Ulta Beauty - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Burlington, North Carolina

I went in for a root touch up first time going their never gotten a service done by a Ulta always a hair salon with people that have more experience in hair. I would honestly say it was the worst root touch up iv ever had I have dark brown roots and blonde hair and she took almost 3hrs just for my hair to have patchy orange spots around my hair I didn't wanna be rude and say something but iv felt so uncomfortable having that hair like that waisted 130 something plus a 15-20 for curling ?! No blow dry or nothing just after we were done washing and drying with a towel and leaving my hair feeling weird and all over the place and tangled I had no other option but to pay extra for curling cause it would've looked crazy and she even said I should book again for her to fix it and look "better" but no that's a waist of my money down the drain ! don't ever get a root touch up by Sydne p.! read more

Cashier was so rude! She didn't greet us or pay any attention to me as a paying customer. May as well order online next time.

They do not have any disabled spots in front of the store, so please keep that in mind. The parking lot does fill up quickly because it's neighboring Best Buy and Petsmart. They always have some sort of sale going on and always friendly service. The problem is that the online sales do not correlate with what's on sale in the store. The inside of the store is difficult to maneuver with a walker or wheelchair because the isles are small. The very rear also has some shelving that is blocked mobile shelving so it would be impossible for any disabled patron to go to any of those products. That's the area near the salon. Associate Eirika was very friendly and helpful. I suggest you order online and pick up for the best deals. They used to honor coupons that were a day old or a day ahead, but they do not enter codes for coupons anymore, and you have to do it all yourself. read more

I'm giving a few stars because the manager at checkout was sympathetic to my distress, though that was a bit too little too late. I was in the Burlington shop and approached by the hairstylist with a coupon for a service, and I said I actually wanted to get my hair cut and she said, I have an opening, let's go now. so, surprise hairdo experience. She was lovely and kind, but there were two major issues. First, I asked the price of the haircut, and agreed to $57. Then, she suggested putting in two foils of highlights and I said it sounded great. I did think it would be in a similar price range as the quoted price for haircut. But i get my bill and these two foils were $95.00!!!!! TWO FOILS. NINETY FIVE DOLLARS. I might have actually agreed, had i been informed, but i think it's shady to suggest what seems like a small tweak, without mentioning that the price is nearly twice that of the original quote for the whole process. it feels manipulative. and frankly, the haircut is a bit upsetting. I said, several times, "I part my hair on the side, only, always..." but was assured that cutting it from the center was the best idea. But guess what, one side of my hair is decidedly shorter than the other, who would have guessed? Moreover, the "bangs at the front are one length but there is a thick piece in the middle over the ear that is markedly shorter than the front or the other side. I mean, hair grows. life goes on. But i would hope for more. read more

Continuously the worst service ever. The employees are regularly engaged in combos with each other and act like you're bothering them when you ask for assistance. Every time I visit (for convenience sake), I tell myself it will be the last. read more

When checking out, I was asked for my phone number. I replied that I didn't give it out. I was then asked for my email address and i said I didn't give it out either. I was told by the cashier that I would not be able to return my items without that information or without using their rewards membership. At this point, she huffily rang up my purchases ($174), bagged the items and handed me the bag. I don't think I have to give out that information to buy at Ulta, do I? And, I found nothing in your return policy that said I must give out this information if I need to return something. I was surprised and disappointed by the actions of the cashier and the information she shared read more

All these old reviews are old and not a good representation of the current staff at all. These ladies are incredible, Ms Janelle is clearly doing something right. The store is so clean and so organized, the staff is respectful and helpful to each other and customers. Ms Erika now recognizes both my husband and I and makes it a point to ask how we are and if we need help, she is so sweet. Ms Janelle is willing to go the extra mile to offer tips and tricks and genuinely wants to help, she isn't pushy or salesy at all and is just as hands-on with customers as everyone else. I've been to Ulta's all over the country and this one has made such a wonderful impression. I'm so loyal to them, I refuse to go to any other location. read more

Horrible experience in hair salon. The "Master" there only one. She is rising her prices up during the service. The final result of her "Mastery" job is worst than when you walk in. She will refuse to fix what she is done and expect payment for her time!!! Keep in mind that the manager of the store will agree with her!!! And call you a "Theef" if you'll refuse to pay. read more

Rude staff. Not helpful. Drove 20 miles here for my wife and it was a bad experience. I could write more but I have nothing nice to say. Order your stuff on line from somewhere else and save yourself the trouble. read more

Seriously get some good management in this store. 15 customers in line to check out. And one check person at 10am in the morning. I only had one item to purchase and a very annoyed two year old from waiting 20 minutes. read more

Went to Ulta to get some stuff I always go to this Ulta but today some Elon girls decided to come in and they both cut in front of an entire line and the cashier just let it happen, while also having one cashier working while to managers stood and watched. First y'all help your co workers stop letting them struggle and making customers that have busy lives wait, second stop letting these Elon students think they run this town! It's so annoying... on both ends... read more

The ladies at University Dr. in Burlington, NC went above and beyond for me this evening. I put my order in pretty close to closing and was unaware they shut off orders to save then for next day, but since I was already there (missed the memo when they said they'd call) and they offered to shop it so everything was ready in minutes. I was so excited, they're amazing! read more

Went to Ulta today( 10-24) and had the best experience with the young lady over in the makeup section! She helped me find the perfect match for my skin tone, was full of helpful info. I wish I could remember her name. She deserves the shout out and definitely need more employees like her, especially up front. The sweet lady that had helped me also told me about a promotion that if you spend $19.50 in Ulta brand items you get a free bag with samples in it and she also reminded me of the $3.50 off coupon that I could use as she walked up to the Ulta brand counter with me, she showed me the free gift bag as well. So I picked out my items and finished up my shopping. When I got to check out and the girl scanned all my items which must've annoyed her to do so because she barked my total to me. I said I have a coupon and also wasn't I supposed to get a free gift? She told me they didn't have anymore. I told her I believe you do, the young lady that helped me just showed it to me( as I was pointing in the direction of the bag) which was behind the older blond woman who I think was the manger said abruptly WHO SHOWED IT TO YOU?? CUZ I DIDNT! I said no, it was the nice lady that helped me earlier and the blond walked to where I said it was and got the bag and told me in a snarky tone " it's the last one" then plopped it down on the counter. And walked away. Rude Rude Rude! But I should have known the check out wasn't going to be any different than any other time I've been there. I am a operations manager in a retail store as well and pride myself and my company on the best costumer service. I also sympathize with staff shortage and know that sometimes it can get frustrating so with that being said I'm ALWAYS as friendly as I can be to cashiers and food service workers. Ulta in Burlington NC really needs to do something different with the blond rude lady. And coach cashiers on customer service better. Maybe let the lady's on floor sales teach them a thing or two. I'm giving stars ONLY because of the bad service and how rudely I was treated as I checked out. The young lady that helped me deserves 5 read more

I love this store! It incorporates high end brands as well as lower ends. Very affordable place to buy makeup. The store is always clean and the employees are very friendly. I came here to search for a new primer due to oily skin. Every employee I passed asked if I needed anything and pointed me in the right direction. They will also help you find the perfect shade of foundation/concealer. There's always coupons available either online or associated with your account. Buying makeup from here is a must! read more

Today I came in for a brow and lip wax. These are services that I receive every 3 weeks and have gotten for several years, but it was my first time at the Ulta Salon. Today was by far the worst waxing experience I have ever had. While the associate was very friendly the waxing job was unbelievably poor. She waxed very little of my brows and lip. She missed large sections of both areas. The lighting in the salon near the shampoo station was very dim and I think that was a major issue. She went over the areas twice but honestly she did not seem to know what she was doing at all. Afterwards I had to go to a different salon and have a professional wax the same areas. When I told them I had just been to Ulta they were amazed that I was even waxed at all. The other sales associate that helped me find hair products seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciated the help and check out was a breeze. read more

I would rather shop online than deal with rude employees. Katie was insistent that they could not print a gift receipt and acted annoyed that I asked her for one. I would like to say this experience is unique, but for this price customer service is a must. Looks like I'll be headed to Sephora or shopping only online! On a second occasion that I found myself in store an employee on the floor was talking quite loudly about customers that annoy her. She can't stand customers who return items and it is sure it's because they can't actually afford the things they are buying. Not sure how this is appropriate for talking on the floor but she kept going on and on! Very distasteful! In addition, selection is ok. Many times they are sold out of items with the recommendation to shop Sunday or Monday when the truck comes. I just don't have time to plan my errands around their truck schedule. read more

This rating speaks only to the salon services and more particularly the "skin therapist" Destiny. She seems a little nervous while doing eyebrows. She waxed, trimmed, and plucked on eyebrow before doing anything to the other. Once she moved on to the second eyebrow, she realized they were not symmetrical because she was not able to compare along the way. She then had to go back to correct the first eyebrow which consisted her re-waxing. She plucked my skin rather than hair several times. I will not be going back to her. read more

I called my Local Ulta store in Burlington,NC Monday March 16th to ask about a price I noticed in the ad that didn't match the online price. I spoke with a girl named Victoria for about 45mins while she very kindly helped me with the issue. She was able to insure me that the price could be overrode and even held the product for me until I was able to pick it up the next day. When I came in the pick up my product I was very rudely ignored at the front counter by two employees for about 5 minutes while I stood there in silence. Eventually one of the employees named Michelle who also happened to be a manager turned to me very unprofessionally and asked what I needed. I explained to her about the product that was held for me and the price that it was supposed to be changed to. She then said "well that's retarded, what's your phone number." I took that extremely offensive because my sister who THANKFULLY was not with me, has Down's syndrome. I was already irritated for being ignored in a store that was virtually empty but that disgusting slur by that women was completely unacceptable. She also never even let me see the product I had to ask her to let me look at it. And when I did she slid it to me on the counter. I will never be shopping at this location again strictly because of Michelle!! Very very poor customer service from a "manager." She shines a very bad light on Ulta and their beliefs in equality. read more

On October 11 Michelle answered my çall with a very professional greeting. She was very pleasant

I have been buying Purology for about 14 years now and i always buy in bulk in ulta so I get the liter size shampoo and conditioner well i purchases their platinum collection shampoo and conditioner and came home after spending arpund 75 dollars a bottle to have my shampoo run out like water which means it has either been diluted or expired. I went to return it for a new one and they only had one and it was expired. Just to show them i was being truthfull i grabbed the smaller bottle of the shampoo and showed them the difference in consistancy they basically said they couldnt help me and i could go to another store well i came back two days later because they are the only beauty store near me and they had both the expired shampoo liters out for sale!! Someone is going to spend close to 80 dollars fpr an expired product and they may not even know it!! read more

I went in to ulta today, I should have done curbside pickup. As I was checking out I noticed many items were rang up more than once, so I wanted to be sure the receipt was correct. I left the store, checked everything in my car and decided to return just to be sure as some items rang up differently. When I was asked what the issue was I explained that I purchased two of the same item but in different shades and one rang up $5 more than the other. I told I believe the manager that I wasn't sure if it was correct or not. She then proceeded to tell me with an attitude that it was a different price depending on the shade. That is completely fine, however the staff was unfriendly and rude. read more

My wife absolutely loves this store. We prefer this location to the Raleigh location for the excellent customer service.

The salon has messed up my hair TWICE now. First, I came in to get my hair dyed from pink to black and she left so many patches undyed it was ridiculous and she really let me walk out like that and expected me to come back in a second time to get it fixed when it should have just been done the first time. Then I just came in to get my hair cut short and I was looking for some guidance on how I should get it and she was no help. Then she cut my hair shorter than I wanted and did a horrible job of it. She said she would give me layers but instead just cut my hair at random different lengths and made my hair go in all different directions and it just looks choppy and horrible. Plus one side of my head the hair is way shorter and it's very noticeable. Everything just looks so uneven and completely unprofessional. I also asked her to help me do something about my hair that had grown too long and was in my face which she ignored and when she finished my hair she just left a ton of hair covering half my face and sent me off like that. It looks ridiculous - do not get your hair done here. read more

I just went in here in the middle of the day, no waiting line, and several employees throughout the store, mostly helping guests. I asked the employee at the counter for the location of a specific product, and she was unsure, but stated that she knew they had it in the store. She walked me to an area, looked at the display, and then asked me to wait there. I waited in that exact spot for 10 minutes, before looking for her. She was back behind the counter, having never bothered to finish helping me, or asking someone to help me instead. Not great service. Thanks for wasting my time, I'll order it online instead. read more

I recently got my hair relaxed at this Ulta beauty salon, and Destiny did a wonderful job with relaxing and styling my hair. She took her time to make sure everything was perfect and I love the way my hair turned out! She even helped me shop to find some hair products to help me take care of my hair. I always have a great experience whenever I come here to get my hair done. The management and staff in the store are also very kind and helpful. Thank you so much! read more

Spent $76 for Christmas gifts and had a $5 off of $15 purchase but they have so many "exclusions" that I hadn't spent enough yet. Yes, I was told that i not spent enough to use the coupon. So deceiving. Told my daughter that we will never shop at such a deceptive company ever again. read more

I went into the store with only a vague idea of what I needed (foundation and maybe a lip color) I didn't need any help because I knew what brands I was going to look at. I'm putting three stars because a male employee was following me the whole time I was browsing. I'm not sure if he thought I was shop lifting or not, but he didn't say a word to me. It made me uncomfortable so I just grabbed the things I thought I needed and left. I've worked in retail before. If you think someone may be stealing or they might need help, please address them. I'm not sure if what I grabbed was what I needed, I just wanted this employee to get away from me. read more
