Two other reputable ride services were also not available - Lyft won't carry teens without parents and HopSkipDrive does not allow for late reservations. She could have driven herself, but I was not ready for her to do this yet. LOL! I looked on Yelp and found Dave. Not only did he drive her from Huntington Beach to LA with less than two hours notice, he was so nice about it. He kept me informed and my daughter said he was very friendly and professional. It cost more than rideshare options, but it was so worth it! I highly recommend Dave and would trust him with my kiddo again! We will definitely be back.

What if I make the flat payment of $110 and they drop me off in the middle of nowhere? He did turn off the radio when I told him that "I don't enjoy listening to the radio". The van is spacious for the commute and he did not drive dangerously, obeyed all the traffic laws and such. I did not feel unsafe, in that sense. Upon arrival at the destination though- he did something strange again. He demanded that I pay the $110 before he helps me unload the luggage. I thought that it was pretty rude and bad customer service, to do so. I paid the amount (which is a hefty sum, compared to an Uber ride for the same distance), and he did unload my luggage (albeit a bit begrudgingly). I also thought it was weird that there was a blue and white fan towards his face, on the driver's side. I made sure to sit behind the passenger side, away from the fan. He mentioned that he is only one of the employees. The man I spoke to on the phone yesterday to book the ride was more polite.

I'm traveling out of town and didn't want the expense of leaving my car parked at the airport for a week. I called in the morning to schedule a cab at 4:30 that afternoon. The guy on the phone sounded like he was familiar with where to send my cab, almost to the point of making me feel like a dumbass for over explaining where I was so there would be no problems. At 4:35 no cab. I called to see what was going on and the dispatcher told me the guy was probably waiting for me on the opposite side of my building. Then the driver calls me and we determine he's about a mile or so down the road. At 4:41 he pulls up and tells me he's cash only. No prior warning of this during any prior discussion with these guys, not enough cash on hand and no time to get more. Driver says he'll call someone that can take a card and drives away. At 4:47 I call dispatch to find out how long until the next guy shows up and the dispatcher doesn't know anything about it and is surprised by the cash only demand of the original cab driver. I told him to forget it and got in my car and drove while I could still make my flight. Cab companies are going the way of the VHS player, brick phone and fax machine and this is why cab companies will cease to exist in 5 years.

Don't trust the Ride Yellow app!…read more After seeing other kids being picked up from my kid's school by Yellow Cab (Yellow Ride) I thought I'd use them to pick up my kids when I was unable to do so. The app is a bit clunky but eventually I booked a total of eight rides. All seemed fine until my kid called me when the cab didn't show up. This happened four more times! You can't call direct to speak to customer service, you have to pretend to want to book a ride and then not give the automatic system what it needs, it then gets you a real person. They were very apologetic but couldn't tell me why the cab didn't show up and why the app cancelled the ride. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after the first time and as I was stuck with no other option I kept the other bookings. But again and again, no one showed up. Don't trust this service!
