I don't typically give feedback but if this helps anyone I guess it was worth my time, but I am…read morespecifically focused on senior citizens (you know those of us that worked fifty year and you would think have earned a little respect) well my experience was certainly NOT that. I no longer drive due to a horse accident that has left me crippled. I had to be driven to both my appointments and was never even able to see "my provider". The PA I saw the first time was pleasant and helpful my second visit was far from that. No one especially our seniors should get treated the way I was. All attempts to communicate my feelings were completely ignored. I left messages at the office no reply. The Center for Pain sent me a text asking me to rate my experience and I replied to both their direct response line and to the site hosts line for no reply from either so my two visits will be my only visits. Not sure how much more I should say, future actions may be taken. I hope this helps anyone suffering to make an informed decision. Do your homework, talk to actual patients when possible.

She was in a coma for almost 4 months. Long story short, we were trying to find her a capable rehab (she's 42) and finally, they came to me and said, she's going where we put her or you can take her home. Tragically effeted with dysphasia and other related issues, can walk, eat and was on a stomach tube, constantly fighting infection, if I took her home she would have died within days. So they can take their faith based comments and stuff them. The health system is horrible in AL. She was the victim of abuse, and is now in a rehab that she has had sepsis twice since December and 2 UTIs. Sickening.

I waited 3.5 hours for an appointment because the nurse sent me to the wrong location in the hospital. I was also there for a test regarding a VA claim, and they billed me. Not how VA works at all. Even if they fix this, I will never forgive them for the stress they caused. When I raised my concerns about lack of training the operator literally told me "I don't wan't to hear it." I pray no one is doing any practical hours or residency work here, we need fewer hospitals like this one. I would trust a crackhead in Montgomery with my life more than their staff.

I appreciate that the nurse uses a numbing agent before starting an iv, it was virtually pain free. The nurses were friendly and made every effort to make sure I was comfortable. The anesthesiologists and surgeon both came and spoke with me before my procedure and answered all my questions. I was impressed that everyone checked my armband or verified my name and date of birth before talking to me. Post op was rough from the air the blow your abdominal cavity up with and I was in a lot of pain. However, the nurse quickly gave me pain meds and got me as comfortable as possible. I'll definitely use this center in the future if I need to evict any other organs!

Yet, the same person told me there was also no way to know what services would be provided before hand or who would provide those." How are we suppose to "educate ourselves" when even Shelby Ambulatory doesn't know who is involved in the procedure? They're too clueless to see the absurdity in their conflicting statements. On top of that, facility is dated and overly-crowded. The $2 fee to park in their parking deck in rural Alabama was a nice touch too.

He said I did not qualify for injections or any other invasive treatment for specific reasons. I left and went to another Dr who said that he could help me and he turned out to be a quack in trouble with the DEA so I went back to Herrick to get my medication that I have been on every day for 18 years, I was on 2. still didn't see Herrick but he sent his NP in there and tells me to choose one can't have both which I have been on for 10 plus years. so I did and with my body and brain being so used to it, of course it made me very sick with severe high bp and I am a 35 year Type 1 diabetic on a pump. So I called and told him and he said we can talk about it on your follow up NEXT MONTH. They know they are the only pain Drs around here and they use that against you. He got mad that I tried to go somewhere else and find some kind of help, so he punished me. He doesn't care about anything but money and treats you like a drug addict if you tell him, the pain Dr that you are in pain. I would strongly recommend anyone in this practice over Herrick because he is one petty individual to do someone that way who has been going there for 16 years. In other words run from him!!! My primary Dr was kind enough to help me, when he who is the pain Dr would not!!

I wouldn't see anyone else for this pain I deal with every day. His nursing staff is incredible too and always willing to help me.
