They both seemed to know the route and when to go slow over every bump. A nice service for UCSD! See the schedule for the Campus Loop Shuttle, one of many free shuttles that conveniently transport the university community to various UCSD locations. The Campus Loop Shuttle operates year-round, except university holidays, during the following hours: Weekdays: 7 a.m. - midnight, clockwise and counterclockwise Weekends: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., counterclockwise only

This shuttle route meets at Mandeville loop on campus, then takes you to the corner of Regents and Nobel, then Nobel and Arriba, then Charmant and Lebon. It sucks when the line to the shuttle gets really long and I imagine it's really difficult for people who don't get on at the first stop (Regents and Nobel) if you go during prime class time. It's definitely nice that when this happens, UCSD Shuttle Services provides the Special Shuttle for the last stop and it takes the Nobel route (down Nobel with pick ups at Lebon&Nobel and at the busstop right outside BofA. To track the bus, go to ucsdbus.com before you leave or on your phone. You can text "ucsd (stop number)" to 41411 for arrival information, but the downside is that you need to know the stop number prior to leaving the house. Kind of inconvenient. I contacted Todd Berven about this and he was so quick to respond! Hopefully they can get an upgrade in place where you text the number and if you don't know the stop number it will give you the different routes and stops. Cross your fingers they get this in place. It'd be really convenient for non-smartphone/mobile web users. =)

Yelp One-Star Review for San Diego MTS (Bus 2602, June 13, 2025)…read more Severe discrimination and neglect witnessed today on MTS Bus 2602. The driver of Bus 2602 refused service to a homeless man in a wheelchair who cannot speak or walk. This man has been seen daily for nearly two weeks--he is peaceful, clean, and causes no harm to anyone. The driver flat out denied him access and left him stranded -- fully visible to everyone on the bus. This is a clear violation of ADA law, civil rights, and basic human decency. To make matters worse, the driver is operating the bus at freezing temperatures with no regard for the passengers who are shivering, while he sits isolated in his personal climate bubble. He has absolutely no care or concern for public comfort or dignity. This driver should be immediately terminated and investigated for discrimination and failure to follow MTS policy and federal ADA regulations. His behavior reflects poorly on the entire MTS system. Complaint filed: Ref# 427-397-841 Formal Complaint to San Diego MTS (For Internal Submission) Subject: ADA Violation, Driver Misconduct - Bus 2602 (June 13, 2025) To MTS Management, I am submitting a formal report regarding a disturbing incident that occurred on Bus 2602. The operator refused boarding to a disabled, non-verbal man in a wheelchair who has been peacefully present in this area for weeks. He does not pose any threat, is clean, and has previously ridden the bus without issue. The driver violated ADA regulations by denying him public transit access and left him stranded at the stop. This is not only illegal, it is inhumane. Furthermore, the driver has the bus climate system set at dangerously cold levels, ignoring repeated discomfort expressed by passengers. His disregard for both public service and public safety demonstrates a complete failure of duty. Immediate termination and investigation are warranted. If MTS cannot enforce proper policies to protect the vulnerable and serve the public fairly, this reflects systemic failure. Reference complaint # 427-397-841

We had no idea we'd be in a dead zone so my Uber/Lyft apps weren't cooperating. This cab company was the closest, so we had no choice. After calling the cab company dispatcher, the cab driver called me, said 10 minutes ETA, then arrived almost 20 minutes later, then drove right past us, drove us home recklessly, took off fast from stops causing almost-whiplash, came to stops abruptly and, worst of all, the cost was double that of an Uber. Also, I noticed he had the fare running before we got into the cab, which read $4.75. When I questioned him, he pretended like he didn't understand. I asked him twice, but when he became agitated, I dropped it. This guy must've gotten his license out of a Cracker Jack box. I couldn't wait to get out of the cab! I think they just don't care. The second time I made this trip, I made sure I had a pre-arranged ride from a friend. Please phone a friend ahead of time if you know you're going to be in a dead zone. Terrible that you can't rate your driver like Uber, either. You just have to accept it is what it is. *shrugs AVOID AVOID AVOID if at all possible.
