Salon hair dryers were loud and a bit annoying for my shopping experience. Plenty of store workers to answer my questions, but oddly only had one cashier available when 8 of us were in line trying to check out. I was in the store for about 30 minutes and not a single associate welcomed me in or asked if I needed any help. I witnessed multiple associates look at me and continue putting makeup on themselves. At the register I let the cashier know that no one helped me. She didn't even offer an apology. Very disappointing experience especially since I spent $300 without knowing if the products I purchased will work for me. read more

Placed a curbside pickup Monday midday and the order was ready within two hours. I ended up picking up my order around 6:30pm Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, the curbside hours are normal business hours, so I had to go in. However, the process was seamless as this location. Pickup is right next to the door and there was only one person ahead of me. When it was my turn, she asked for my last name, identification, and when she handed me the product to check and make sure it's what I ordered. She was friendly and told me to look around if I wanted. The store is VERY bright and clean. Always lots to look at and I can sometimes get lost in here. It wasn't too busy which is always nice because usually it's a busy place. I'll be back. read more

I spotted this Ulta Beauty store next to Five Below. I made a mental note to check it out, as I had never visited one in my life. I'm glad that I did. It was a mixed bag of snow and wind that day. When the snow died down, I left my hotel room and headed over here. It took me five minutes to get there by car. There was a ton of parking. I found a spot and parked. I then walked into the store. I am kicking myself for not dropping by sooner. The store was cool and impressive. It had products that I recognized and a bunch that were completely new to me. It was fun and eye-opening. It had products that I use regularly, such as Scunci hair accessories and Foreo face cleaners. There were new products that I had never seen, from a Touchland watermelon spray hand sanitizer, to Better Than Sex mascara. I'm wondering if Better Than Sex has ever been sued for not living up to its name... LOL! I love philosophy products so much. From shower gels to masks, they work well. Thankfully, I didn't need anything! You can book a hair appointment here. You can also get your eyebrows done, too. Pretty cool and convenient! The product that got me to make a purchase at this store was Red Carpet dipping nail colour. For years, I have heard about it, but never saw a starter kit before. I wanted to give it a try and picked up a kit. The nail polish section is impressive. I spent a long time looking at everything. I could live in this section alone! I went to pay for my nail colour kit. I had such a helpful, nice woman. She noticed my kit and remembered that some other dip colours were on sale. All discounted items are in front of the checkout area, but I didn't get to check them all out because I was next in line. This woman took me over to the dip colours. They were reduced in price by 75%. What a steal! I got two colours, which were a purple and subtle red. I signed up for Ultamate Rewards. I love the name! You earn points that you can spend on products down the road. I got a welcome offer, but I never got back to the store to use it. The woman put my goodies in a cute bag. I thanked her and left the store. I tried the dipping nail colour on the weekend. I did pretty well for my first try, with plenty of room for improvement. I do recommend putting down a towel or something, because shaking the powder off your nails does get messy. I was impressed how quickly the powder becomes shiny and hard with the activator and top coat. I am pretty rough with my nails. The colour has yet to chip off and my nails look shiny. It will be interesting removing the colour, as the nail colour is on solid! I loved shopping here. I already miss the store. I hope to return when I'm back in the area again. (29) read more

This Ulta was one I don't usually visit, but I stopped in yesterday on a mission to grab a few essentials. The staff I encountered were super friendly and I appreciated that they let me do my own thing without being overbearing/upselling. But when I was looking for advice they were super super helpful and I picked out a new foundation thanks to their guidance. Its very clean, well stocked, and a major plus - not crowded! It was very nice compared to other jam packed Ultas in the cities. I spent a long time in the store browsing. My only disappointment was that they did not have any baskets/shopping bags. Dropped by this morning, and actually was looking forward to somebody helping me find product that I needed, but the three people at the front of the store, the three employees that were there just couldn't be bothered to break up their jam session of sharing on each others Cell phones. I wandered around in the store for about 20 minutes trying to figure out on my own what I should buy, and ultimately gave up and walked out empty-handed. Most of the time when I visit an Ulta the staff is super helpful and their inventory has just what I need. This Ulta in Eagan was a big disappointment. I literally had to chase down a sales associate to get help... not sure if she couldn't hear me say, "excuse me" several times or was just ignoring me. And it's not like they were even busy. When I did find help, they were informative and friendly which is nice. However, the store looked rough. No tissues to wipe off test makeup and a lot of the items I was looking for were out of stock. When I finally got to the register with the items I could find, I had to wait in a long line before the one cashier finally called for help. I love Ulta but not sure I'll be coming back to the Eagan store. read more

I get my facials done with Kat and she is AMAZING! So friendly and personable and knows her stuff! I always feel so relaxed and so much better after I leave there. And my skin looks great of course. I was elated that an Ulta opened up near my workplace. I was pleased with the variation of selection of products! The Ulta brand of makeup was just as good as high-end brand. I ended up buying just their products! The only complaint was the staff was not especially helpful when I was seeking a certain product. (Possibly just trying to get in the groove of a new store). But the cashiers were extremely pleasant. I buy mostly online and the reward points help a lot if you shop there often! Recommend. read more

This Ulta is basically what'd you'd expect from any other suburban Ulta. It's in a smaller strip in this huge shopping center and very well lit, spacious, and clean. Plenty of parking, very standard business hours, a handful of milling moms and clusters of teens shopping around. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon to quickly pick up an itemI had tried three other beauty stores in the Cities to find. I was not expecting this store to have the shade I was looking for (as it is on the darker side and I kinda got the impression that the other stores only order the lighter shades.. ), but they had it! And as usual, I found myself wandering through the other sections just to see what might catch my attention. The makeup, hair, and skin sections of the left side of the store were all meticulously organized, even the stuff on sale. I ended up also getting some new moisturizer and some hair accessories. This Ulta seemed incredibly well stocked compared to some of the other one's I've been to closer to Minneapolis. Even though there were a lot of employees working, and none of them seemed particularly occupied, no one offered to help and check out felt really rushed. Overall, I would still recommend this Ulta if you're looking for a peaceful shopping experience and know what you're looking for. read more

Went for a shadow root. She dyed my roots lighter than they already were and sloppily applied the dye. Wish I could get my $55 back that I was charged to get a lighter color done when I asked for darker and showed multiple pictures. She didn't speak to me the whole appt & got dye all over my forehead and at one point on my eyelashes. Really disappointed that I wasted my money. read more

I had an amazing experience with this ulta salon! I went in with an awful color from a previous salon! Noel talked with me about all of my options and did exactly what I wanted and matched the color I was wanting perfectly! The customer service was perfect as well. Went in first time to get color done and my hair didn't take the way we wanted. So I came back a few days later to the same girl who was arguing with the other girls when I got there. Found out and confirmed that she had been drinking. I had three drunken voicemails on my phone by the time I arrived to the salon within a half hour time frame. She walked out in the middle of my re do apt and quit. Other girl finished my hair and did great. Got a call the next day and they apologized for the service, and asked if I would like anything. I said a gift card would be nice since it was an AWFUL experience, and came in the next day to a $10 card..umm I tipped more to the girl that had to stay late and finish my hair, and remind you I obviously still paid for my first time when it didn't work out well. Truly unacceptable. read more

If you are looking for a store with poor customer service this is your store. I'm not sure why they can't even say "hey we have a coupon for that" or "this is our latest sale item". This Ulta opened recently, so I was pleasantly surprised by how well the staff helped me, because sometimes it takes a while for a new establishment to get in the rhythm of the store. I've repeatedly come back to visit this Ulta and it is my go-to for my beauty supplies. I was looking for some fake eyelashes to try out for my prom makeup look. I had no experience with fake eyelashes so I asked an associate to help me. She was very knowledgeable and helped me find what I needed, recommending the right set of eyelashes and the kind of lash glue. I have a paler complexion, so black eyeliner typically doesn't look good on me so I generally just skip it altogether. However, I was looking for a good brown eyeliner for an event and the associate helped me navigate through the enormous selection of eyeliners. Once, I wasn't aware that the store was closing and I came in about 5-10 minutes to close. I work in customer service myself and I know that can be frustrating, but everyone there was very understanding and nice about it. There have been a couple instances where the employee I talked to wasn't necessarily welcoming, but nothing terrible. I usually try to make light conversation at the checkout, but pretty much every time I have checked out there, I have felt a little rushed and my conversation hadn't been reciprocated as I would have expected.
