My favorite food truck on the island. I actually go out of my way to pick up breakfast here. So much love goes into those fried eggs!

A friend and I were on a photo walk after visiting the County Center. Just a 7 minute walk away, on a side road before the train station, sits a small hotdog stand/restaurant. Outdoor seating only, but on a nice day, with their music setting the mood, sunlight streaming through the trees and Big Dennis greeting everyone and making conversation? It's the perfect little break. It doesn't hurt that the hot dogs are amazing!

After trying it, it lived up to the hype. They offer a large selection of hot dogs with different toppings and fun combinations. My husband and I both tried the Bernie Mac dog (I got mine with no bacon) and it was so delicious! The Mac and cheese complements the hot dog perfectly and stayed on the hot dog surprisingly well. The tots were also very good! My only complaint is that I wish they had some fun sauces for the tots/fries. We ordered pickup on door dash which was very convenient and ready on time but when we picked it up I did notice the prices were pretty different compared to the menu which isn't the restaurants fault, I'll just make sure to order in person next time. Can't wait to go back again and try more things!

A short walk later, I found myself at Destination Dogs, a place I had seen in photographs that suggested capaciousness. In reality, it is smaller.  This is not a complaint, just an observation.  I remember once hearing something about the contents of small packages. At 12:30 the place was full. Packed with humanity and appetite. I was seated quickly, as if someone had anticipated my hunger in advance. From the bar came the sound of construction crews discussing their midday rituals. Apparently this is where they come on Fridays, to repair themselves while they repair the city. It explained everything. Service was swift and attentive, a minor miracle given the crowd. I began with a Scotch egg, an item that seemed to have wandered in from another story entirely. I ordered it for that reason. I had always imagined my first Scotch egg would be eaten in an English pub under low ceilings and older regrets. Instead, here it was. Perfectly crisp, warm, and generous. The universe does not ask for permission. Then came the main event. The menu is an atlas of hot dogs. Domestic. International. Proteins in tube form arranged like possibilities. There is even an invitation to build your own, which I accepted. I attempted to recreate a favorite from Crif Dogs, a thing called the Spicy Redneck. Bacon wrapped dog. Pickled jalapenos. Coleslaw. Simple in theory. Destination Dogs improved upon it in every way that matters. The bacon crisped with purpose. The jalapenos spoke clearly. The coleslaw behaved. The hot dog itself seemed proud to be there. All of this, plus a 16 ounce beer, cost me about twenty five dollars with tip. A small price for order in a chaotic universe. Five stars. Not because perfection exists, but because this comes close enough to make the argument.

No matter where or what we searched, Charlie's Legendary Hot Dogs kept popping up in the top rated hits. At this point, we felt we had to give them a try. A nice size food truck perfectly situated to the shady side of a parking lot, we couldn't miss Charlie's Legendary Hot Dogs because of the long line of people waiting to order. Staff were extremely friendly and they had a good variety of hot dogs to select from on their menu. Our order consisted of - 2 hot dogs with onions - 1 hot dog with onions and kraut - 1 chili and cheese hot dog Everything was tasty, but the onion sauce was the home run for us. If I could, I would add it to every hot dog I have moving forward. Charlie's Legendary Hot Dogs will definitely be a revisit for us when we're in the area again. Just a heads up if you're a first time customer; they're cash only.

I usually order ahead online through door dash, it's a good way to get your order in for pickup if you don't have money on you.

This has been a long lost tradition for my friends and I for the last 15 years, so I decided to resurrect it and head on by. It was worth the 15-minute detour before heading home, as their burgers and fries were just as tasty as ever and brought back an awesome sense of nostalgia. All American is quite possibly the best bang for your buck here you can find here on the island. While their prices have gone up slightly over the years, they are still super reasonable. This time around, I even decided to go for a wild card and try their Filet of Fish for my first time ever. It was actually quite flavorful and very filling. Unlike the old days, they are no longer only accept cash, as you can use Apple Pay, credit, or debit. The fact that they accepted Apple Pay was honestly quite a relief as I accidently left my wallet at home before going to the beach!

The cashiers are friendly, but make small talk because they are trying to pump through the customers and I get it...IT'S THEIR JOB Good food for cheap, but just not the same it used to be! There is no "drive in" barely any parking on a busy afternoon
