Unbelievable. .Drivers shouldn't be allowed to accept rides and not pick up the rider, then drive away from the pick up location for miles refusing to cancel ride when said ride was reserved a day or two in advance. Not only did she cause me to have to reschedule my appt and get charged for it, but Uber charged me cancellation fee too. I ordered Uber for pick up at UCI Medical Center and I sat in the pick up zone and waited. I saw cars drop off and pick up but not mine. Finally my phone rang and it was my driver. He said "where are you!" I answered back with the same. "I'm by the umbrella he said. I said I'm In the pick up zone, come get me. He said no, he didn't know where that was. My experience is great. My driver Patrick was very nice. His Jetta was very clean. But he had to put my walker in the trunk. It has pockets that aren't ver secure. I booked Uber Reserve "Black" for our family trip to Hawaii thinking paying a little extra would provide a more professional experience. Chinh not only tried to sneak past me without picking me up at the entrance of my complex, but he was rude and unapologetic about being late when I recognized him from his photo in the Uber app and tried to stop him as he tried to sneak out. He said he had another client to pick up. I was unable to get another ride to the funeral, and I was also unable to properly pay my respects or get a refund from Uber as the company offers almost no recourse in situations like this. This is the second time we've called for an Uber and they didn't show up. The first time we called about 5:30AM for a ride to LAX. The app showed the driver was en route, but never he showed. We ended up with a cab. Next time we scheduled a ride, paid extra for scheduling, got a confirmation with driver name etc. for 5:15 AM pick up to SNA. Driver never showed again. This time we had to drive our own car and park at the airport due to the closeness of our boarding time. We did make it. Uber was unresponsive both times. Wife catches the free hotel shuttle to Irvine Marriott a mile away, for her conference, saying I might catch the Disneyland Express parked nearby. I'm on my own to find a way to Disneyland, 14 miles away. Rent a car? Parking at Disneyland is $20 a day, and overnight parking at the hotel is an additional $29 a day. No, Bueno. I find the ride sharing area right next to the airport, whip out my cell phone, open up the loaded Uber app, with it asking for a new credit card number. My old credit card number is defunct, and so Uber would not let me on in Sunnyvale at 445am that morning. The trickiest thing about using Uber in a large strange area like an airport is finding the exact pickup point. Fortunately the Uber GPS was able to zero in where I was supposed to be. Uber X is available, thank goodness. Not like Honolulu airport where ridesharing prohibited. Even nearby Long Beach airport only recently starting in Feb 2017 allowed ridesharing. All those taxi drivers fighting to protect their investments in purchases of or rent of taxi medallions. I key in my destination, Disneyland, and Uber gives me an estimate of $26 for Uber X. I confirm the fare, and a mug shot of driver Edwin pops up on screen, complete with the vehicle make and model, and vehicle license plate number, and an estimate of time of arrival. 4 minutes later, Edwin, with a 4.95 rating, arrives in a 2016 Honda Civic, the most popular car for ride sharing drivers as I shall see. I get in the front passenger seat -some drivers put stuff in the front seat to discourage passengers from sitting there. Edwin doesn't know my destination, as ride sharing drivers can't turn down rides to distant destinations like LAX. We talk a lot about our cars and our car history on the 13.68 mile drive over 19:59 minutes, as I have owned a 1990, 1998 and 2017 Honda Civic in my life. Edwin is a 30ish Hispanic with an entirely different outlook on cars, perhaps from the barrios of East Los Angeles, where old Honda Civics are prime targets for stealing! Edwin turns off the Uber app at Disneyland with a fare of $26.08, and on the cell phone screen pops up my input for the driver rating. In front of him, I give him the maximum rating of 5, check off all 4 categories: clean car, good conversationalist, courteous, good driver, and tip him $5 off the credit card. Edwin then gives me the maximum rating of 5 as a passenger. You scratch my back and I will scratch yours! Yes, I could have taken the Disneyland express for $20 one way per person, but that bus stops at every hotel to discharge passengers along the way. This would be the last time I take Uber, as I would take Lyft 7 times in the next 4 days, but that is another review. Taxi? Taxi would cost $45 before tip. On my last Uber trip to the airport, the driver never showed and I had to drive myself at the last minute. STRESS!! I almost missed the plane and had to park in a structure that charges $63 a day. I am sorry UBER but I refuse to throw away my money when you price hike your rides. I have a ton of clients that visit the Anaheim resort area so I often frequent the area. Instead of driving and having to deal with hotel parking I use ride share apps or the Mister drops me off. Tonight the Mister was asleep and I needed to get home. I can clearly see the excessive amount of drivers waiting in the resort area. I checked the app around 11pm and saw the $17.98 rate to go within the same city limits. Less than a hour later the same ride jumped to the high $30s. Why? Because you know Disneyland is closing and people will need rides. Not cool Uber. What else is not cool is taking the Farthest route possible to get home. We don't need to take the freeway. I wish you gave the passenger different options on which route to take. Uber may be great in some areas. But not so good in resort areas. By the way, your competition cost me your original rate before you doubled it when it got close to midnight. read more

I received several more texts saying a driver was en route, then a text saying the driver had cancelled and I'd need to request another ride. This ride was for a medical procedure and I panicked.
