Ticket prices are kind of high but then so is most everything in this town. Lots of parking but you have to pay that separately. The only downside is the constant special effects sounds at every game, and that's just my personal opinion.

This park is still almost brand new with everything from food, beer, special snacks only found at this stadium (Taco Bags), and lots and lots of family fun! Now granted it isn't quite as fun as going to see Big Poppy slug a home run or Jeter flipping a double play, but still, who likes those teams anyway! I have been here about 6 times, and always enjoy myself with family and friends, will continue to come back for sure! GO PIRATES!!!

Attended the TobyMac concert w/3 opening acts: Zach Williams, Seph Schleuter & Jamie McDonald. Nice light effects, confetti drops & white smoke effects. Good sound quality overall. We stayed overnight in order to avoid 4-hr round trip. Hotel was only 10 mins from venue. Would definitely return!!

We've been to many events here from gymnastics to basketball to graduations to concerts. There's…read moregood and bad to it. Parking is a nightmare, no other way to explain how badly it's handled. Getting in, the bag policy is pretty common, a clear bag or a tiny wallet and then walk through a metal detector. They scan your ticket at the door and the madness of a 30-minute wait for a wristband to get alcohol and another half hour for the actual drink begins. Last night, we were there for a concert: From Ashes to New, Three Days Grace and Shinedown. We bought our tickets at the door for half the price they're offered for on-line. The lady in the ticket office was extremely knowledgeable about seating and recommended the sidestage area. The tee-shirt line took 20 minutes. By the time I got my shirt, it was time for the show to start. I could see perfectly from our seats. Hubby missed half the first band because of the chaos over what wristband was needed for a 50-year old man to have a beer. The music was incredible. The acoustics are perfection and you can literally feel the base hit your chest. The lighting has always been a problem there. They didn't consult a photographer. We'll still go back for events because we bleed Penn State blue and white, but hope they fix the chaos.

The food was quite underwhelming as they serve mystery meat hot dogs (no beef option) and nachos are served with a very lackluster and artificial looking nacho sauce. While the food brings down my overall rating of the ballpark experience to 3.5/5, happy to round up as Yelp does not allow half stars, and I did enjoy spending some time taking in this matchup between the Altoona Curve and Reading Fightin Phils.

We had a wonderful stay at Gifford Pinchot State Park!…read more The camping area at GP is separated into A loop and B loops with approximately 300 sites. All sites had a paved pad, varying in size depending on the location, with tent site being smaller. Most sites have electric and there are 22 full hookup sites in the camping area. Both loops are peninsulas into the lake, which is convenient to launching boats directly from many sites. Loop A is closer to the designated swimming area with a sandy beach and playground. B loop is closer to many of the hiking trails and also several boat launch areas. It is nice that the camping area and amenities are separated from the public day use area. At the entrance to the camping area there are three dump stations. During our stay we were at a full hookup site which was very spacious and often hard to find in PA State Parks. Our site was #299 and for some reason the entire site was paved/blacktop, which was different than all the other sites where the pad was paved and the picnic table area was gravel/grass. While this site made it easy to level our camper, it became quite hot in the afternoon/evening after the sun had baked it all day. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed GP and couldn't believe we hadn't visited before because it is a great state park. Wood is available for purchase at the campground hosts' sites and ice at the park office. As with most PA state parks, quiet hours are at 9:00PM, which is a bit early, and there is no alcohol allowed in the park. We look forward to returning to GP in the future.

They did have…read morea camp host in our area, A, though we never saw them even when we went looking b/c of a question we had. Never saw them the entire time we were there. The park is fine, needs a little TLC which the volunteers are doing a great job taking care of.
