sue Devitt makes incredible loose powder rollerball shadows.) I've noticed that E.L.F. makes a better liquid liner that outperforms MACs gel liner all day, every day and is $13 cheaper. E.L.F. makes a better lipstick in the form of a twist up stick compared to MACs lipsticks. E.L.F. has a stronger pigment -a feature that MAC addicts love to brag about. Tarte makes a richer pressed powder bronzer but it is slightly more expensive than MAC - but a compact lasts 2x as long. One thing that MAC has going for it is their recycle program - bring in 6 used up MAC containers and get a free full sized pressed shadow or lipstick of your choice. I brought in 12 containers and got a free lipstick and a shadow. Unfortunately when I got home, I realized that the cashier gave me the wrong shadow as my freebie. Of all the colors that MAC makes, she gave me "black tied" - a glittery black shadow that I #1 already have #2 never use. Agh! There are no returns on freebies. This location is chaotic. The sales people aren't of the caliber of other locations. They're unorganized and their makeup looks a bit... Scary. I'd suggest another location and triple checking your products before the walking out of the door. read more

Just like Las Vegas casinos, the service you get at MAC cosmetics (or ANY MAC stores in the city) is really a gamble and just pure luck. I have a love/hate relationship with MAC. Love their products but hate their judgmental associates and they test on animals!!!!!!! I've tried to replace MAC with another brand but I've yet to find one really comparable. But that's besides the point.... Maybe this company got some funky weird "rules" about customer service but you are literally invisible to them if all the associates are busy. I'm not expecting them to weigh on me hand and foot, but a "hello, welcome!" or "we'll be right with you" will suffice. Least you can do is acknowledge me. If you don't look like a model, high classed prostitute or a nightlife industry girl.....you'll definitely be ignored. I never come to MAC to browse and see what new products are in stock. I usually know what I want/need to buy. Just give me my products, process my transaction correctly and smoothly and I'll leave you snobs alone. The Caesars Palace location is worse. But the Miracle Mile Shops associates were nice enough to welcome me in. read more

So, as much as I like to think of myself as pretty put together, try to be hip and cool, but when it comes to make up, I am a real make up virgin. Okay, perhaps not a virgin per say, but a novice, a newbie, perhaps a beginner wanting to migrate to intermediate. Primers, different brushes for different areas, strobe, pinch pots, bb creme vs foundation, wth? I'm pretty simple with the whole make up game, but do occasionally fantasize that I could put on make up and not look a french prostitute, and even though the talented make up artists at Mac know a thing or two about beautifying oneself through make up application, I often don't love the finished look of my painted up face. I must say though this last time, Christina was very skilled in the whole make up process. Having brought a friend in who is newly divorced and even less adept in make up than myself, I was so excited to see her all gussied up, fake lashes and all. I purchased a few items, will try them out, and as they say, practice makes perfect. Mac is a little pricey, but I do think some of their products are worth it. I have read they don't test on animals anymore, which is a good thing, I try to only buy products from companies that don't. Testing on furry friends is not cool. After reading the reviews, I was expecting bad customer service. I usually purchase @ Macy's but they don't accept Mac gift cards so I had to come to the store. I walked in and of course they were slightly busy( but it's MAC that's expected) I was greeted by both the manger and the other associate that was there. After it died down Jonita asked me what I was looking for I showed her a picture of a dress I had and wanted a dramatic lipstick to pull it all together.
