I have been taking classes here for over a year with the owner Cristina, she is wonderful. My Spanish training prior to this was Rosetta Stone. Instead of memorizing Spanish phrases, Cristina has taught me to think in Spanish. I am much more confident now with being able to communicate in Spanish when I need to. The Spanish Studio is fantastic. I had been doing Duolingo for about 6 months everyday, but I didn't feel like I was making enough progress to have a conversation in Spanish. I found Spanish Studio and after just 6 lessons with Cristina, I feel so much more confident and I'm starting to be able to converse. This is a long overdue review and I owe a big thank you to Cristina, Monica, Irene, and all the students with Spanish Studio. I had 1 on 1 lesson with them for two plus year. At first, I bought lessons as a birthday gift to myself. Little did I know, three years later, I now work in a small Mexican border town, all my co-workers speak Spanish, and I frequently travel to Mexico. My broken Spanish has proven very useful to get me around town, listen to the news, music, and read pretty much everything short of academic journals. In my experience, they start me off with simple greetings, telling time, and eventually move on to other topics to build vocabulary and conversation skills. They hold conversation class at least once a week. They do have immersion program in foreign countries, which I have not tried. What I've learned with the studio gave me solid practical knowledge of the language to keep learning in the real world. My experience with the Spanish Studio had been highly satisfying, and if you are thinking about learning Spanish, I say just go for it; you cannot go wrong with Spanish Studio. read more

I have been a student here for approximately one year. The lessons are 1 on 1 with a native Spanish speaker. There is a curriculum and you learn how to read, write and speak Spanish. I was a complete beginner when I started and had never taken a Spanish class before. The owner and assistant manager are great. The studio also occasionally has some social functions which are usually well attended and encourage you to bring your kids or spouse. The lessons are for people of all ages. The cost is $150 for four classes. I highly recommend this place however make sure you keep your receipts and pay attention to when you're payments are due. I have a hectic job sometimes and infrequently have to cancel lessons. Over the past few months I've had to cancel roughly one class a month and started noticing that I was being asked to pay even though I had only taken three classes even though I gave ample notice of having to cancel. I was told that I needed to make up the classes within a month which simply is not possible with my schedule. After discussing it with the owner I believe the problem will be resolved for the future however I definitely paid for four classes and received only three on multiple occasions. I believe this was a honest mistake and do not believe the owner was intentionally trying to rip me off. This mistake is the reason I rated this as four stars instead of five. read more

I have worked 1 on 1 with Cristina for about six months now. My experience with her has been wonderful. She is good-natured and an excellent teacher. She has provided me insight not only into the language, but also into many cultural aspects of the Spanish world. She is quick to notice where you are struggling and to focus on those areas with exercises or general conversation. She also keeps my classes "fresh", cycling through different exercises, activities, and approaches (and sticking with what works best). I really cherish my lessons and I have absolutely nothing negative to say. This place is well worth the money and and time. read more
