Got the bacon burger with Swiss (personal favorite). Perhaps the best smash burger I've ever had. Fries and onion rings are to die for. The staff could not have been friendlier and caring. Was severely disappointed in my dining experience…read more I sat at the bar, as I was dining solo on a business trip. I literally sat there without being recognized that the people on both sides of me commented on how long I'd been waiting to be greeted. Ordered a mixed drink and it was extremely slow to come out - the bartender was busy, but definitely not overwhelmed. I ordered the ribeye and it seemed like it was something that might have come from a low end restaurant. The coloring and grill marks seemed fake The meat was very dense with no flavor. The saving grace was the location.

The inside and outside are dog-friendly, so bring your furbabies. There is also an outdoor water station. I put a card in with a server, was given menus, and then we found the perfect spot outside. There is a huge yard with lots of seating under the covered patio. There is also an uncovered seating area. The bar and tables inside are very unique and some of the coolest I have ever seen in a restaurant. I got a flight (four beers), but it was really hard to decide on only four. I wish we could have stayed longer so I could try more. I went with the Black Hills Blonde, Exit 32, Sturgisweiss, and Pioneer Porter. My flavorite was... Black Hills or Exit with Pioneer in a close third. They were all very good. We shared the BLT with a side of slaw and the Coconut Shrimp with tots. Another thing that made me so happy was that when I asked for a side of ranch, I was given a bottle! The favs of the meal were the BLT, which had very yummy crispy bacon, and the tots dipped in ranch. I could have sat there all day moving in and out of the sun, sipping on beers.

Had the walleye and the swordfish both were outstanding, but in my opinion the walleye was better. However, the swordfish was excellent as well. Also had the French onion soup and the desserts were excellent. Second visit, had Ilya, had the stuffed elk mushrooms and the house salad. Another excellent choice and recommended by Ilya. We all had the penne pasta and the sauce was spicy: the way we like it, and it was excellent. Ilya was a pleasure to have, and he made our stay extremely pleasant and comfortable... Thanks again for the excellent food and service. Also, forgot to mention that the General Manager Angela stopped by, and she was so friendly and accommodating, and had a wonderful conversation with her. But again, thank you. My transaction is done and my order is up! I've tasted the labors of Hayl Storm Luncheonette before with the Cheese & Charcuterie Plate and the Schnitzel Sandwich prior, but today, today we feast on a Cuban Pork Sandwich. Paper plated. Napkin tucked. Fork in hand. I delve into the mixed green salad (I passed on the pomme frites this time around). Verdict. The Greens are tasty. The oil and balsamic that it's been tossed in, fantastic, balanced. Now, the sandwich, the main course, the reason we're here... (Approaches the Sandwich Guy Fieri style... Elbows up) ....the bread, toasted. Superb. It doesn't damage the roof of the mouth like some baguettes would. ....the pork, juicy, flavorful, and succulent. ....the pickles, sweet (as they should be). ....the dijon, that proper amount of spicy, the nasal heat one would expect. All and all, what I would expect from a proper Cuban. It takes me back to ABQ and a particular Cuban Family restaurant that I regard in high esteem. They keep me coming back, and I'm glad I've been able to experience this Luncheonette. They're solid and have a patron for the remainder that I reside in RC. The review is done but the food is not. So I'm going to leave you all and indulge my senses. It's good. So stop reading this and come get a meal from this little eatery. You won't be disappointed.
