This driver, Naquita, was not friendly. She did not speak and when I spoke to her she answered with one word answers. I was leaving that day from Louisiana to take a greyhound bus to Chattanooga Tennessee. When I realized I left my purse in her Uber I did everything I could to get it back before I got on that bus, but I couldn't get in touch with her. She basically stole my purse. I offered to send her money to ship it to me, but she refused. At one point she told me she was going to throw my purse away! Customer Service was absolutely no help at all. I had all of my important documents in my wallet.. Drivers license, Social Security card, and credit cards, Everything I needed. I also had other stuff in my purse. I really wanted to Get back. I had a UBER ride reserved 3 days in advance to take me to The Hospital to have a pacemaker implant. The Driver was to pick me up at 415 to 430 AM to go to the Hospital. At 430am I received a text no driver was available, Thank You IUBER You left me standing in the rain waiting for you. I have used Uber in Baton Rouge a couple of times now. My sister has lived in Baton Rouge several times on and off the last decade or so. I was going to a shindig of hers recently and stayed at a hotel nearby. I took an Uber both ways because I knew parking would be an issue. I feel like the fares were reasonably priced. My first ride was a guy who normally drives in New Orleans, but had a fare that took him over to Baton Rouge, which happens on occasion from what I understand. Hes fluent in English, Spanish and Arabic and He is honestly the most professional, friendly & kind driver I've ever had. We had amazing conversations & he had so much wisdom to share. I took Uber twice on my stay in Baton Rouge, LA during the first week of June 2016. I gotta say that it's one of the best innovation since the invention of the iPhone! Thankful for Uber for being the alternative to taxis. One of the reasons why I love Uber is the timeliness of arrival and the friendliness of the driver. Even at 3:00am in the morning, there was an uber driver willing and able to pick me up and drive me to the BTR airport for a 5:30am flight out to ATL. The first instance of using uber in Baton Rouge was upon arrival at the airport on a random Wednesday June 1, 2016. Some cities do not allow airport pickups from the terminal / baggage claim itself, but apparently Baton Rouge allows this and uber drivers are there not advertising themselves that they're there. I found that out when my driver pointed that out to me. I assumed the no airport pick up rule and walked about 1/2 mile away from the airport terminal to schedule an Uber pick up. The ease of scheduling the pick up was flawless and you just need to point the pin to your location, put your destination in, and request the ride. Can't be any simpler than that! The ride from the airport for the first Uber ride to my destination, a car rental place on Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, was fast and nice. The driver didn't have to make any detours. The driver was interesting and fun. He was funny and it seemed like he loved life while driving full time for uber at the present time. Uber can be found anywhere they drive, although you may want to check their website before flying to that destination, since I had come across previous places in Canada where they're not there and I didn't know. Everything is through the Uber app, which can be found online through your device's online App Store. You plug your credit card in the settings and you'll get immediately charged for the ride. It's pretty simple. I usually use uber when car rental prices are usually freaking higher than what I normally pay, so booking an off airport rental car agency was the next best thing then using uber to facilitate the move from airport to destination. Not sure what rates that they use, but there's an ride estimator / approximate tool on the uber app that will let you know how much you ride will cost - relatively speaking. Compared to a taxi, this is probably one of the best modes of transportations you can go with that's fast and convenient, without breaking the bank. While car rentals and the public transit can be usually better in their own respects, Uber and other ride sharing services are great for those who are on the go but don't want to spend extra for traditional taxi services. The other Uber ride used in my time here in Baton Rouge is that of the 3am Uber ride to the airport from my hotel. So so glad that Uber is there 24 hours a day. The lady who picked me up was nice and had to ask for my name first before getting in. It's a safety precaution that's always needed just in case something we're to go down at 3am in the morning. The second ride was pleasant and positive. Enjoyed this ride and thankful for those uber drivers who are available at those hours. For what it's worth, uber is a great service to the community at large. While traditional taxi companies are complaining, it's a good way for private individuals to make extra money by doing ride share programs with their own vehicles. Often times, taxi cabs are kind of nasty, but riding with uber drivers are always nice. Drivers that I've encountered are friendly and have a nice outlook on life. 5 stars for sure. After using Uber n DC first and multiple times in Baton Rouge, this was my first disappointing ride. I think some of the drivers have realized that if they go 5 miles under the speed limit, they make more money. After each trip the rider rates the driver. This provides an opportunity for Uber to see who is representing their brand and not. In my case the feedback I gave led to an email from Uber with a credit for my ride. Baton Rouge is on the map now! Competition for Yellow Cab is long since overdue. I've only had one round trip Uber experience in Baton Rouge and several more in Atlanta, GA, but no doubt that all of the rides have been spot on. I've heard random theories that they drive slowly to get more $ as people say about cabs too, but that's never been my experience. I even rode solo in Atlanta at night but didn't feel scared with the drivers I had even though they were always men. Also, the cars are always new and in great shape as Uber requires of their drivers. I also love how Uber is so easy to request a ride, see a pic of your driver before they get to you, and track their status getting to you. Only drawback with this is that those without smartphones can't use Uber. I wish Uber allowed for other options to request rides as I know several people without smartphones who really wanted to try Uber instead of the sketchy alternative Yellow Cab. Perhaps there's no turning back with modern technology though. Another fun tip: Check in with yelp.com for your rides, and you get a coupon code. Uber has also supposedly helped reduce the incident of accidents thanks to less drunk drivers on the road, so definitely plan on Uber instead of taking a chance on the road and have fun getting to know your driver! read more

I downloaded the app after having a few drinks on a Friday night and within a few minutes had figured out how to add a payment method and request a ride. I only gave Uber one star because I couldn't choose zero stars! While visiting Gonzales for a business event, I chose Uber to drive me there in May 14. 2017. The fare quoted was a little over $17 which I felt was fair; however, I was charged $31.34. The driver's GPS wasn't correct and since the driver didn't speak much English, it was difficult to communicate with him. In addition he sped up as we approached a red light, then screeched to a skidding halt. I tried making a complaint to Uber; however it was never accepted. I was excited about uber coming to Baton Rouge after using the services over the summer in Boston, BUT now I understand why most people in BR do not trust these people. Over the weekend, my friends and I decided to use Uber instead of fighting the parking issues downtown BR for a parade. We were picked up by an uber driver at 7:19pm downtown and arrived at our destination at 7:30pm. The following day around 10am my friend's card was charged TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS on top of our ride fee for a false "vomit" charge. No one in our uber threw up-- I would put my life on it. Got an uber in Baton Rouge Tiger Stadium to Prairieville, my uncles house where we were staying... the Uber driver told us he was taking cash in the form of $70, sounded high I threw a fit but that wasn't the end of it!!! As my gf who had the app on her phone called to dispute it they told her they were going to look into it, they just today 3 days later charged my account $44 for the ride the driver said couldn't charge my account through the app and had to pay cash and my last words to him were we're going to dispute it... instead I got double charged!! read more

Do not sign up with Uber. I signed up with them on New Years Eve and never used them. You have to have a card on file and somebody that works within their company in D.C charged almost $300 within a week on my account. They would not remove my card while I was trying to get to the bank to cancel it and they do not have a phone number to contact them, only emails with no help. Just a mess.
