So I decided to save $8 and go to UK Naiks and Spa instead of The Nails, where I went last time. I hated the colors, 5 days later it was all chipping, so I jist repainted everything. She cut my 2nd toe and I was bleeding. I think I got an ingrown toenail from her digging at my toes too hard. I pulled my foot away 3x when she was working on my feet. $58? Great price but you get what you pay for. read more

So.. I only went here because my normal nail salon (in Berlin) was closed due to COVID. Damnit, Omicron. I have dip and they were so grown out I needed a cut down and fresh dip! I went here on MLK day. Here are the things that went very, very wrong for me: 1. I waited 30min past my apt. time. Frustrating but not the end of the world for me 2. The gentleman who did my nails who had just finished with another gals nails, simply picked up his metal tray full of the tools he used on her nails and brought them over to do mine. AHHHHM.... WHAT??? Have we heard of normal hygiene and necessary protocols. He insisted they were clean. 3. He tried to convince me to get gel rather than dip. He kept saying gel was less money. I asked how much a dip mani was and a woman there advised $68. WHAT in the sweet hell. And then she said "oh but we'll do $58 for you". Was the dip made of Gold? I'll never know. They had a very small selection and definitely were steering me away from it. So confused. 4. I settled on gel because I'm not insane and I'll get it to hold me until I get back to my go-to place. During the mani (which was normal & fine), we get to the part where they usually say "go wash your hands with no soap". But, instead, he SPRAYED MY HANDS AND NAILS with an unknown substance in a spray bottle. I said "what is that!?" He said something along the lines of "soap and water". But then, I smelled the chemicals. I asked him to immediately take it off my hands as it began to BURN. What is happppppeninggggggg I couldn't wait to make my great escape. He paints them and they look fine. Truly. Like a 7/10. Great. Fine. I get up to go pay but before I do, he wipes off the nail tools he used on me with acetone and walks that damn tray over to the next girl ! Ewwww. AND THEN .. (this is the best part) he takes the spray bottle of "soap and water" that smelled like chemicals and burned (that he used on my hands) and SPRAYED DOWN THE NAIL TABLE AND MY ENTIRE SEAT TO "disinfect". I go "wait, is that a disinfectant spray!!?" "No,no,no." I swear to God I was sprayed with Clorox. It will forever be a mystery. I paid with my card. Was charged $38 but if I had cash it would have been $35. I will never ever return because I prefer clean tools and to not be sprayed down with Clorox. And, dip is not that damn expensive. Left within minutes of pedicure starting, no where near polish or completion of pedicure. I did not scam or steal service. Days later my toes still ache from how poorly & inappropriately cut. Came here on a whim after having my hair cut up the road. They were able to take me right away for a gel mani and a pedi, which was great! Seems like a very friendly place with a lot of regulars - they were all chatting with a patron who they clearly knew well, and they politely asked me my name, what I did for a living, if I had any kids, etc. Very warm staff. The pedicure was very thorough, but (perhaps because they were pressed for time?) another staff member did my mani while I was still in the pedicure chair and in between running around to start another patron's nails. It felt kind of rushed, which showed up in the quality of the mani - in less than a week, the gel was peeling up on the sides of several nails, and I was able (with hardly any effort) to remove the whole manicure by hand (no polish remover even needed) when the gel started cracking within another day or so. Some nice features here, but just kind of a "meh" experience for me. read more

This place is meh. Polish and Gel colors are extremely lacking for this to be in such a nice area. The nail salons I'm used to in Texas charge $25 for a Pedicure and have an extensive wall full of colors to choose from. This one charged me $60, my heels were still cracked afterwards, and the polish on my toes is not applied as great as it could have been. However, the salon is clean, the techs are super sweet and friendly/conversational, and I was able to get in on the same day for the Pedicure I desperately needed. But seriously though, the colors could use a major update. Just a suggestion. read more

The one plus is how friendly the staff is! However, there so many negatives to mention. I am hoping my review helps this business to make some immediate changes... I am pretty sure they use old nail polish that they add polish remover or something to in order to be able to extend the life of the polish. You can see how the majority of the polishes are separated and some color names don't even match the actual polish colors. Tools are not new for each customer. They simply spray a solution on the tools and reuse on the next customer. Most salons will open up a fresh set of tools right in front of you. You rest your hands on what looks like a previously used/stained wash cloth. I am not sure if it was new for me or not, but for the price I definitely expect more than a dirty looking towel. There is no handwashing during the manicure. They spray your hands with some kind of solution- not sure what- and they wipe away with a paper towel. The manicure was rushed and also extremely overpriced. $24 for a regular manicure that started chipping almost immediately. I understand prices increased due to covid, but I get my nails done often enough to know that nobody in the area is charging more than $15-$19 for a regular manicure. I wish this business the best and hope they pay attention to their recent reviews. However, I will definitely not be going back. read more

Reviewing on dip nails here- Quyen is the BEST! One, her attention to detail and perfection is one I haven't seen from someone since I was probably in high school (aka like 10+ years ago). If you show her a picture, she will go above and beyond to replicate. Two, you don't know what you want or looking for a little oomph? Tell her! She'll work her magic and deliver happiness. Three, she's FUN and an amazing human. I love talking with her during our appts. She always remembers little details about you, even if it's been months. Lastly (four), she goes above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable and happy during your visit. I threw my back out after slipping on some ice and mentioned it to her, just because I was a little cranky, and she went to get me a comfy pillow to put behind my back while she did my nails. Hmm... Can't say I really enjoyed my experience at UK. My nails turned out fine but meh. They are about a year old and eager to provide great service which is a good thing. But for me, I felt they were a little over zealous. I want to feel relaxed when I get mani pedis but I felt obligated to chit chat, a lot. They couldn't do exactly what I wanted for design so I opted for something else they showed me which was fine. The girl told me that the color I picked was the same shade as the photo and when she put it on my toes, it wasn't. Not a huge deal, close enough but she knew it wasn't as sheer as I wanted and didn't mention it until after she had done my whole foot and I looked down. Rather than have her change it, I just kept it. Similar thing happened when she applied the color of the design. She didn't ask me until she was done and assumed but whatever. I could have paid more attention. They scrape your feet during pedis with a tool that looks like a grater, not just a brush or pumice stone so if you don't want it, tell them in advance before they just start doing it. I don't even have calluses on my feet so I don't know why she tried it. Hot stone is nice but I don't need to pay more for my pedicure vs the regular foot/leg massage just for that. I feel like I have to watch everything they do so I can tell them what not to do which is kind of a nuisance to me. I paid about the same amount I would have for a gel mani + pedi elsewhere when I just got a regular mani and pedi with a design, $5 extra. Don't think I'd try them again. read more

The nail tech didn't seem like she knew what she was doing and I saw other nail techs telling her what to do and just eyeing her work on my feet. She took a whole hour for a pedicure which should only take 45 minutes tops! This was an amazing experiencing for me!! I usually don't get my nails done but decided to pamper myself a little and opted for this location because it was close to a Starbucks. The girls who worked here are extremely nice and welcoming. They don't hesitate to make you feel like you're a valued customer, and they certainly go beyond treating you like one. They'll talk to you like their friends and are so sweet. I just wanted a simple manicure and came in a Friday morning. It was pretty empty and they immediately sat me down and went to work. 1st time at this Nail salon, which I had chosen to visit based on star rating via YELP. Upon arrival, not a busy time, I was greeted pleasantly and told to choose my colors. No direction given even after stating 1st time here...Where is color selection? Then I wad pointed into right direction. My pedicure was first service with Helen. NO complaints, took her time, polished flawlessly, overall great service. Second service with Katie gel manicure, not so much. My cuticles were not fully pushed back, leaving a small gap. Didn't think to much of it until I was going into my 48th hour and that's were the hack job on cutucle cut showed, gap between cuticle and gel looks like I've had for 2 weeks, not 2 days. I called about redo policy, Business stated there isn't one but to come by and they will look at nails. I did this..and to my utter disappointment they put blame on dry skin being cause. I've ran a Full serve Spa for 15 years, NEVER have I been so shocked by lack of customer service. I didn't have time to redo nails but wanted to come next day, made appointment. Left thinking resolved. While driving out of lot I was flagged down and giving my money back for gel manicure. Katie, said spoke to manager, she said give you money and you can do somewhere else. LOVE it here! It's my first time and I don't normally get my nails or toes done unless it's for a special occasion. But I have been to quite a few salons trying to find the one that best fits my needs and let me just say UK nails is the place that's done it. AMAZING! I'm visiting from Northern California. I have gotten my gel nails done sooooo many times at many salons. This is by far the best experience I've ever had. I am super picky and usually cannot handle filing- but Hannah (the young woman I had) worked so gently and efficiently that I wasn't the slightest bit bothered. Amazing amazing amazing! I had been to a bunch of other nail salons before coming to this one and I will NEVER go anywhere else. I have a set of acrylic nails and the first salon I went to 1. The guy putting them on did not listen, when i said i had a cut on my finger that hurt and asked him to go easy there 2. He also cut me. I never went back and searched for another place. the second place I went to 1. He cut me as well, 2. my nails looked all different lengths and not even at all. After finding UK nails online, I was a walk in to their place. It is nice and stylish. Quyen, is such a sweetheart, asking how my day is, etc. I've never really talked to any of my nail techs because they seem to not want to bother, but i LOVE talking with her. She always makes sure i have everything i need and does such a great job on my nails. Even when they get busy, I never feel rushed like i did at the other salons. It is a fairly new and friendly nail salon. I walked in on a busy Friday afternoon and waited for 5 minutes. I really liked how the technicians work as a team instead of individually. I was greeted by the girl who was working with a customer near the entrance, another girl started the water for my pedicure, when I was also able to do my medicure at the same time.
