I am so fortunate to have an Ulta store not far from my home. My daughter and I love coming here and exploring the newest beauty products. Located off I-64 in Frankfort this location is one of my favorites. The store is always clean and organized. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Ulta has a wonderful rewards program so I always consider that a plus when I can save a little money using my rewards money PLUS you get a birthday gift!!!! Who doesn't love that!! They have so many brands to choose from in makeup, skincare, hair care and an in-house salon. This visit I had to get my newest obsession Black Opium Glitter. This smells like a sexy marshmallow. Went in around closing to walk up to the manager locking the door at 7:55 pm. I kindly asked if I could grab something real quick as I knew exactly what I needed and where it was located in the store, and was quickly reminded they closed at 8:00 pm. I rushed and got what I needed and was checked out and walking out the door at 7:59 pm. Overall, I felt it was rude of the manager on duty to make me feel like I was being an inconvenience. I began my career out of college as a retail store manager so I understand how late walk in customers can make you have to stay later than the 30 mins to an hour you're typically scheduled to stay after close of business, but I never vocalized that or made a customer feel like their business was not valued, big or small, at the beginning of the business day or the very end. I'll gladly drive to Lexington or Louisville now for anything I need at Ulta. read more

Ok. So Ulta has stepped up their game. (Thank you, Ulta peeps!) So the staff has started acknowledging customers and helping me find the stuff I need. The staff in the salon are amazing, especially if you are dropping by at the last minute or have a hair emergency. I have had my hair cut when it got too long and I started to want to get out my office shears and give myself bangs--which is never a good idea. Today they had the "hair happy hour" which was a free summer style. I got a side braid and loose curls which took Aimee all of 10 minutes but it would have taken me like 2 hours. Although I'll never go back to the salon here, the store is actually very handy. They always have a nice selection of make up and beauty products. The employees of Ulta Beauty are knowledgeable and helpful whenever I visit. read more

I'm disappointed with the work of the eyelash extension master!!! The eyelashes she'd built up on me started falling in two hours!!! You have such an expensive salon, but the masters are not at all poofesials of their business! You take that kind of money so fit! I'll never go there again and I don't advise my friends!!! read more

Great addition to Frankfort/Central KY! Ulta isn't quite Sephora but for the sake of this review I'm giving 4 of 5 stars comparing this Ulta location to Sephora competitors. I've visited this Ulta location multiple times and have always been satisfied with the customer service and knowledge of products. Ulta doesn't seem to carry as many higher end brands as Sephora (such as Trish McEvoy) but Ulta carries a diverse collection of make up, skin care lines, fragrances, hair products and hair salon/waxing services. ... I've not seen these services at Sephora but they may be offered. read more

Don't use the salon for waxing. They don't know what they're doing. Abby was awful. I told her exactly what I wanted and she asked me how to do it. Completely incompetent. You're the professional (supposedly), you should know how to do it. I recommend the Benefit Brow Bar. Just make sure when you call that you're scheduling with the Brow Bar and not salon, they won't ask which one you want and assume the salon. Everyone walking away from the Brow Bar eyebrows were everything I wanted. Abby made it look like I have two caterpillars on my forehead. I'm so disappointed, angry, and feel like crying. read more

The ladies there were very helpful! And the prices of the items i got were not bad at all! I love their rewards program as well. I did try to skimp and got some products of the same brand that's new to Walmart. It may be in my head, but the products weren't as good that time around. I got liquid eyeliner by the same manufacture at both places but they didn't seem like the same product....It's probably all in my head. read more

My Ulta of choice. Living in Georgetown but working in Frankfort it's always a delightful and positive experience when I go in. The staff is always helpful and they always have the products I need/want in stock. You can't beat their promos and I may pay a dollar or more more on some me items but it beats going to walmart for even the simplest of necessities. read more

So I stopped here after leaving a work function in Frankfort. I have to say, compared to the one in Lexington it is smaller, but cleaner. No one acknowledged me or asked it I needed help. Fine, whatever. The biggest problem I had was that they were out of 3 of the 4 items I came in for. They only had one item in stock and I was lukewarm about purchasing it. When I asked the SA about re-stock, she told me that they usually receive shipments early Monday morning, but they didn't receive everything this past Monday. Ok. To top things off, I couldn't use the 20% coupon for the one item I purchased. I will stick to the Lexington location next time. read more

To me, Ulta is to Sephora as Elder Beerman is to Macy's. They have some good quality products, and can possibly get you by for what you need, but if you're wanting tons of options, you're going to have to drive to Louisville or Lexington. The staff have always been friendly and helpful once you get their attention, but doing so can sometimes take a few minutes. But the reason I don't even bother going there anymore is that they are frequently out of what I want. My last visit, they were out of 4 of the 5 items I settled on. So, you go to the trouble of comparing the brands, finding the right shade, and saying, "Yep, I want this one," only to find out that the sample is all they have, and they're out of stock. They'll tell you that they have a shipment coming in a few days later, and they might have it then, but I want it now! Today, my daughter went in to replenish her foundation and its out of stock. In the future, I may go to Ulta if I'm really in a bind and willing to settle, but otherwise my first choice will be elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service. During my last visit it took 15 minutes before someone ask me if I needed help. Meanwhile the sales associate working the floor was busy fixing her makeup. Customer service does not compare to Sephora! read more
