Leaving members unable to sanitize items--machines, benches, cardio equipment, mats, etc. I attempted to contact the owner multiple times to voice my concerns--even leaving messages with front-desk employees for the owner to contact me. No response after multiple attempts. Finally, when I was able to speak to the owner in person--he completely dismissed my concerns about cleanliness. The owner stated that management cannot rely on members to throw away paper towels (full-grown adults by the way). So instead of a few paper towels to pick up off the floor, we get stuck with sweat soaked gear? STOP trying to nickel and dime your members. The rates for this gym are high enough to cover a few proper sanitizing stations THROUGHOUT the facility.

I have tried every gym in the area (I used to do day passes at every gym within an hour radius while on school break so I have tried other golds gyms, 24hrs, pfits, retro, crunch, blink, powerhouse, you name it) and this is my favorite gym in north jersey. The new owner replaced a lot of the equipment including the floors and treadmills while leaving a lot of the old classic equipment which I love combined with new fantastic Atlantis machines. The gym also has a large turf area and basketball court which is a huge plus for athletic training. Also a sauna, but the best part of the gym is the community, a great mix of old classic body builders, young guys, and the staff is super friendly. My only complaints would be a new filtered water fountain would be great, there are multiple old ones that don't taste great and I've heard the town has given the owners a problem with replacing pipes. They put a gate in the front which was a big annoyance at first but it works well now and helps keep non members from sneaking in, and the parking lot has the largest potholes I've ever seen and they always come back despite them repatching them, it needs a full pave but I believe that is on the town and out of the gyms control. Also on some week nights one of the trainers runs an absolutely obnoxious workout class and blasts music on top of the gym music while taking up the entire turf area. She could easily use the empty studio room that they don't use at all. Still one of my favorite gyms out of hundreds I've been to considering a reasonable price!

I signed up for the one month unlimited for new clients and I have been loving going (I went four times this week already!). There are many convenient times to choose from and all the instructors are amazing and encouraging. It's a great workout that you can try at any level since everything can be adjusted/modified. The studio and staff are so welcoming. I cannot recommend this studio enough, whether you're starting your fitness journey or want to add something new into your routine. Lol…read more It can be hard to follow the combos sometimes because the instructors move quick, but you can do it at your own pace. If there's a routine you can't do, you can do something similar such as squats instead of jump squats, etc. The new owner Luis is very friendly and welcoming! My fave classes are with trainers Jonathan and Brandie. I actually went to Brandie's class tonight - her playlist is on point!! I love how she always ends her classes with Linkin Park's "one more light" for the cooldown. She kicked my butt tonight - in a good way!

Its not just a gym, it feels more like family.  Steve and Mike are probably the nicest guys you will ever meet. Not to mention extremely diligent and thorough when it comes to training. It doesn't matter what fitness level you are on. They are there to work with you. I was once paralyzed and felt weak, but since joining Focus Fitness I have seen tremendous improvement with strength and I owe that to Steve and Mike.  They clearly laid out a strategy to achieve the best possible result for me. I cant say enough about this gym. Clean, friendly staff, awesome music and let's not forget their one on one training...especially Mike he pushes me so hard that I feel I have my own drill Sargeant.  Its an awesome energy. They understand what you are striving for and they will get you there, if you stay focused. The transformation classes are intense and diverse, its not an easy walk in the park, trust me, YOU WILL BE challenged..bring a towel or two because your gonna sweat like you've been outside in the rain. They asked for a credit card number to book the session and as I was driving when they called me, I wasn't able to provide it to them. We agreed I would call them back to provide it, but life happens and I forgot. No one contacted me in between I went out of my way to drive to the location (not local) and upon arrival, they did not have my appointment and told me that they canceled my session because I never provided my credit card. BUT no one ever called me and followed up and no one called me and notified me that they were canceling me so I drove out of my way for absolutely nothing.

The owner first showed me a bike and said "don't worry, there is no weight limit." I have a great sense of humor and giggled internally, mostly because he thought that would go over my head. I calmly asked him why he would say that and he stammered. He may have thought I'd shrink. No sir, wrong lady. The Women's Locker Room is in need of a nice paint job to make it appealing. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in every stall to find one stall with toilet paper. Sometimes none found. One positive is that I've seen machines cleaned and vacuumed daily. The cleaning people on the floor are friendly and kind. There are a couple of trainers who made eye contact and spoke to me directly and I appreciated it. I had no luck making an appointment with any trainer. After making an appointment with one, he had a woman call me back to ask who I was and how I got an appointment with him. Shame for him, I was willing to buy a package from him after my first visit. I then had another trainer appointment and had car trouble so called to cancel 48 hours in advance and she called me back and blasted me that her time was valuable too. I gave 48 hours notice. Their arrogance was a lost opportunity for them. I found an excellent trainer outside this gym. As for the muscular brother/owner. Yeesh "dude" - you've officially won the "Get Over Yourself" Award. People come in all sizes and shapes. There was another woman here who wrote about you in particular. It's not a one-off. I've had a similar experience. I did not speak or complain to you or anyone in that gym ever and you still managed to do that to me.

The following month Fitness 19 billed me again. They said I cancelled on the 16th and billing is done on the 15th. You have to appear in the gym to cancel, no over the phone. I was on Ireland that week. How could I appear in the gym if I was in Ireland. It's a SCAM gym. Don't give them your credit card. The owner threatened to send me to collections if I dispute the charge. Pure grifter tactics.
