I had my 1st Spanish lesson today and I am very happy with the out come. I decided to take private…read moreclasses seeing that I am looking to learn the language to better communicate with my employees. My instructor was very nice and took the time to correct me with the proper pronunciation (something I knew I wouldn't get from an online program). To start out I've set up 1 day a week for 1 hr for the 1st month to test the waters. I already want to go back tomorrow. I'm extremely excited to see where I'm at in a few months.

I came to the Shepherd School of Language to take the GRE and was scared out of my mind. I was…read morepicturing a testing center where victims lined up and proceeded into an auditorium like room and were watched intently by the glares of unfriendly monitors. Shepherd was nothing like that. I walked in and was greeted by a nice employee who instructed me to fill out some paperwork. I was then passed over with a metal detector and guided into a room that can probably only fit 15 people. According to posted instructions, drinks are not allowed, but the monitor let people who had water bottles take them in. Much appreciated. Only con: it was freezing in that room. I liked that Shepherd was a small and intimate testing center with a friendly monitor to boot. Take your GRE here people! Random fact: You have to sign a waiver thing in cursive! I love going to the events and gather with Francophones, living in or visiting the area, interacting with students. Crêpes Day, Music festival, Beaujolais Nouveau, pétanque (French bocce ball), ... always an excuse for cheese, bread, and wine. It's fun and one can found out tips on where to find the best food in town! Members receive discounts for classes, French bakeries, and more. Once a month there is a free movie in French language with subtitles. The library has all kinds of books for all ages and levels. Note that the Académie is officially recognized as an examination center for the DAEFLE (diplôme d'aptitude à l'enseignement du français) and can prepare to other exams.

I can honestly say Alex is a FANTASTIC teacher who really just wants you to succeed. He works really hard to help you get all the tools and training you need. It's on you to practice and get better. during the time of my schooling, I had just learned Blackjack proficiently and decided to go for an audition at El Cortez. Unfortunately, they told me they were full on blackjack dealers, but they can REALLY use dice dealers. Alex worked with me and helped me get better at the math and practicing with units. He gave me chips to practice my cutting and told me to come back whenever I want as often as I want but practicing at home too would be crucial for faster success. He was very honest saying it takes about 6 weeks to be proficient in craps and I appreciated his honesty and directness. I kept practicing, but my 5th week in my teaching job opened up and I took that job. Alex has ALWAYS invited me back to finish up the package I paid for even though I declined. He really wanted me to continue to have something to fall back on and invited me back on numerous occasions to finish training. I firmly believe he is THE BEST ISNTRUCTOR in Vegas and really just wants to see people succeed and get better. Even at this location 7 years ago, the other students also learning were sharing horror stories of other school not helping, not coaching, and pairing you up with other trainees that didn't know what they were doing. I never EVER felt this at CEG, I always had personal coaching every minute I was there from him or another professional, and everyone there would go out of their way to help you succeed. Alex is the best man for the job. I firmly believe he wouldn't do business with anyone that didn't share his passion to help others and am glad to see him pair with Casino Quest staff. I'm DAMN SURE his vision is shared by everyone he works with. I'd bet the farm on it. He's an outstanding coach and person, and this was 8 years ago before they even got "big"!
