Love their options, but customer service has a lot to be desired. I needed to return something, but they wouldn't take it back even though I bought it there and it was defective. It's also kind of over-staffed sometimes; I get sick of telling twelve workers that I just want to browse new makeup lines/options. I went in one evening, for an eyebrow arch, based on a recommendation. As is typical, No effort was made by anyone to ask if I needed help. You'd think for the prices charged, assistance would be easier to come by. The brow bar was booked solid, so I tried the salon. Although an employee was totally free, she wasn't sure if she could help me because she was scheduled to do blow outs that day. So rather than make some money, it appears policy dictates that employees do only what they are scheduled to do. Eventually I had my service, I wasn't thrilled and the experience was less than ideal. I was hoping for something more similar to what I had heard about, but frankly, I felt unwelcome and I likely won't be returning. read more

Everytime I walk into Ulta they are either way understaffed or the staff is scattered and it is very difficult to get someone who can help. I am so use to it that if they didn't have the two main brands I use, I would never go there. Also sad is that even when you do get someone to help, half the time they are not knowledgeable or can care less. Sorry, but it is what it is. I love this store. Everytime I'm here I always get greeted immediately upon entering and I always get asked if I need help by 2-3 different employees. It's good to see that the associates care about their customers. Their makeup selection is to die for and I could not recommend the salon enough (especially Cindy)!!! Eh. I've been in this store a couple of times and while their selection might be great, the staff is less then helpful u less you are leaving with empty hands. I stood at the salon counter for five mins while a guy totally ignored me and then walked away. Someone came to help me finally and I asked for a brow shaping and they sent me to benefit where I was told the girl working was on her last client and could schedule me on Monday. It was a Saturday. They directed me back to the salon. Needless to say I left. And on my way out the ever so helpful door girl who didn't notice me at all on the way in asked me if I found everything ok. ?!?!? read more

Today I walked in the Boardman, Ohio Ulta location and I have been going here for YEARS along with my family. I noticed a newer manager is working because I go in the store often. This managers name is Mary, well Mary needs to fix her attitude towards customers. She was ringing me out after I did a return with her and she basically ripped me off from the return and told me a couldn't even return the item multiple times then finally returned it. I couldn't use my aunts phone number to complete the return on a gift card for the amount my aunt paid. Instead she made me get the lowest historical selling price which was $2.15 instead of $14. After she did the return she was smiling as I walked away. I came back after shopping around and she rang me back out. She was giving me a sassy attitude the whole time and after a walk away she was LAUGHING OUT LOUD at me! I turned around she stop laughing out loud and was smiling looking down. I used to be a retail manager from the age 18-20 and this lady had to be in her 30s/40s and let me tell you. I'm way more professional/mature and I know how to provide great customer service. On the other hand Mary cannot with stand any of that. She needs retrained in the customer service department. Thank you. On the other hand the part time girl working named Jacqueline, you go girl! I have been shopping at this ULTA store since they have opened. When entering the store I have never once been asked if I needed help finding anything. When I have asked for help to find certain products the associates look at me as if to say why are you asking me? They are unfriendly and not helpful at all, almost to the point I have often thought is that is part of their training to not bother the customers? If so, they take it to extreme they almost go out of their way to stay clear of you if you look like you might have a question. I have decided that I would rather pay shipping on my hair and make up products then go into the Boardman OH store ever again. I am a person to be the first to compliment you on great service and also to let you know if the service is bad. I feel someone needs to seriously look into why the customer service is so terrible at a store when Ulta has so much to offer people if someone would just ask what they are interested in. They are missing out on so many opportunities to make sales. I just don't understand the poor service. read more
