Ben and the crew worked quickly and efficiently to deliver a quality road surface for our neighborhood. Immediately upon completion, we received 1 1/2 inches of rain which proved the value of their grading, but also caused them to do further additions to our construction in bank a ditch across a wooded area assisting runoff to an existing culvert. On their own, they improved the aesthetic look of our entrance to the main road and leveled the area along our mailboxes. We highly recommend Andrews Grading and Excavating for all of your road building and renovation needs. They will exceed expectations!

Groves was hired to level off a small field and prepare a level pad for us to put a building on for…read moreour goats. I showed him the area where we wanted the pad and told him the areas that I wanted him to scrape the hay off and the area where the pad was going to be located and where I didn't want him to do anything. There was a pallet made from pressure treated wood that I didn't want anything done with and a large pile of glass bottles that I didn't want anything done with by him. I instructed him to not go to that side of the field. He arrived on the scheduled day and we moved the animals that were in the field to an adjacent paddock. He began his work and cleared the area where the pad was going to be placed and then proceeded into the area that he had been instructed not to go and drove his equipment over the large pile of glass bottles shattering large numbers of them and depositing the rest of them in the dip in the field along with the pressure treated pallet and large amounts of dirt. I now have a field that is littered with broken glass that I will have to gather by hand and I will also need to dig out the pallet of wood and the unbroken bottles as they can't be left where they are for the animals to walk on. The pad that he put in is not square and is not suitable for the size building that we had planned to build. He left a large mound of shale in the driveway that I will need to pick up and move. He demonstrated poor judgement by driving over the bottles where he knew we keep animals. I would never hire him to do any work on my farm again. I feel that he is incapable of working without direct supervision and would not recommend his service to anyone who has animals or needs someone who can work without direct oversight.

Rather than mill up their mistake and resurface the drive correctly, Slonaker's poorly patched up the mess. Now, almost three years later, it looks terrible. New cracks emerge all the time. Other contractors estimate that the $5,130 Slonaker paving job is going to cost us up to $25,000 to fix. I cannot recommend Slonaker. Addendum: The owner has replied to my initial review and fabricated details about a tree being the cause for cracks. This is inaccurate, and certainly would not account for asphalt cracking all over the driveway, or the uncured "goo" in several locations on the drive. Plus, the job was under warranty, as per the contract. As for his crew spilling sealant all over the street in front of my neighbor's home, I'm surprised he admitted to it. I had not even mentioned that episode in an effort to keep my review focused on the major issue. But my neighbor was furious, and the incident is another example of Slonaker's bungling. The crew, who arrived six hours late, decided that hosing down the spilled sealant with water, which flowed into, and fouled, Craig's Run, was the ideal way to deal with the situation. We are very disappointed. We stand by my original conclusion: we cannot recommend Slonaker's.

Cannot recommend these guys enough! They respond to requests and come out quickly to do the work. Their prices are best around and they don't want to rip you off. Their work is outstanding and they clean up every bit of the work space before leaving. We've used them twice now for junk hauling and tree removal. These guys did an amazing job clearing out our yard waste. It was tough hardened WV clay that had been sitting for a year and was over grown. They came by same day I requested a quote and spent 3-4 hours that day taking care of it. They even weeded the patch of dirt on the left hand side and hosed down the drive after.
