Not sure how I have lived in the Sacramento region for over 25 years and I have never been to this…read moreparticular farmer's market before. I've heard a lot about it but have never had to chance to stop by. Yelp was hosting an event at one of the local vendor stands so I used the opportunity to check out the farmer's market in general. I can see why it is so popular. I really got a sense of community walking around to the different stands. I love the variety; not just a bunch of stands selling the same stuff. Everything from fresh fruit, veggies, meats, cheese to artisanal baked goods. Everything looked so fresh! It was my first time at the market so I had to pace myself. I did end up getting a variety of goodies. Fresh pressed apple juice, black berries, asian pears, ribeyes (the big splurge), etc. It is very busy so I had to park a couple of blocks away but the walking was good for me given everything I ate, bought and sampled there.

These are kiddos are now in 10th, 9th, and 7th grade. When we first moved to Davis, the Farmer's Market was our religious Saturday stop. Popsicles from Fat Face, tamales from Montoya's were always a staple. As well as apples from "Apple Steve" always happy to give a sample and a big smile and just felt like instant community. We don't get the chance to go as often as we used to with weekend sports, but still love the community vibe and enjoy having a local market to get fresh fruits and veggies!

After we ate and the group split off into a couple of directions, some of us went over to check out the event. It was getting to the main heat of the day, so staying in the shade as much as possible was a priority. There was a nice variety of vendors with different kinds of mostly handmade items. From beautiful jewelry to clothing, to crafty decor pieces, woodwork, suncatchers, and much more. It was a bit too hot for me to have full enthusiasm for shopping. I ended up find a spot to sit and people watch while Dear Hubby and our nieces were browsing. I was waiting on a musical group to get organized after a break to start playing. They were the main reason that I took off a star. It took them a very long time to start performing. That, and the heat - it didn't feel as fun and festive as I might have expected. That being said, I would definitely consider returning the next time we're in the area. There is a fair amount of free parking adjacent to the fair area of the park. I see from their website that they typically provide the event two Sundays a month throughout most of the year. That's a nice community offering on a regular basis. Overall, prices seemed fair and the vendors were very friendly.

I'm so glad we ended up going, there were so many amazing stalls and products being sold. There was jewelry, hair accessories, scarves, baby toys, skincare, candles, a vintage clothing store, wood carved goods, wood notebooks, and more. I ended up purchasing jiggling scent bubbles from K and D Kreations and a vanilla scented sugar scrub from a goat milk skincare stall. I also spotted a hand knit and crocheted stall that took custom orders, I took note of it for the future! There's food trucks selling handmade pies, a lemonade stand, coffee, and Hawaiian shaved ice. The live music is really relaxing. This is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area- and if you're not, no worries! I spoke with many of the vendors and they were very friendly and let me know that they tend to sell their goods at the farmers market in West Sacramento and other neighboring areas.

We realized that some good flour tortillas would really add to the beans and stewed chicken he made earlier in the week. We had it tonight and those tortillas really made the meal. We discovered their tortillas years ago and have been eating them ever since. They remind us of the homemade tortillas. Tortillas factories are hard to find in our area. They also sell tamales. They are ok. We get them when we're hungry and don't have any food at home. They used to be better, then they changed suppliers and they were too much masa and not enough filling. They changed suppliers again and now they are better, just expensive. If you're hungry give them a try. They aren't' too messy and you can eat them in your car. I enjoy a packet of hot sauce with them. My husband prefers them plain, but will put hot sauce on tacos and tostadas. It's pumpkin season now, October 11, 2026 around 6:40pm. With that being said they are overflowing with pumpkins. The large ones are $5.99. What a deal. THey have the sa
