Very cute and cool spot to go to for breakfast-dinner with a somewhat small but solid menu of Asian fusion, mostly Korean/Japanese and veggie staples for clean eating. We came here to the outskirts of Panglao out of the Alona Beach area in search of a new restaurant. Here is Ubeco. It isn't your typical eatery in the area. Super minimalist and classy in style for that great picture-worthiness. The bathrooms also have that simple but clean touch that just makes you feel at home. The customer service of our waitresses was definitely a plus. I'd come back in a heartbeat if only it wasn't so remote from the tourist town.
Food is definitely healthy in the salad choices from mango to shrimp salad bowls. If you're looking for Filipino food, unfortunately, this place is not for you. I wanted so much to eat traditional food in a homey space but fortunately I enjoyed my selection of greens that I totally forgot that I was even in the Philippines. They do use tropical ingredients from the island though so it still feels beachy.
I loved my milk tea as well. The flavors were soft and not empowering like powdered milk teas. The Alona Sunset was good too but I'm not too into "ade" types of drinks. Very beautiful presentation as well.
Overall, a must for any foodie looking for a great ambience in Bohol.
