I went in looking for a great friendly place to tan in the Southbay and found it at Cop-a-tan. I was greeted instantly by Lanie at the front desk, she was so sweet and inviting! The music and energy was superb! She gave us a tour and explained what would work best for me. I explained how easily I burn and she gave me insight on the best products, not only for tanning but aloe to help since I was so concerned. The time and effort she took to give me an excellent experience and knowledge made me know I needed to start tanning here. read more

There are two fabulous reasons why you should go to Cop A tan. The first is that they have super high-quality beds and the employees are all experts at figuring out what is the best plan for you to get a great tan? read more

This 5 Star Tanning Salon is always clean, welcoming, and friendly ...especially Nichole She always has the biggest smile and actually remembers my name and has my room ready before I ever get to the front door! Thanks Nichole...it's people like you that keep us coming back read more

Great spot. Clean and efficient. BUT the best part was Summer at the front desk. She is kind, attentive, and just has a smile that did wonders beyond the hydromassage (although that was great too). I used all services and they were great. read more

Stopped in today to buy a few sessions for my upcoming wedding. I haven't used tanning beds in years so Summer was incredibly helpful in teaching me what options I have and what would be best to reach the look I wanted. She was extremely knowledgeable on the beds themselves, tanning timing, lotions to use, etc. So happy I walked in and had her to help! read more

I've been to many different tanning salons and Cop-A-Tan in MB is by far the best of the best. The girls at the front desk are amazing--- Hannah and Summer are incredibly informed and helpful. I'm 45, been tanning for 20 years, and have learned new tricks and tips from these girls that I never knew and helped upped my tanning game. Highly recommend. read more

Great tanning salon. Lots of options. Good customer servic.

Wayne, the owner is the best guy on the planet earth and the service is awesome. Awesome.

I have been very impressed with the customer service and attention to their clients. The owner Wayne has always been present, kind, and professional. In addition, staff member Hannah is very knowledgeable about each and every client's personal needs, the products, and what fits best. I will be using the "red light" bed. Give them a call if you want to know more. read more

Five stars for the staff! They've been great and friendly, and Hannah in particular has been doing an excellent job during the busy hours when almost all the beds are full. read more

Outstanding -clean -friendly!!! Have known this business over ten years and it shines now!! Wayne and Hannah are courteous and knowledgeable and so helpful!! No better place!! read more

Prices are absolutely stupid ridiculous with "membership fees" and other BS. Whoever owns this place is a CLOWN. Every tier of his whack pricing model is so overpriced it's silly. Outdoor sunshine it is! You're crazy if you patronize this rip off business read more

Great facility and best customer service ever! Service rep Hannah is awesome. Always friendly and greets you with a smile. I couldn't ask for more and I feel very comfortable tanning there. Thank you, very much appreciate the service. read more

The owner is awesome, and he corrected a situation on the spot! Great customer service! Highly recommend!

Try calling and asking for pricing on a package and or a single session spray tan. "We can not provide the information over the phone" I stopped in to purchase 1-5 sessions of spray tanning and the girl was not able to provide any information regarding the solution they use. When it came down to pricing, it was very obvious that she was trying to overcharge. Her math didn't add up as she was convincing me to purchase more than one session. Funny thing is that same afternoon a friend of mine stopped in for a single session and of course the price that another girl had quoted her was way different. Shocker! I went called to other salons in the area and was provided with the information that I needed on the phone. The sales people were both extremely helpful. Upon arriving, I was able to look at their menu of service and they were knowledgeable about the product. I won't name the competitor but be aware and shop around. Only reason I give this place a two star is because the salon seemed very clean compare to most salons. read more

They wouldn't provide me pricing for tanning beds over the phone. A friend told me they could be up to $75 PER SESSION for their good beds. This is absolutely absurd. With the extremely rude way WAYNE (I'm assuming their crappy owner) responds to critics on yelp, it goes to show their mentality toward potential customers: very poor. I will try elsewhere: this place sucks. I invite WAYNE to talk to me in person about a salon package: i doubt he would be as disrespectful to critics through a webpage rather than to me in real life. Guaranteed. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I am generally THE person to argue with pricing policies. When I was signing up for my membership I asked every question I could think of to try to find the best deal - the crazy thing? The wonderful girl at the front literally took the time to walk me through each option and explained the benefits of the various packages. The more we talked the more I realized that everything they offer is catered specifically to each person's unique needs and schedules - which is why they prefer to discuss your goals beforehand instead of just taking your money and throwing you in a bed. The people writing negative reviews about this place have probably never been to a professional salon - if you want results, you don't generally buy these services a-la-cart. The location is immaculately clean, comfortably decorated, and well-managed. If you are seriously interested in tanning, come here and talk to one of the girls at the front - I guarantee you'll get the results you were looking for and maybe even learn a thing or two about proper tanning. Oh and btw, their beds actually work. read more

Copatan - Manhattan Beach - Cleanliness is next to godliness - Spray Tanning Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

I just went in to get a tan because of a groupon. I didn't purchase the groupon yet, trying to give the business my direct busines I haven't been tanning in a bed since I can't even remember. I was told that because the last time I was in the shop was 17 months ago (not their new client rule of 18 months) they couldn't offer me the introductory pricing. The last time I was there was for a spray tan, that was awful so I never went back. I was going in this time hoping for a new experience with a bed tan and instead I received poor customer service and a rude employee. read more

This place is pretty good as far as beds go! It is a real inconvenience the time they open though 11am is way to late by then the morning has gone! Most people love to tan before work or school but with this time it doesn't allow you to! I've spoken to many people who are detoured because of the times!! read more

Best tanning 'salon' experience ever. I say 'salon' because they offer more than tanning -- hydration bed, red light therapy, spray tan. I purchased a 3 month membership days before the pandemic was announced and now that they reopened, they honored my purchase. The staff and the owner, Wayne, are very friendly and knowledgeable. They take a lot of care with each customer. I love coming here. Thank you for all of your great customer service. read more

Nicole was awesome today. It had been several years since I had last been there and she was extremely helpful.....now I Glow!

Matt & Natalie are the best! If you're looking to get a spray tan, moisture surge in the hydro bed, or build your melanin before a trip so you don't burn, then any tanning location will do the trick. If you're looking to do any of the above AND make some new besties along the way, then Manhattan Beach cop-a-tan is your spot because Matt & Natalie are funny, sweet, caring, honest, and beautiful inside and out! They'll make you want to come back as often as you can just because of their positivity. Any company would be lucky to have them as employees; so good job Cop-A-tan for snagging these gems! I recommend a promotion, raise, bonus, time off, some sort of incentive because employees like this don't come around as often as we'd like. read more

I have been going to Cop-A-Tan at this location for a while now. I started at the location in Redondo but since I've moved this location is very convenient. It's a short drive from my place or I like to stop by on my way home from work. It is always clean and tidy and the staff is great. If you ever have any questions they are very knowledgeable and helpful. I like the variety of beds and packages that they offer. I also really like that they allow you to suspend your package if you need to. I did over the summer and it was perfect that it kicked right back in when fall started. read more

The ladies that work here always really sweet. Before Covid-19 the place was always really clean and sanitized. After COVID the only difference is that mala are required upon entering and leaving the facility and of course can't forget the temperature check at the door. read more

I just want to commend the service and pleasant experience that I have EVERY TIME I come to this location in Manhattan Beach. Amy is so awesome and always greets me, and gives me great service. She will do whatever it takes to get me taken care of too. Yesterday I came in and both Gold Beds were taken, and she offered to allow me a try on a better bed so I might upgrade, and although I declined, I felt she did it to get me served, not just trying to upsell me. Amy is always nice and in a positive mood which is refreshing after dealing with people that have a poor attitude at other business establishments. I highly recommend the Cop-a-tan at the Manhattan Beach location if you want a good tan with great service! read more
