My friend and I showed up for our 7:30 movie showing at 7:45, and were ignored by the movie theater staff for fifteen minutes. They have a sign outside that says they close at 8, but even so, we arrived before then. Do not come here, the staff doesn't even want to work their full shift. Movie went black, didn't come back on. Got nothing for inconvenience. Made us wait til next viewing for the movie. Managers not present. Over an hour wait for a new viewing. And had to rewatch the beginning with more people. Will not be back. read more

Out of the options in this area to see a movie, this is the best option. Other theaters are much dirtier and provide lackluster service. Here, the theater meets your expectations. Recently, they even replaced our popcorn after the bag provided was mostly crumbs. It was a classy move. Normal movie theater experience, but consistent as well. read more

UEC 9 is our favorite theater to go to in the area. The stadium seating and wide rows contribute to the viewing experience The theater is consistently well maintained and clean even after high attendance premiers. What movie experience doesn't include a big bag of popcorn! UEC 9 has some of our favorite popcorn around. Aways fresh full popped kernels that doesn't disappoint. read more

Very poorly run establishment. Their hours are posted nowhere on their website. We ordered 4 tickets to bullet train totaling to about $20 showing at 9:50. We arrived at 10:10 and were started at like zoo animals for about 20 minutes by employees. By 10:20 3 more groups arrived and we all called the number to be responded by a "we close at 10:15" they only let us in because we paid for our tickets online. However, why is their theater closing before movies have even aired? That's completely unproffessional. Had there hours been posted or clear on the door I would not be upset. But overall a very poorly run theatre. read more

So I went to see bohemian rhapsody to relieve some stress during finals week and I saw that they had a 10:00pm showing, so as soon as I left the library I headed on over and I was running late - supposed to be there at 10:10 and miss a few harmless previews. So I get there and as I'm approaching the door with a few friends an employee locked the door and headed to the back with his fellow employees and proceeded to ignore us while we were knocking on the door until 10:19 and would not let us see the movie. The employee that opened the door and spoke to us said that they don't let you see the movie if you're late and they "close at 10:16." That is not listed on the website or the front door or anywhere else so how was I supposed to know that? Rude and adding to my finals week stress. Thanks college 9! read more

Your basic neighborhood theater....Being out by Valley Vista offers a total convenience factor for those of us who don't want to haul into town on a Saturday night. Overall, pretty "A-OK" theater. No real complaints, but no super standout features. Small theaters; high-back seats set at a slightly strange angle; extensive concession stand area, blah blah. Seems to have plenty of parking. They do offer a student discount, so don't forget your ID! read more

If you want to catch a movie in State College, then Premier Theater College 9 is the place to go. Sure, there is another premier on the East side of town, but this place is much closer to campus, and it's also pretty empty. Now, if you don't have a car, it will probably be pretty hard to come here and watch a movie, as it is located pretty far on the outskirts of town. Once you get here, get ready for a great deal. Movies here are only $8 for students, which is an amazing price in comparison to what you'd be paying in a major metropolitan city. Over at Premier, you can catch 3D movies on top of your normal flicks, but there is sadly no IMAX available. Other than movies, you have your standard overpriced food and drinks. I've never been a huge fan of wasting money on these, so luckily, they're pretty lax on you bringing in your own food and drinks. On the downside, this place does not work with Fandango. Thus, you really have to come here to get your tickets if it's for a showing in advance. Premier Theater College 9 is the spot I go to when I need to catch a movie in State College. Sure, it's not fancy like ones in NYC, but hey, it's $8 so I won't be complaining. read more

It is good. It can be better... So far, not as good as other theaters; for instance, in Panamá city, they have VIP chairs and waitresses.

First theatre I've been to at State College and I rarely go out to see movies so hard to give a fair review. But tickets were only 8.25? I thought we went back in time for a second. The theatre itself is a little smaller than I'm used to with bathrooms separated on both sides. The drinks and food are expensive like all others. The seats can be slightly pushed back. Our go to movie theater, primarily because it's within walking distance of us. There's nothing fancy about it, the screens are fine, the seats are fine, everything is fine. I wouldn't call it an outstanding theater, but you're in State College not King of Prussia, so you can't really expect a massive IMAX quality theater. Really the theater deserves three stars, but since the prices are so affordable I give it four. If you have other theaters closer to you it's not worth the extra drive time, but it's perfectly suitable for a movie. read more

A word of caution on expecting "comfortable seats"... The seating for screens #1 and #9 do not recline even though you pay the same as for the other seven screens. The rest of the complex is average at best...nothing spectacular. It was annoying during my most recent visit for the sound to be off until a few seconds into the featured film ("Interstellar"). I actually missed the sound during the previews. I guess the best thing it has going is cleanliness. read more

A few weeks ago, my friend and I decided to go to the theaters to watch the new movie superman vs. batman. I did not expect too much, when I got there. My expectations were barely met. Although the staff was helpful, I felt like they just wanted to end their shift. The movie theater itself is a ghost town. The theater (room) itself was nice. Standard movie theater with stadium seating. Its nice that its north of town so you don't have to go downtown where I think they used to have a movie theater, not sure now or Bellfonte. I forgot my student id and it was still super cheap to see a movie for two on a Saturday night. I might be crazy but I think it was only $11.00 for the two of us. read more

Seats are super comfortable, and recline, which is definitely a bonus! Screen size is good as well.

Movie prices continue to rise all over the country, so paying around $10 for ticket is to be expected. However, I would expect clearer picture and sound, comparable to other theaters at the same price range that offer superior quality. Overall though seeing movies here is a good experience. I do wish we could add or own butter. read more

This theater is pretty basic, I just tend to go to the other one in town because the seats here aren't as good, and their parking is also awkward to get in/out of when the parking lot gets busy. When getting out of a movie once it took nearly a half hour to get out of the parking lot because of the traffic. read more

I'm not sure if some other reviewers of this theater have ever been to the movies in other theaters in central Pa. By comparison this place is palatial! It's very nice, new, spacious, and fairly priced. The popcorn here is the best. Always freshly popped and delicious. In fact it's so good that sometimes we swing by just for the popcorn!! The young staff here does a nice job of being friendly and professional. The selection of movies is excellent. The bathrooms and theaters are very clean and the seating is exceptional. Plenty of easy parking. The only odd thing is that the lobby carpet needs a good professional cleaning. I'm so happy our town has this theater. Great job college 9! read more

convenient to our house, this theater is well kept and a good choice for movies.

it's ok. they don't have add your own butter like the other theatre, and they don't have the mix your own ice and drinks, and the seats don't always recline, and the movie is not always in focus, but I'm picky I guess. it offers a choice from the other, ahem, same brand, movie theatre in town. now that's what I call choice! also, gettign in, you have drive through a hard to see entrance, which might cause trouble getting out, but there is a secret way through lowes that is often open. read more

Sadly, not a good experience. My husband, two children and I recently visited the College 9 for a matinee of Avengers Infinity War. Upon entering the front door, I was stopped by an employee and told that I would not be allowed to enter with my "backpack". I informed her that the bag was simply my purse, and offered to show her. She insisted that I would not be allowed inside stating that company policy does not allow backpacks to be carried into the theater. I hurriedly ran the bag out to my car nearly missing the beginning of the movie in the process. It should be noted that I have carried this "backpack" into this same establishment countless times in the past. In addition it should also be noted that most of the ladies visiting the College 9 were carrying bags much larger than my "backpack". After the show, I attempted to discuss my frustrations with the general manager to no avail. She was completely dismissive of my issue, and frankly quite rude. If they are concerned about safety- the policy should be no bags allowed at all, not 'only 1 strap bags are allowed'. Bag shaming my 2 strap purse is just not right! My advice- drive across town to the UEC 12. However, if you must go to the College 9- ladies leave your bags in the car! Never again . read more

When we arrived, we were immediately met with aggression. We tried to get tickets for a new movie and they wouldn't let us without telling us why. When we found out it was because we were too young, we offered to show we had permission but they wouldn't let us. So we ended up buying ridiculously overpriced tickets to a movie we didn't want to see from a cashier who didn't even try to make it seem like she wanted to be there in the slightest. I grudgingly even gave this one star, but the people at the snack counter were fast and kind. Overall, I will definitely NOT be returning to this theater, it was not even a little bit worth it. read more
