I pre- booked an Uber from the Toronto Airport. I received a cancellation notice from Uber, that I did not instigate. I looked at my Uber app and it showed the driver still en route. All went smoothly with the ride. However, I discovered I was charged a $23.22 cancellation fee, as well as the ride fee $58.21. I tried to contact Uber about this...went round and round with their chat service - was told nothing could be done. It was imposible to get them to connect me to an agent! I am pretty frustrated with the Uber Eats app. I ordered four bean burritos from Quesada at 95 Saginaw Parkway, Cambridge. My reason, to treat some people dinner and someone had a dietary preference. To make the order easy for the restaurant we prepared each order the same, all the same toppings, all the same heat. We also chose to go to this location as we were impressed with the Carnitas Regular that weighed just under 1kg. On July 13, placed our four bean burritos and all the burritos weighed in at 390g. We knew something was wrong because the website dietary information said the burritos should weigh 582g when we enter all our toppings and sauces. In our picture on this review, you can see no black bean filling was actually in the burrito, it was prepared with mainly rice. So through the customer support on the Uber Eats App. I placed the complaint in, expecting a resolution because I do owe everyone another dinner because Quesada messed it up. Instead of being of received with a proper transparent review process and someone listening to our customer experience, I was pushed back with a generic message four times until someone said we had hit the refund policy limit. So apparently there is a refund policy limit, but when I first joined Uber Eats, I was never provided this policy- which I can understand because if people knew the rules of refund they may abuse or even make false reporting of order errors. In the end, Uber Eats did not want to arrive to a resolution on my order problems. Since joining, I have made 139.09$ in orders. From Quesada (Cambridge), I have made 60.67$in order through the app and am a regular customer at Quesada on Jamieson Parkway before I frequently ordered on Uber Eats. I am truly disappointed in the inaction Uber Eats takes for fraudulent merchants. P.S. some might ask, why you weigh your food. Someone in my office is monitoring their dietary intake and often watches their portion. Poor drivers, if they just calculate all their expenses, including car depreciation, insurance, gas, repairs and risk value they will realize they are making $13-$15/hour. Such terrible experience. When I first started using uber, they would handle my complaints and feedbacks with common sense. But now, they would NOT give refunds AT ALL, doesn't matter the circumstances. Even if there are missing items, damaged goods, it doesn't matter, NO REFUND. The last complaint that I wrote, I was just asking for a refund for the whipping cream since the entire carton came in squashed (not leaking yet) and it was covered in dirt. I was able to squish the carton back to its original shape but I still wouldn't dare to use it cause it was covered in dirt. I even provided photo proof and told them if they needed any additional proof, just let me know. this happened in November, 2024. I had pre-booked an uber to take myself and a friend to Buffalo airport. I made note on the order that we would have 1 large, and 1 medium suitcase. I thought it seemed pretty obvious that we were going on a trip. the day of the trip, I received a message that Kieran-probably not the correct spelling, I only saw the name very briefly-would be arriving in 10 minutes. I showed my friend, and as I was showing another friend it disappeared and i had a new message telling me my uber ride was successfully changed to the next day. i had not done that, and I didn't have time to try to find a number for uber, I drove to the airport and had to park in long term parking. I was pretty much livid by this point. but, we made the flight. we were in europe for 3 weeks, got back and long term parking cost me $365. if it wouldn't cost me more to take them to small claims court I most definitely would. I used Uber everyday for my 7 day vacation trip to Toronto. For the most part it was seamless and the drivers generally arrived within 7 minutes. What I've found though, that is very different to the USA, is that the Drivers tend to drop you off or pick you up on the opposite side of the road, when they can easily drop you off or pick you up on the side of the street that you're on. It's so odd...and annoying. I remember one time our driver came to pick us up and took up the lane on the other side of the road, even though it was a one way street with no traffic. What I've also noticed is that great reviews aren't necessarily a true indicator of whether a driver is good. You can have someone with glowing reviews that doesn't drive properly or isn't the most polite. All in all I will use Uber again because of the ease of logistics and the time. read more

BEWARE OF UBER DRIVER SCAM AND NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT FROM UBER In the fall of last year a $250 charge from Uber with no line description appeared on my credit card statement. After contacting Uber I was informed that the charge was to cover "damage to a drivers vehicle". I requested details of the claim and proof that I caused any damage and was initially told that they were unable to provide either at that time but would "request it from the driver" and get back to me. At that point I immediately called my credit card company to have the charges reversed and informed them of the situation that was unfolding. About a week later Uber sent me a picture of a crack at the very bottom of the back bumper of a car I took a ride in almost two months before the claim was made. I immediately forwarded the picture to my credit card company. The crack was basically fully under the back of the car on a part of the bumper closest to ground level. How a passenger getting into and out of the back seat of the vehicle could damage the very bottom of a bumper at the back a car cannot be explained with earthly physics and it was clearly damage caused by the driver backing into something, likely a curb and it certainly did not happen during my ride. At that point I informed Uber that the charge was clearly fraudulent and because Uber did not inform me a claim was made and that they provided me no due process or opportunity to address the claim that the charge had been reversed and that I would not ever be paying it. Even after Uber was made aware that the claim was clearly fraudulent they pushed back and informed me that they would be doing a further investigation but that the charge would likely be reinstated within 6 months time. At that point I informed them that if they attempted to collect on the fraudulent charge then I would be handing the matter over to my legal council. To make this situation even more shocking and ridiculous, is that the driver never even charged me for the $14 ride that I took where the damage allegedly took place. As a result the damage charge has not yet reappeared, likely because my credit card company is fully aware of the fraudulent charge. However now my Uber account and Uber eats account have been blocked by them and I can tell you that I couldn't care less. I will never use Uber or any of its platforms ever again. I would rather walk to my destination hungry in the pouring rain or blowing snow than give them another dollar. Basically Uber will happily apply damage charges without providing any warning, due process or proof. You have been warned. read more

As of right now, all my experiences with Uber and their drivers has been positive. Seamless. You click, you know who your driver is and there is no further hassle. Hope this stays this way for a long time. No issues with Uber except that some use hard-core scent freshener in their cars which is gross, but it could be worse. I decided to try Corner shop by Uber. I had a promo that gave me $30 off when your order is over $80 so why not give it a shot. So i picked my items and went to the check out to see their delivery fees, and a service fee consumed most of that $30 and they automatically assign a tip to a driver for doing just about nothing. I cant actually say this service is fair, they reach into your pocket for a bunch of fees making it completely unattractive as a service.
