I was at the outlets and craving something sweet, so I decided to stop by U-Swirl for some frozen yogurt. It was a little busy inside, with a few people making their way through the flavors and toppings. The yogurt itself was pretty good, but the flavors were fairly standard and nothing particularly stood out to me. The main thing I noticed was that the floor was a bit sticky, along with some of the handles and utensils around the self-serve area. With so many people and kids serving their own yogurt and toppings, I can see how things get messy, but the area could have used a little more attention. I stopped here while checking out the outlet shops...I was beyond hungry and wanted a quick, light snack after being on the road for a couple of hours. Froyo seemed like a good idea. I have to say that this place seriously underwhelmed, to put it politely. They offer a limited number of flavors - I saw two low-fat options, two non-dairy options, nothing sugar-free or non-fat (don't think I missed/overlooked anything but I could be mistaken). Because I'd never been to this spot before, I'd hoped to try a couple of small samples...the kid behind the counter wasn't exactly friendly. The store wasn't busy with customers - and the yogurt is self-serve. When I asked if I could get a couple of sample cups, he tersely replied, "We don't have any." Ooookay. I decided to gun it and just got cookies and cream and cake batter - both low-fat. I filled up slightly less than 1/3 of what would be a large cup at most other yogurt places. The topping bar was not super appealing so I passed (did find a graham cracker dust shaker on front of the register so I put a smidge on my yogurt. There were two people paying in front of me - when the kid rang them up, they seemed surprised - and the kid behind the counter said something like, "Yeah, this is damn expensive yogurt." I couldn't see what they ordered so I don't know what they paid and how much they'd served themselves. When they finished, I put my cup on the scale - $9.04 was my total LOL!!! For a SMALL (arguably a junior/kid's sized portion). I sucked it up because I was starving and had to get back on the road in order to beat the afternoon rush. What a joke - or, better yet, joke was on me. The store seemed clean enough. In addition to yogurt, the store served Rocky Mountain chocolates as well. Lord knows what they charge for that stuff. Stopped by to get some frozen yogurt. The service was good, the floors and countertops were clean, there were plenty of cups and napkins, the topping containers were full and the yogurt was perfectly frozen and not runny. Love that they share the store with a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and had toppings that I've never seen at a froyo place such as chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter cookie dough, brownie dough, etc. My only gripe was that they were out of several yogurt flavors. read more

As promised, Herman. Here is your review. This is less a review of the store which is wonderful for what it is / the lack of fresh fruit toppings is a little disappointing. For the life of me - I'll never understand why all that awful sour candy is offered - especially in a place frequented by lots of kids.... But that's not unique to U-Swirl - which I've been a dedicated customer of for years... But To that end.... HERMAN, you will never ever have the opportunity to speak to my son like that again - as I will never ever set foot there again / which is a good thing for both of us. My 10 year old son got a little yogurt over the lip of his bowl, he very innocently licked it off - and you HAD THE AUDACITY to scold him in a store full of people. The frozen yogurt he licked off the rim of that cup couldn't possibly amount to even one tenth of the amount most people pack into a single sample cup - which everyone eats three or four of minimum. You used my son for your personal power trip - and then dug in your heals when I told you it was a simple mistake. "IT'S MY JOB" over and over with every single logical and rational argument I gave you for why that was not best practice / I'm sure your owner would agree. I think we both know exactly what that little flex was all about. In the future / if you have a future at that job after I finish reviewing your embarrassing treatment of a 10 year old like that - I highly suggest you count the miserable little half teaspoon of lost product among the gallons of samples that are already factored into your capital goods budget - because you lost my business permanently. But if you can't / I highly suggest you find a way to quietly inform the parent of the child - rather than taking that job on yourself. I'm responsible for my son, you speak to me - not my kid. I think I made that pretty clear though prior to my exit. Don't you ever talk to a child like that again / any child. To Whom It May Concern at corporate- save your gift card. I had a terrible experience!!!! This place was rude and disrespectful towards my family. They harassed all 5 of my children, saying that they couldn't have kids coming in all the time asking for samples, because they were "privately owned". Not only were they rude and disrespectful but they also told us that we needed to be a customer if we were going to get a sample but what's the point of getting a sample after you allready bought the ice cream. I think my children should be able to ty ice cream before i spend my money on it. They then proceeded to kick us out and call my children little monsters. Not only was their service terrible, but they had a terrible workspace with crumbs and dirt everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if there were rats. I went back in after and apologized for my children's rude behavior (even though they weren't doing anything at all). I got a bowl of their frozen yogurt anyways cause I wanted to see how it was. My family tried it and it was terrible, my daughter Lucile even spit it out into a nearby bush. Most of my children then had a stomach ache afterwards. Bomb dot com! Wish they had a location in RSM but I'd say this place is worth the drive. They have coconut and banana flavored froyo! Definitely rare flavors I don't see at yogurt land. They have napkins and gloves you can use to pull the levers and still self serve. Place is clean. Girl with red hair is nice. Toppings come in little pre-packed cups and they gave me a pre-wrapped spoon. I think they share a space with another store but it works out because they were also making candy while I was in there so the store smelled awesome! The worst customer service. I asked if I could use the mall 20% coupon and the associate said I had to have it in hand. Mind you the yogurt was on the scale. Great yogurt!!!!! We use to go to Yogurt Zone in SJC but their toppings are stale/old. U swirl Yogurt tastes fresh, with a lot of flavors to choose from. The caramelholic was my favorite! Can't say enough nice things about PABLO, who waited on us. He was very friendly & helpful. He noticed my husband had a Marine Corp Cap on and offered us the Veterans discount.!!! The store also has a nice variety of candy and chocolate covered apples, etc. We easily joined their rewards program with our cell phone number. read more
