My advice is to stay away if they have clearly marked outside $40 an hour. BE WARE PLEASE READ! I NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS. Horrible experience at U Spa. If I could give this a negative review I would. Firstly they charged us three different times with an additional 5% charge each time seems highly unfair and inconvenient. Although what really made me write this review was that the man inappropriately touched my wife unacceptable and completely out of line I hope no one ever has to feel harassed the way she did. Um. I think I'm in the wrong place. Google "u spa Houston". Then you'll completely understand. HAAAA!!!! Oops. No harm, no foul though. So. Funny. I was completely clueless until I saw this room I was put in. Even then gave it the benefit of the doubt until I was taken "to be showered". My mother and I have been going there quite some time now and had a few different ladies do our massage, but once we came across Jennifer, we do not let anyone else massage us! I returned to U Spa for a couples massage a few months after my initial visit and will never return again. Not only were the massages sub par, the were extremely rude and aggressive about the tipping. I left a more than generous tip (given the quality of service) and so did my boyfriend. ..unbeknownst to us. I was intentionally mislead into into thinking my boyfriend had not left any tip. My first time here. They start the 1 hour count when you come in and not when they actually start your service. The lights in the sauna went out twice. $2.00 extra charge for using credit/debit card. The massage was okay (nothing to write home about). When on the table, i was left uncovered for quite a while, my shoulders were not worked on. My hair was a bit damp from being air dried but when the lady was massaging my face and head, she continued to put damp hands from my hair unto my face. I was in the room when she was setting up for the next client. She DID NOT CHANGE the sheets, the towels, NOTHING WAS CHANGED!!!!!!! The foot rest was doubled as a pillow so imagine how many people's feet, including your own, has now been on your head! The towel given to wrap my body was refolded and put back in place for the next customer! Then comes the tips. She said she works for tips. As I was getting some money for her, she said I should keep it because it wasn't $20.00! WHAT? The conclusion of the matter is that I will not be coming back here. Thanks but no thanks. BEWARE!!! This place is a hot mess. They barely speak English and expect you to know that they are running a business where they do not pay their staff. Instead you pay them through "tipping" which is fine if only it was done correctly. I visited this place at a recommendation from a friend. From the time I arrived, the staff was very very rude. They only take cash for one, and if you have a card please be ready for a long wait so that 3-4 people can come out and verify that your I.D matches the name on the card. I paid 40$ for a full body massage which wasn't that bad at all, HOWEVER, before I can barely put my clothes back on, and rehydrate myself, the lady who did my massage aggressively asked me "How are you paying for my tip and how much are you giving me?". In shock, since I've never been asked for a tip or better yet confronted about one and the amount.... I begin to explain to her that I will tip her in a few when I get to the front and get cash from the car. Immediately she began yelling at me saying, "if you don't tip, I don't get paid, so I need tip NOW!!!." I begin explaining to her that I don't mind tipping as I always do but no one is not about to yell at me and blame me for their personal situation. Before I could even finish my sentence she upsettingly walked away saying, "yea right, you just don't want to tip me." UNBELIEVABLE. I couldn't believe it. At this point, the tip was definitely out of the picture. I'm not tipping anyone with that behavior. So I immediately expressed my concern to the manager and told her why, and how the lady was upset and rude with me as if I told her That I wasn't going to tip long time before. & For the record, I always tip and definitely have no problem tipping 20% or higher when the service is great. Well this was her reply "This is A-mer-i-ca!! everywhere you go you must tip!, if you don't tip, they work for free. She want her tip!!" She went on to saying, Hotels, restaurants, everywhere you tip. This is no different!!!!- (too in an unpleasant tone) Okay. I'm not sure who they are trying to brainwash at this point....the clients or staff, But I was born and raised in America and I have never been treated that way in the middle of my service about a tip. The real problem is that they have these poor girls working literally for "free" with no choice but to beg and yell at you about tips. And if they think for whatever reason that you may not tip them, (walking too slow to the ATM, not reaching for your wallet fast enough, etc.) they will literally yell at you. Totally Unacceptable!!. I would rather pay $100 for a massage elsewhere where the owner pays a percentage to the staff and where I have the option to tip 16-20% based off the service. However, I would never recommend this place where they offer cheap services for the owners own profit and use young angry girls for labor. At least make an effort to train the girls to properly ask for their tips instead of the whole demanding method. save yourself! Go elsewhere and pay more money for "normal" service where you won't risk being offended. Then tip generously as usual. read more

I was very disappointed with my massage. They never asked me if I had any medical problems, what areas I wanted massaged, what areas I didn't want massaged, etc. Essentially, you get the massage they want to give you and don't bother at all with what you want. In my case, I think the masseuse spent about 30 minutes (of a 60 minute massage) working on my arms and hands. It got to be so monotonous I requested that she stop working on my arms and start working on my legs. The masseuse told me that she would switch to my legs in a couple of minutes! So much for customer service. I also found the massage room to be stuffy and mentioned that I was too warm multiple times. Despite mentioning this, the massage therapist didn't try to turn the thermostat down or ease up on the excessive draping. In the massage room, they had a loud, ticking clock which I found very annoying. The only time I didn't notice the clock ticking was when I was distracted by the noise of people talking. About 45 minutes into the massage, I happened to see that the door to the massage room had been left slightly ajar. When I asked the masseuse to please shut the door, she refused saying she had to leave it open! Anyone could have easily pushed the door open and grabbed my wallet. Plus, it is not very relaxing to keep hearing people talking right outside the door. U Spa obviously doesn't care about its customers' privacy or comfort. This place has gone down hill, Used to give a good massage and body scrub. now its a joke. they advertise a salt scrub, then they claim they can't find the salt. very poor body scrub, didn't even use soap. the massage was less than soothing. I have come here a few times with my husband. I never felt comfortable going for a massage until I found this place. I find myself coming here with no problems. Jennifer is wonderful! I feel very relaxed and they are very professional. The owner has been there a few times and has thanked me for my business. The ladies do an amazing job and the prices are great. I recommend Jenifer for a full body massage, she is very good and can do a strong massage on any trouble spots. read more
