I received the Cécred Scalp Revival, and it was extremely disappointing. Essentially, they washed my hair twice and applied conditioner. My stylist left me in the sink with the conditioner on for about 12-15 minutes, and my neck started hurting so badly I almost had to make a scene. The workers in this store are very prejudice. I went to pickup some items and they all refused to help me because I was black and the only black that was in the store. So I went up to the register to ask for help, some girl by the name of Hailey came out but once again in my face refused to help me and told the girl at the register to call someone else. I stayed for half an hour but nobody came, so after the long wait I walked out. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE IF YOU'RE BLACK. read more

Please don't patronize this Ulta. When I stepped up to the doors with my vested service dog (photos attached to see her professionalism and what a fab lady my girl is), I was told "no dogs allowed". After explaining to the door greeter, that she was a service dog, she got on her walkie talkie to her supervisor saying "She claims it's a service dog". She then told me "I need your card" which is illegal to ask for here in the US, and frankly is meaningless. (Some training organizations give you a plastic card saying that you trained at their facility, some don't. It's a catch 22) The only thing businesses can ask per the ADA Act or 1990 is 1. Is this a service dog and 2. What service do they provide? I told the door greeter this information and they said "Well, the board of cosmetology said that we need your card." Somehow, in her mind, the board of cosmetology outweighed the Federal Government and the ADA. Not how that works, pals. Anyway. I asked them if I could speak to her manager and step inside the small waiting area because it was very hot that day and I wasn't feeling great (I have a heart condition that is made worse by heat) and she told me no. I waited outside for the manager and she told me the same information. I had to provide a "card", which is illegal to ask for in the United States. She told me that The Board of Cosmetology told her all of this and because there was a salon was there that's why there couldn't be a dog. This baffled me. It was like because I have to have a service dog, she figured I hadn't had a haircut in 4 years, hadn't bought makeup, gotten a massage or gotten my brows waxed. She still wouldn't let me into the small waiting room to speak to her in the AC, until I showed her a tiny plastic card that was given to me from our training organization. I only showed her this because the heat was getting to me, so when I worried I was about to pass out; I pulled out a card from my training organization just so I could sit down and she said "Oh! You can come in and shop now!" I told her I had no intention of shopping, but that I wanted to explain ADA law to her. She said "I can go get you the cosmetology law" and shockingly, she couldn't find it. She returned and said "I gave my copy to the last person." (Making it very clear she had discriminated like this to other individuals with disabilities. She came back with a printout of the definition of a service animal. I was very confused. Clearly I know what a service dog is. I have one right in front of me. I encouraged the GM, and the door manager to learn from this experience. I left them with a copy of the ADA law and they were extremely unreceptive. Since then, I have spoken to the regional manager, the district manager and someone at corporate. They refused to provide me with any steps of re education for their staff. They said they could only give me assurance they were doing it and that they would not speak to me further and I could only contact their attorney. All I wanted was a quick slide of what re-education steps they were taking. Nothing. If you have a disability, or respect those who do, head over to Sephora. Don't ever shop at Ulta Fargo. They are horrible staff and horrible managers. They treat Canadians horribly, the women who work there are catty, rude and dumb. Do not believe what it says on their front door about inclusion. Manager would not discipline the 2 that were so unprofessional and rude and ignorant. They made horrible rude comments to all the other staff just for being questioned on products. I have tried to contact most of the women that I know that go to Fargo to shop, asking them not to support this store. Ulta's head office couldn't have cared less. read more

I have been twice to the salon there. And both tomes awful experiences. First the one stylist (Ashley) over-bleached my hair and i ended up having blue strains. I was told that it would wash out. Today, I wanted my hair curled. Ended up having my hair styled by another hairstylist (Hathaway). And my hair looked not as being styled by a professional but by a second grader. . . Waste of my money!! I could have done a better job at home by coloring and curling my hair. I think i will stick with my previous hairstylist who lives in another state but at least knows how to color and style a hair. I would not recommend this hair salon to no one!!!!! read more

I understand that most men don't buy their grooming products at Ulta, and it's likely even fewer by percentage do in farm country. The store can be forgiven for having such a tiny men's section. They carry Jack Black, which is good. They carry Art of Shaving, which is good, but then only in travel sizes which is very, very bad. After wandering for 15 minutes to even find the men's section, I found what I believe was the only masculine scented bar of soap in the whole store. Redken is very nice and appears to be French milled, so it lasts much longer than soft bars like Dove's Men +Care. Working so hard to find a manly French milled soap in Fargo? That sucked. Market demand prevails, though. I understand that and could order what I want online if I had to (though it's worth noting this store is cheaper than Amazon.com for the bar of soap I bought). What is unforgivable is how long I, a straight male, walked around a store clearly not geared for me with a confused look on my face and NOBODY asked if they could help me. I was walked past by at least five employees, and I don't have a poker face; to be completely ignored while obviously puzzled is unforgivable. If this review were based strictly on service, one star. That's it. It was awful. I'll give it one more star for being stocked and clean. I won't be returning and hope online ordering drives this place into the ground. read more

I really don't like this Ulta. I hate going in there because all the workers are just standing around and talking to each other and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Also, they should not be allowed to do their own makeup there, it's awkward for the customers. When someone does ask me if i need any help looking for anything and i say no, they always continue to try and help me which i find to be very annoying. I feel like this store does carry a lot of products now, but i don't like the workers or their customer service. read more

I spent a half an hour in the store and was going to buy $160 worth of products. I walked out with none of it. The chip on my card doesn't work and their machines don't have a swipe method at all and they had no other way for me to pay. Waste of time. read more

By far the best cosmetics/makeup store I have ever been to. The salon is phenomenal and their facials? AMAZING! The staff is so kind, and so friendly. I usually feel uncomfortable going to a new salon, but here I felt at home! She took better care of me and my hair than any other place ever has and I will be coming back in the future! read more

I used the Ulta in Houston regularly with zero issues, and even this store twice with no issues. Until today. Emily is a nightmare. Making a simple appointment becomes an exercise in me having to go through each day rather than her looking at the calendar and telling me what's available. And if you don't remember the stylists name from last visit you have to scroll through your texts until you find out what day you'd been there. Apparently your name is in the computer but no other information is- last appointment, stylist, etc. when the 'manager" Shelley called to "make things right" she actually made things worse. Rather than a simple apology and a "that's definitely not what we want clients to experience " I heard a lot of excuses and blaming the computer. She recommended that I call corporate HR. Good grief. She can't be super competent if she thinks it's HR's job to make a hair appointment and apologize for screwing up such a basic task, lol. read more

I love ULTA. They have a wonderful selection and a wide range of price points. I can get the cheap lip moisturizer that I use and the high end face cream that I like in the same place. The service that I've received has always been great at the Fargo store, with folks who are both knowledgeable and willing to help you find what you need, although they could probably use some training to solidify that as a corporate culture (management, please take this as a kind suggestion). I like their points reward program, but I'm not a fan of the hard sell on their credit card. I don't like store credit cards and would prefer that we not waste time discussing it every time I shop there. Other than that, it's a great convenience for me, and I'm happy to have them in our community! read more

Worst Ulta store EVER. Would definitely NOT recommend. All employees were standing around talking to each other when I finally said "can someone help me please?" I have received the dirtiest looks ever! Plus, the employee that helped me knew NOTHING about the product I wanted. When I went up to pay for a product I didn't necessarily want, this older lady at the counter treated me so poorly! I will never stop back again.. You will have better luck at Sephora and odds are they will have the products you want. read more

Love love love Ulta. I am makeup obsessed so I go here often. Compared to the other stores I've been to this one is at the bottom of my list. Great products and prices but the employees. Absolutely rude and judgmental especially the males that work here. They treat you so different if you go in with a full face or no makeup on at all and they treat their customers like they're stealing. I've never had someone so hot on my trail following me around the store before. They ask way too many times if you need help and don't leave after you tell them no. It's so intimidating to walk in because they're all standing around talking to each other and I've overheard some conversations about customers. They will hire just about anyone I guess I needed help finding a cushion compact foundation I asked a lady on the 'high end' makeup side of the store and she had no clue what I was talking about. She went to about 2 or 3 other employees asking what it was and they didn't know either! I showed her a picture on my phone and she said that's not a thing like ???? The salon inside Ulta is a terrible place to get your hair and makeup done. I went to get my hair and makeup done the day before my wedding and lets just say i ended up paying for something a 2 year could do better. The makeup was horrendous and the hair was even worse. I planned on doing my hair and makeup for my wedding as well, but i decided against that until i got a call the next day saying they would charge me for not coming in. I undestand its rude to cancel that many appointments less than 24 hours later, but it was that bad. I didnt want them to charge my card so i went with my bridesmaids and did our hair and makeup with the manager. The manager was decent but all our hairstyles ended up falling out, because they didnt secure the pins in our hair well enough! I only chose ulta because i did have a good experience with a girl who specialized only in makeup 2 years ago. Dont waste your time or money at the ulta salon.
