Uber concept is nothing less than awesome, fast and great value. Take for example that the posted rates to travel from SNA to LAX via cab is $95 for a 40 mile trip. With uber it was $50. Taking the Disneyland resort express is about $30 a person, when with uber its $25 total. Ubers fares are superior but they are in the news lately as they profiting at the expense of their drivers. I feel bad for them and always tip them. They are stuck driving 5 - 10 minutes to pick up people for a 5 mile ride, thats like $10 for 30 minutes of their time assuming that they drive back to their original destination. These drivers range from students to parents. Uber needs to increase the minimum fare and the mileage rate slightly. There is plenty of remaining value for passengers, uber corporate to pay a decent wage to drivers. If your the passenger, the least you can do is treat them as you would your bartender, server and tip them. read more

Absolutely hate it. I couldn't get past logging in. They would text me code yet kept telling me it was already in use when I would try to finish my profile. Their on line Help emailed back once to say they updated my phone number but they never responded again. I tried for an hour and a half to get a ride. I then downloaded Lyft and love them! From registering with lyft and getting picked up took 10 minutes! Super user friendly process. I wish I had not wasted time trying to log in to uber! read more

Uber and Lyft suck. They take advantage of drivers and pay them less than minimum wage . Driver make $5 to $8 an hour when they are in a bind and need cash quick and can work anytime they want. They use their cars as their ATM machines and don't think about depreciation , maintenance,insurance, and the high risk of getting into an accident when they are multitasking between keeping the Riders entertained, paying attention to their navigation tools and watching the road while Uber is constantly pinging them to take on more rides. read more

I have been a very big fan of uber up until my trip yesterday. I ordered the uber and it said my trip was going to be $18.68 and it continued to say this until I arrived at my destination. When I arrived it said my receipt was $55.90 and that is how much is being take out of my bank. I then reached out for some help from uber and had to tell them multiple times that I did not order an uber black which they have told me is what I ordered and have not approached the subject of changing the price once arrived and are continuing to blame it on me. They gave me $20 in credits but I am still out almost $10 and will not be using the credits as I do not plan to ride with uber again if they are going to change the pricing as soon as I arrive at my destination. read more

I first started using Uber about a year ago and I thought it was awesome! I thought it was a great idea. Now I just started using it again a lot more because I do not have a car as of right now. So when I got to work I would use them. I work at a pet place and I am allowed to bring my dog with me. She is a service dog so bring her with me most of the times. So what I would do is ahead of time call the drivers and make sure if it is alright with them before then come all the way to where I am at. So today I had work and I called an Uber and I called the guy and he said he usually doesn't but he will this time. He gets to my house and I get into the car and he was an absolute jerk! He tells me that he can't do this and to get out of his car. He told me to get out of his car three times. I purposely called ahead of time so this wouldn't happen! This has happened to me a few times with Uber! You are not suppose to decline dogs if they are a service dog! If I could I would give them no stars! From now on I am using Lyft. I scheduled a two part ride, first stop was for me to get food and then off to my house. When I came out with my food the driver was gone, he left with my belongings. As far as uber is concerned, the items were "lost", even though I had the expectation that the driver would be outside with my stuff, waiting as I had scheduled. I contact uber a flurry of times and they were unable to get a hold of the driver (at this point I don't think they do anything to contact drivers, they just remove themselves from the situation and advise you to call the police), the next morning the driver text me with this weird excuse about someone kicking his car in the parking lot, but he did admit to having my belongings. Everytime I would reach out to uber to get an answer to where my stuff was, I would get a completely different answer. Sometimes it was "yes the driver has it" and others it was "we are not responsible, call the police". This company has ZERO interest in customer service, its all a sham to make people think they are being taken care of. And all the advertisements about "if you spend x dollars you get a higher level of service" is complete BS, you get nothing extra, no phone lines to call, NOTHING. I usually spend $1,000+ a month on ride sharing, I'll be taking Lyft from now on. And just to reiterate, this company does not care about you, all they want is your money, and in some cases, let their drivers get away with theft! read more

I used the uber app for the first time, my sister use it so i gave it a try. I confirmed my pick up around 10:22pm and in the app said it was 8 min away so when i booked it, the drive call and said I was at the airport no I said I was next to the airport so I was at work I needed a ride to a bus stop only 6 minutes away And bus came at 10:42 pm and i get out @ 10:30 so I said I have enough time to get there (keep in mine that was the last pick up that night for the bus) on corner on main/von karman I was @ red hill /paularino in Costa mesa . Then this guy cancel my pick up (I wonder why he not making a lot of money that sum bullshit I NEEDED that ride no matter if it only cost six dollars you still making money you gretty montherfucker) i had to walk to Bristol/paularino to catch the late late bus. be very careful when you use Uber, recently i was at a hotel in Anaheim and requested a ride...it was taking forever so i texted the driver to make sure he could accommodate us, he responded in Korean! i msg'd back requesting English and he said "ok". minutes later i received a message saying the trip was cancelled! we had to get to the airport! i requested a second uber which again was taking too long, the app said 3 minutes (i think that is their generic), after about 10-15 minutes, i called the driver, he said he still had a fare and he had to stop and go to the bathroom and it would be at least another 15 minutes!!! then suddenly, that request disappeared as well!!! we were getting frantic as we didn't want to miss our plane, so, i requested a third Uber, again it was taking far too long so i called him. he couldn't find our hotel...what? he has a GPS and were in a hotel across the street from disneyland and you can't find us? he finally showed up and drove to the airport but took us to the back side not to the entrance. we had to direct him on how to take us to the airport entrance. by the time he dropped us off and we finally got thru security, they were paging our names as the plane had boarded!!! uber "apologized" and said they would fully refund my original payment method but never did and now they are backtracking and won't refund. not a happy many time Uber customer :( read more

We tried Uber for the first time on Christmas eve. The ap worked fine and the driver arrived in less than five minutes. He was pleasant and professional. We have tried every regular cab service with generally unpleasant experiences. I would definitely state that Uber is getting a bum rap from other posters. Both of my in-laws drove for Uber and had horrible experiences when they were involved in accidents and the both stopped working for them as a result. Then to top it off I just spent the last 4 hours trying to access my father in laws account to get his tax information for him but we were unable to access the account. We followed the prompt to create a new password but every time we were taken back to the origional screen. We tried emailing the company but have yet to hear back. With taxes due tomorrow we cant wait the 48 hours to hear back form them. The do not list a phone number except in another county and in order to get any information you need to log into your account, which we could not do. I found a number for Uber eats and called them thinking since its the same company maybe they could help. They were useless and told me i had to log in to get the number or wait for them to respond to our email. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told they wouldn't be able help either. When I insisted I was told they were busy and would call me back. I would not recommend working for this company nor would I recommend using them. Their customer service is horrible and if you have any problems good luck getting any help. I will never use them and will be sure to tell anyone thinking about using them or working for them what a horrible company they are. read more

Although I have loved the availability and service for the past few years, I am leaving Uber for its competitor. I got an uber Sunday evening and knew it wasn't going to be cheap but ordered it at the rate they gave ($452.33). I was in Palm Desert with a few buddies traveling to Mission Viejo and this, ordered UberBlackSUV. I didn't mind the fare and really thought it was worth the money. This is until I woke up Monday morning and saw 3 additional separate charges. $116.29, $139.55 and $250.00. I was shocked and sent an email over the app telling me of the overcharges since I agreed first to the amount shown on the app. If it was going to be $958.17, why not show that on the app? I would've kindly declined and not ordered it. This business is like shopping at Costco. You pay the amount marked on the product. You don't get additional charges after the fact and over doubling the amount agreed too. Absolute theft. I am filing this with BBB. read more

The problem with Uber that irks me is they assume you are wrong and the Uber driver is somehow right. While in NYC last Dec. we were at a Chinatown hotel waiting to be taken to another hotel in Manhattan. The area around the Chinatown hotel was under all manner of street construction but no completely closed roads. So I use Uber for the very first time (I used Super Shuttle to get there-5 stars) and the Uber driver is about 8 min. away and you can see him on the Uber app map getting to you, however our driver seemed to have gotten lost and started going in different directions and never got within 2 blocks of our location. There were four of us waiting at curbside with two of us watching his progress, after awhile he leaves the area. He never got close, I subsequently got somekind of fee charged for 'not seeing our driver pass by', yeah right. So I request another Uber ride, this time another guy shows up, he turns out to be a jerk of a driver, discourteous is the best word, on three occasions in bumper to bumper traffic he does not let other drivers signaling trying to get into the traffic from a parking spot. I later point this out to the Uber people and they reply and apologize about the unsafe driving he subjected us to, hey not unsafe just discourteous at worse it would have been a very minor fender bender, we were going at 1-2 mph. Anyway after a couple of email communications with Uber they dropped all charges and so we got a free ride for four people going about 6 miles. But Uber needs to change their attitude, their online communication channel has no option for asking for a refund like a charge for a no show driver who they assume always shows up (but doesn't) so you get charged. I ended up clicking on a 'payment' option, none for refunds to open up a communication channel that way via email. Jerks. Next time I'll use Lyft. read more

So. Fun fact about Uber guys! Theyre customer service sucks!! My boyfriend called because he had an issue with a promotion. A promotion in which he's done before where if he completes 10 trips he'll receive a $10 bonus and if he completes 20 trips he'll receive a $25 bonus. Tonight he completed the 20 trips and only received a $15 dollar bonus. Which if youve never done the promotion before wouldn't be an issue because 10+15=25 right? Well no. The promotion makes it sound like you'll get $35 total not 25$ total. We explained this to Salimar and he wasn't really understanding where we were coming from and We weren't getting anywhere so we asked for a supervisor. We were first told there was no available supervisor. So we offered to wait. He put us on hold and came back saying that there was again no available supervisors that they were all busy either in a meeting on break or something else. And again we insisted we'd wait. He then proceeded to tell us that a supervisor wouldn't talk to us about this issue cuz there's nothing else they could do about it! Like what supervisor refuses to talk to a person who works for that company! He continued to lie about where the supervisor were, why they wouldn't talk to us, and continued to belittle us and continue to say that a supervisor wouldn't talk to us. He told us he would put us on hold and get a supervisor and then had the audacity to HANG UP ON US! We've never had service like this! Ever! So long story short Salimar refused to help us with our issue and refused to let us talk to a supervisor. All because we complained about a promotion being misleading! read more

Remember UBER is not a taxi company and you will ride in a much better vehicle that is cleaner and better maintained. It will also smell a lot better than a taxi. More importantly the UBER drivers are doing you a service voluntarily and not because they have to drive that taxi day in and out and night in and out! The Uber drivers are usually cheerful and seem genuinely excited to be of service to you in taking you to any designation you desire, day or night. Tipping is optional and I have yet to be asked for a tip from any UBER driver, but I do tip! Give UBER a try and you will be amazed at the service you receibve and the reduced prices. And best of all it goes right on your credit card so you do not have to worry about having enough cash to pay for your ride. read more

The driver was great. Uber itself is awful. They charged the wrong credit card on my account I have 2 associated one is my personal card the other is my company card. I asked them to reverse the charges on my company card and they charged my company card 4 additional times!!!!!! I'm so upset I have to explain to my company what happened and may get in a lot of trouble. I will never use this company again. And now they are saying they cannot switch payment methods. Sketchy and unsafe. Our family of 5 was at Disneyland until 9:30 one night and needed a ride to our hotel a few blocks away. We waited quite awhile for the Uber XL driver to arrive and we could watch his progress. He was on the way, then all of a sudden he cancelled after we had been standing curbside in the main dropoff/pickup area at Disneyland. My husband walked over to his vehicle to find out what was going on and he said we weren't there and he scheduled someone else. Well, we obviously were there. We called on another Uber XL driver, who took another 30 minutes to show up. Creepily he sat there for almost half an hour occasionally staring at us a few feet away as we waited for the new driver to show up. The new one wouldn't pull into the pickup area, so we had to cut through the hedges onto the busy Blvd to get into his car! So we later find out driver number one charged us two times for a non-existent ride plus a cancellation fee! We contacted Uber when we got back to our hometown and they said they would credit us the cancellation fee to our Uber account. We said we wouldn't be using Uber again, so they agreed to credit our Visa. A few days later, no credit. We contacted Uber again and they said after "reviewing" the situation they would not credit us the cancellation fee! Buyer beware. read more

So my boyfriend and I went to Sutra and got an Uber to take us home. My boyfriend got sick, so.we had to leave early. We were on the freeway driving back home and my boyfriend threw up in the car. Obviously the driver was upset, which is understandable but where things really started to go left is when he pulled over on the side of the freeway told my boyfriend to get out of his car. Not to mention my boyfriend was sitting on the side where his door opens to incoming traffic! He put his life in immediate danger. He then threatened to leave us on the side of the freeway if we didn't pay $80 for his car to get 'detailed'. (the seats were leather) So we either had to pay $80 or get stranded. We paid him and he took us home. Just when things couldn't get worse, there was an additional charge made my Uber of $100! So in total we were charged $80 from the driver, $25 for the ride itself and $100 for...we don't even know. We have left several emails and haven't received a response. Just have to rant here. I use uber often from John Wayne Airport to home and love the service. This morning I decided to use it to go to the airport based on friends and uber drivers saying there would be no worry about getting a car in a timely manner. Just to be safe I asked for the car to come 15 minutes earlier than normal. I got "no X car available, try later". I kept trying for 25 minutes to no avail. I was frantic. I selected the XL grade and got the same message. Finally I pushed the Select grade and it said instantly "driver enroute" but it was not my address, it was a 1/2 block away. It said 5 minutes but it was about 8 and I had to walk to the address to make sure I didn't miss the driver. The guy picked me up, took me to my house to get my luggage and he said it would be 20 minutes to the airport. Then he misses the airport exit, has to take the next ramp and go back. Of course I don't know the fare because the estimate option never showed. Once I was settled at my gate I got the email that said the ride took 30 minutes so I was charged extra because it should have taken 20. And the fare was $57 when it should have been $16-19. I am still mad at the whole experience. Made even worse because I assured my husband this would be easy and we would save so much money over our usual taxi fare. What a big mistake. I was totally out of control, there was nothing I could do about any of it. I'm so disappointed. I wanted this to work but it's not dependable so I can't use it to go to the airport again. read more

I will never use Uber again, beware! I have used them in the past and while never a great experience it was tolerable. Last Sunday we needed the get the Port of Los Angeles, About a block down the road the driver apologized that his air conditioner was broken, it was 85 degrees out so not so comfortable, we didn't have time to change cars so we tolerated it. The cost was about $45.00, very acceptable. When we arrived at LAX last night my husband had trouble with his phone but was able to get a cost of 130.00, bad enough but we had to get home. He wasn't able to accept the ride so he used my phone. Two minutes later the cost was $168.00, absurd but again we're seniors so we accepted the ride. When we got in the car there was a terrible odor, I really thought I was going to get sick! Anyway I rode with the window down all the way home. I will either drive or get a shuttle in the future, I wish I could give them zero stars! read more

Great way to get to know people. Well, people Not ALL Drivers are jerks and PLEASE do not lump us all into one category. I ALWAYS Offer open doors. I ALWAYS say thank you and treat people with respect. Yes, I am a bit chatty, but I do shut up if the customer is on the Phone or something like that. Don't assume I can read your mind either..... I don't EVER turn down a ride unless I cannot get to a customer on time. I would rather let someone else pick you up then make you late. Maybe I am in the minority, but If I want future business, I will be polite, open and offer a good experience. By the way, if your driver gives you good service, please rate him/her a 5 or at least a 4. UBER makes it a sin to have anything below a 4. My rating is 4.67 and is always above 4... but I get an email every week that tells me I am BELOW AVERAGE..... To me a 3 is average, a 4 is good or very good and a 5 is Excellent or perfect. None of is perfect so please do not expect me to . If you get into my car, I will treat you with much respect and give you a ride you will enjoy.
