Very extremely unhappy! I requested a ride and waited the 5 mins for it to connect. Was told no need to walk that a drive would arrive in 6 mins. Took him longer than 6 mins. 3He texted me he was here and when I responded that I did not see him, asked his exact location he replied "I make uturn" I saw his car icon drive off in all sorts of weird locations when he finally pulled up said I am here, I replied not one second later, that we will be right there since I finally saw him walked up to his car and he cancelled trip and drove off. Now I have been stuck in the freezing cold of down town San Jose and was charged a cancellation fee. My wish this Christmas is that taxis would be more Available. Today I had 4 UBER DRIVERS cancel my ride (back to back) before having to place a 5th order for a driver to pick me up from the same location. There are many issues with this: 1. This has happened numerous times (3 to be exact). 2. I am being charged for rides that never took place. (9 to be exact). 3. The inconvenience of having to wait over 40 minutes to get picked up. I am not only going to issue a formal complain to the BBB, but I am strongly considering legal action. I cannot reach anyone via telephone and to have to wait for an email is ducking accountability. My account is currently being compromised by your UBER Drivers who charge for services that are not being rendered. I overlooked this in the past, but in reflection of my bank account I see that this has become a serious problem! I have over $22.00 dollars in cancellation fees (that should not be there) in addition to being charged for pickups that never took place $43.00. Uber drivers are saying that I am on the ride before they even pick me up, thus billing me before the ride takes place or don't take place at all. Not only is this illegal, but Uber makes if very difficult for their customers to have resolution in such situations. I decided to try Uber today for the first time to get a ride from my workplace to my home (3.1 miles). I contacted Uber at 4:15 pm and was confirmed that my ride would come to pick me up at 4:30pm. Then I got a message indicating that the driver had to end another ride before and would be there at 4:45 pm, then at 4:59 pm, I just got the message "canceled" with no any explanation other than the driver had to cancel the ride. I was invited to try again to find another Uber drive ! Absolutely unprofessional ! I did not have the time to give it another chance and instead I walked to my place. Unfortunately, after purchashing an Uber Card ( presumibly good 4 ridesharing & uber eats) from my local grocery store, I'm having the "damnest" time completing my order! After going through ALL motions with an "existing acct.", Uber does NOT allow me to complete transaction due to, and I quote "that my phone number was not valid because of an existing acct." Bla,bla,bla. It doesn't give any option of possibly "updating" the info. claimed to be lacking. So after a very FRUSTRATING multiple attempts to use my card on one phone number, the app asked me to try another #, again without success. Now I just entered All the info from the uber card to my main phone #, "registered" that card with the phone. So NOW everyother # I try to complete transaction with I get the same forementioned message that was originally sent to me from uber. Uber customer service is the worst. I was charged almost 18.00 to go 6 miles on a Monday night at 10pm, not a holiday either. My receipt reflected a 14.64 total which they charged to my Mastercard and they charged 18.00 to my gift card ...which i had just purchased and put on my account . 14 emails and I am getting nowhere with these people!!!! If I could chose zero stars, I would.....what crappy customer service...with attitude. They charged my credit card for two trips I didn't take. There's not record of these trips in my history. I called this to their attention and they asked me to jump through hoops to prove they weren't my charges. I did everything the asked. I would give 0 stars if that were possible. I have noticed that the local (San Jose) Uber drivers do not follow the law nor are they courteous drivers. I work near the airport & they are constantly cutting me off & I have almost been run off the road. I understand you're in a hurry to get the job done, but this should be done in a safe manner. At a red light, the driver was in the right turning lane, me on the left. Uber sucks. Requested ride while at SJC. app says arrival time about 25 mins, I accept, app immediately changes arrival time to 1 minute! Hubby in bathroom... I wait ... it takes another minute or two. I call driver to make sure he won't be waiting for us unnecessarily. Driver says he'll be at area 7. (He is very hard to understand... speaks broken English). I look out and see area 6 and area 8. But not 7. We madly rush out to 8... I call again, he says in white Prius, I tell him I don't see 7 he says just walk all the way down past taxis and buses... I say but where is 7? No answer. I give up and just say ok, and hang up. Maybe 6 to 7 mins have passed since I accepted ride. So I canceled. My hubby used his app and connected and we had a car in about 4 mins. Btw, area 7 was across the street from 6 and 8 but he never alerted me to that... and that's because he speaks and hears broken English. Ugh. I complained to Uber and it took multiple emails to finally convince them to return my money - but oh no! They just gave me a credit even though I had already told them I would be using Lyft from now on. 3 more emails and they still wouldn't let go of 5 bucks to save a client relationship. Received an Uber quote from SJC to Santa Clara - about 4 miles at 1am for $11. No traffic, no accidents - smooth sailing. Winds up being $14 before tip. There was a taxi on the pad that shouted he'd match Uber. Should have listened. This is the second time Uber has quoted a price and been over. First time was over by $6. Firstly, my pickup location was at the hotel deanza, the driver stopped across the street and across the intersection at a citibank, from which point he called me. I could see him from where I was, and told him he was at the wrong location and asked him to drive to the hotel where I was, and pick me up. Once in the car he started harassing me for not walking across two large downtown busy intersections. He said, did you not see me? I said I did, and told you that you were at the wrong location, he responded by telling me, "god will come for you." There was another uber pool passenger in the car, it became very uncomfortable at that point for my wife and i and the other passenger. This driver needs to be removed permanently from Uber's service. I told the driver after the ride was over that it was his responsibility to pick us up at the location we provided. And further, that we are his customer paying him to do a service, which if he is unwilling to do he may simply decline in the future. I'd rather have waited for a polite driver to pick me up at the location I was at, rather than had to sit through a ride with a driver who blamed me for not meeting him where he was, and then getting very inappropriate and making statements about god coming for me and my wife. there are too many problems with Uber 1. some drivers are not smart and they don't even know the city, they can only read Uber app's map. Sometimes they can't find the pickup point, although all they need are looking at my point on the app map and stop by that point. and when they can't find my location, they always just stop somewhere and ask me to walk to them. 2. the app has bugs, there was one time my address was not on the app, pickup location got pinned to cross the street. I crossed the street. but later the driver stopped at somewhere required me to cross back the street and walk 0.2 miles. I asked the driver to drive back to pick me up, he refused and dropped me and picked up some other people close to him. 3. pirce is going up. for example, for similar kind of cars and I tried same distance, taxi takes $26 + tips, Uber takes $24. Now I only use Uber when it has promotions. Some of the Uber drivers are disappointing, making Uber looks bad. also I understand there are too many address and it's easy to make mistakes, but Uber has to correct it's own bugs on the map. read more

Definitely would not recommend them as a driver. They cheat when paying drivers. Here's how it works. Drivers are told they get 75% of fare while Uber gets 25%. But when drivers and passengers exchange fare info, passengers get charged $20 (for example) while drivers are shown that passengers got charged $12 so driver share of $12 is $9. This has happened so many times when as a driver I ask the passengers what they paid. Uber steals from drivers and passengers. I'm done with this crooked company which feels it is above the law. As a society we have make a conscious decision where we put our hard earned money. I will use Lyft for now until a better alternative comes up. read more

Uber is very unprofessional. Their drivers are very rude, I had never used Uber before. My Uber driver never once came to my location, she claimed she did but didn't see me. I was stand in the open & not one car drove by that she described was hers. We were on the phone together and she hung up on me. She then decided to cancel my trip after 15/20 mins of us looking for her, left my friend & I Downtown. I was charged even though she had never come. Uber take note: if you have people driving for you make sure they know the area very well because it's unbelievable that your drivers can cancel on people because they can't find the location. read more

Worst service I have ever encountered. I ordered dinner for my 10 year old and myself while on vacation. After waiting about 45 min the delivery person Marlon called me - said he was in the lobby, could not park and so I had to come down and get it. My son was starving- I go down and could not find him. I asked a hotel staff, realized I had left my phone in the room and go back, get it and call his number. By then he had called a couple of times, canceled the order and left!! We were charged for a meal we never ate in a matter of minutes. In the meanwhile, I tried calling the phone number on file - it was transferred to uber eats that kept repeating that my phone number was not on file and would not accept my call. I wrote them a strong message, deleted the app from my phone and went with DoorDash right away. DoorDash is keeping me updated all the way - from waiting for the order. I called Uber today at 4:10 pm needing to get to downtown Mtn View. I got a 6 minute arrival time . From there it went to 4 then 5, then 8 then 4,5, 6, 3 ,8 etc. The end result was that at 5:45 I cancelled having missed my dinner reservations and ruining our evening and that of the 8 people we were to celebrate with (my wife's homecoming). If they had given me a true time at the outset, we could have salvaged the evenings. I would strongly recommend that one should not utilize Uber if you have any deadline to meet. I was a first time Uber user that had two pick-ups in San Francisco canceled by the Uber drivers within ten minutes of each other. My wife and I waited on the curb in front of the Marines Memorial Hotel the entire time. In both instances, we received a message that the driver had canceled the pick-up. However, we were charged a $5.00 fee by Uber purportedly because we were not available for pick-up. I challenged this with Uber and they ultimately (after much back and forth) stated they would credit my Uber account with a $5.00 credit that I could apply the next time I use their services. I replied that given my experience it was doubtful I would be using them in the future and requested they credit my credit card for the $5.00. They have steadfastly refused to do this. This is not a customer friendly or focused company and I would not recommend them to anyone. Lyft would probably be a better option. read more
