I am from Russia, and when I first came to IAE, I knew only the basics of English. I could barely put a sentence together, I was not able to speak comfortably, and I was often afraid of making mistakes. What was especially interesting for me was that I learned English through English. From the very beginning, I had to listen, understand, speak, and slowly get used to using English in my everyday life. For me, this made an incredible difference and helped me make progress that I honestly did not expect. IAE helped me not only improve my vocabulary and grammar, but also see language learning in a completely different way. Little by little, I became more confident, started speaking more, and stopped being so afraid of making mistakes. Learning English became something interesting and even fun for me. Of course, there were difficult moments, but I now understand that they were also an important part of my progress. During these two years, I learned so much and met people from many different countries and cultures. One of the things I appreciated most was that everyone had a different background, culture, and native language, but we were all communicating in English. It was an amazing experience to see how one language could bring people from completely different places together. I am truly grateful to every teacher who taught me along the way. Each teacher helped me in a different way, and I really appreciate their patience, support, and everything they put into helping their students grow. I also want to thank the director, Bill , for creating such a welcoming environment and for caring about the students. When I look back now, it is honestly hard to believe how far I have come. I came to IAE barely able to speak English, and I am leaving with an Advanced level and much more confidence in myself. For me, these two years were about much more than learning a language. They were about meeting new people, discovering different cultures, challenging myself, and seeing how much I was capable of. Thank you, IAE, for these two years. Anybody who's been interested in secondary education during this epidemic knows how hard it is to…read moremake it work. NTI makes it happen. I was a reinforcing ironworkers apprentice for 416. Awesome job right? Wrong. Sure they pay was great and there were amazing benefits too but the people and culture are absolutely terrible. I found myself in a position where I loved my work but absolutely hated my job. I knew I had to get out so when we inevitably got laid off due to Covid, I applied for and received a grant through DETR that is specifically designed for adults who want to change careers. I didn't look back. I knew I liked and wanted to work with my hands, I knew I couldn't be stationary and the added bonus of running diagnostics made HVAC on an obvious choice. NTI was the superior choice among the HVAC programs covered by the grant. In comparison to all, it should really be the only one. I took the hybrid course (20 chapters online and 5 weeks in person). They have awesome facilities and a bunch of different equipment for you to tinker with and learn all the ins and outs. The front staff is awesome as I'm sure are the other instructors but Adam (the instructor I had) is the shit. He legitimately cares if you understood the material and what's happening in the systems. He'll come in early before class to work with you if you're struggling and he'll stay late just the same. Adam is a super cool dude too, he made class really enjoyable because he clearly wasn't there to collect a paycheck and enjoys teaching a trade in which he is an expert. You probably aren't going to believe this but, on the 3rd week of class, during Wednesday's instruction I was reaaaaallly slacking off so ADAM pushed me to do something productive at least. I filled out a job application on indeed for one of the top HVAC companies in town and since I had time, I wrote a good cover letter. I was called the very next morning for an interview! I started work on monday of week 4! Two weeks BEFORE graduation.... Now I make waaaaay more than I did ironworking and it's significantly easier. Guys it won't be easy and it'll take a lot of work but if you want to better yourself you must CREATE YOU'RE OWN PATH and take control of your life. Set a goal and commit head first.

Very professional…read more There were a bit of mishaps. The training center is on the 300-400 building and the suite number is 430. I got lost in the beginning, but I still managed to find it. Every time I called, the number was busy or I was taken straight to voicemail. If you can't reach them by phone, you can reach them through Facebook Messenger. When I got to the room, I was told that the appointments for the day I chose were all canceled. BUT!!!!!!! Don't judge to quickly from what I wrote. Even though my appointment and a few others were canceled, due to the mixup, I still got to take the class. The lady that helped me out was very kind and gentle. She managed to help us out and we were able to take our class, test, and practice. She took care of us individually and we managed to finish the class rather quickly. Overall, I love the service. I highly recommend you take your CPR training here.

If I could start over, I would take more time researching the faculty, their qualifications, their teaching styles, and how grading is handled. This program is extremely rigid, and many of the professors seem unengaged and underqualified. You'll wait weeks for grades because professors aren't the ones actually grading the assignments; the "higher-ups" are. It makes the entire process feel disconnected and, honestly, a bit fake. There is little to no opportunity for improvement because you never get meaningful feedback. You don't see what you did wrong, and you can't grow from it. Some instructors feel like they're just playing a role, and it leaves me questioning whether they're even fully credentialed. If you do decide to attend Galen, take as many general education and prerequisite courses as you can elsewhere before enrolling. Especially now, with their accreditation currently under review, it's important to protect your time, money, and future licensure.
