First time here and very happy with the experience! Former customer of Cop-A-Tan in Torrance and was tired of the upselling and equipment issues. Called ahead and spoke to Kaitlyn, who was pleasant and helpful. Went down and met Kaitlyn. UCATAN had written pricing! That was refreshing. COP-A-TAN Torrance only ever gave me verbal pricing which felt shady. At UCATAN, New customers get a buy one UV tan get one free deal. Kaitlyn did not pressure nor upsell me. She showed me how to work the bed and pleasantly answered all my questions. The place seemed clean and the uv tanning bed was modern. First tan came out great! Did notice there were no mirrors, either in the tanning room nor the restroom, which seemed strange. Would have been nice to have a small wall mirror after tanning. I want the managers to know how special Sarah is the girl who works in the Redondo Beach location of Ucatan on PCH. Today when I was at Ucatan I got distracted and somehow left my wallet . It had all of my money in it n needless to say I was hysterical and crying. I went back to where I was before Ucatan and they even suggested I call the police which I did. Not so long after I got a phone call from Sarah who had my wallet! She called me and I was relieved! I went right back to get my wallet and it had all of my money in credit cards in it! I haven't been tanning in a while and she was very helpful when I asked for her advise on which products/ color to use for the spray tan. Was very disappointed with the new location new owners of this facility used to be Yucatán or sunset tan not honoring previous promotion on the other location when they were in Hermosa beach. The girl at the front counter his name is Yasmine was very rude and unprofessional should not be working at a retail facility there is a way to handle your customers and a way not to. The place needs to be completely cleaned painted and remodeled it's disgusting the other place was clean and the girls were friendly and nice even though the parking was not good. Cop A Tan has terrible customer service ! The management is no help i was told that my payment was already processed ! Really so what the management made it sound like they had no way of returning money ! But they have had no problem collecting $65.00 out of my account every month for a few years now I have been trying to cancel my subscription now for over a month! They have moved location on me twice now with no warning ! The first time i even lost lotion ! I talked with management on the phone and they were absolutely worthless .The company has one of the poorest customer service i have came in contact with in a long time! It is sad when a company could careless that they are losing a customer who has paid every month for a few years . All i got was that you signed the agreement ! I I had just upped my subscription and at that time the girl could have said that in a few weeks our location will be changes !!!!!!! I have the lowest monthly package $20.90 a month. There is an initial sign up; however, you are given free upgrades. I tried the higher beds and used their hydration station. Super friendly staff and clean facilities! Good price as far as tanning salons go and there hasn't been a wait in the two times I've been so far. They have a $19/month unlimited deal for their standard bed but I signed up to try the first week unlimited $25 and you can use any bed. So far I've tried the Diamond bed which is super fast, comfortable and well ventilated and the stand-up. I've always wanted to try a stand-up (good for germaphobes who don't want to lie down in a bed) and it just seems like a cool spaceship-like experience. I danced the whole time I was in there! It was well ventilated with fans above and below; although I don't recommend this if you're claustrophobic (but I'm sure claustrophobics don't go in tanning beds anyways so that's ok). Definitely worth checking out! read more

She is always pleasant and cheerful and actually takes the time to go over the different tanning options (and other services), instead of just pushing the best or most expensive packages, I don't feel rushed or like she's just trying to make a sale. I have been going to Cop-A-Tan for the last ten years. I really like the place because there is plenty of parking and I can get a Mystic Tan without an appointment. The only down side is they change their "point system" constantly. So, you're never really sure how many tans you're going to get. Good place to go, with reasonable prices. read more

Not sure if this is still considered cop a tan (over in Redondo Beach by Whole Foods and Rite Aid) but either way, the tanning here is decent. I'm an an experienced tanning enthusiast. Back home in MN I've been a member at my local salon for over 5 years - and comparing there to cop-a-tan I would give cop-a-tan 4 stars and my home salon 5. First of all, the ambiance is missing hard core there. It's pretty run down aesthetically which can be uncomfortable. The beds are pretty basic all across the board - but I would most definitely recommend going into the Diamond or Luxor level bed if you want "high end" tanning. Also, the lotion selection is limited. However, the staff is very friendly. The girl who signed me up was very good at being warm and inviting to customers and was clear and concise when explaining my contract details. In my experience, any reviews that have people complaint about not being able to end their contract is 99% on them vs the salons fault. A 5 day to month prior notice is typical of all the places I've ever tanned or had memberships. So don't let those stories scare you. read more

I opted for a well priced tan club where I was able to tan unlimited and in addition for signing up I was given a ton of free upgrade points which I've been using for mystic/spray tans.
