Highly recommend. I could not be happier with my experience with the team at Powell. From start to…read morefinish, they were professional, responsive, and easy to work with. We hired Powell to paint the exterior of our home and their carpentry services to replace several rotted window frames for a three story house. Andre stopped by to perform the initial exam and was very thorough and knowledgeable on the work that needed to be done. Unlike other painters I contacted, the Powell team was easy to contact and actually showed up on time for the scheduled time slot. Their quote for the project came in right around the same as other quotes we received, and it was well worth the cost. I can't praise the level of service you get with Powell. Stephanie, who handles scheduling and billing, was on top of communications so that I didn't have to worry about anything. Even the owner, Bryan, stopped by at the beginning to inspect a few leaks we had in our ceiling to help us determine whether there were other issues beyond repairing the rotted windows for us to consider. They will even bring out the drone for inspection if you have a tall home. As additional rotted windows were discovered during the power washing, work orders to add additional work was clear and simple. Once the work actually began, it went so smoothly. Andre stopped by every morning and afternoon to check in and update us. Our crew, Thiago and Breno, were incredibly hard workers. They were at our home by 7:30 am every morning despite the terrible traffic and often worked past 7 pm even during a heat wave. The guys were experts on the ladders despite having a few high, tricky spots to get to. The worksite was clean after each day which I was grateful for as we have a toddler running around. The entire project took 10 days. While it moved fast, it didn't feel rushed and no corners were cut to finish quickly. They even paused the project for 2 days because of rain so that we didn't run the risk of streaky paint. After the work was completed, they insisted on us contacting them if we weren't satisfied with any part of the project. Our home looks completely transformed and brand new. I cannot recommend Powell Painting enough for a stress free and professionally done project.

Working with Powell has been one of the best experiences I have had as a new homeowner…read more I reached out to Powell to see if they would be willing to paint the basement room in the townhouse that serves as my movie room\home office. The color that the prior owners picked while nice was a bit too dark for such a small room. They responded to my inquiry the same day and arranged a date and time to stop by and look at the room. Bryan and Andre arrived exactly on time and took a look at the room. Super friendly, patient, and willing to address any questions and concerns. As part of the renovation of the room, I was planning on replacing the carpet and asked him if I should do it before painting the room or after. He strongly suggested to replace the carpet first since the installers tend to scuff the baseboards terribly as they are ripping the old carpet out. I followed his advice and did the carpet first and sure enough the baseboards were in such bad shape after that had I painted I would have had to repaint them. I'm so thankful for that. On the day of the job, Bryan and Andre introduced me to Freddie who would be painting the room for me. Super friendly, professional, and honest. After grabbing the paint, he laid down tarp to cover the brand new carpet and got to work on the walls. It's amazing how quickly he was able to paint this room. It felt as if every move was calculated. What's more impressive is that he conversed with me the entire time! During the end of day 1, Freddie called me over and informed me that the two coats of paint that the quoted me for the job would not be sufficient for cover the walls and they will need to grab another can of paint. I asked him how much extra would I need to pay on top of the quote and said nothing. They told me it would take two coats, it didn't, so it was on them to make it right. Freddie told me he already informed Bryan and he would stop by the paint store tomorrow to grab another can of paint on their dime. I wasn't expecting that at all but greatly appreciated it. In the early afternoon of the second day the room was done. I thanked Freddie and waited for the paint to dry before heading down to plan out moving furniture back in. It was then that I noticed that there were some areas in the room that we not completely covered. I reached out to Stephanie and she called back soon after and told me that Freddie would be stopping by again later the SAME day to take a look. True to their word, Freddie stopped by and took a look at the walls now that they were dry and he confirmed the coverage issues. He grabbed paint and did another pass on the walls which removed the old color. After Freddie departed I started to notice that that wall color is much much warmer that I expected. I tried various color temps on the lights to no effect. I took a look at the sample patch in the other room and confirmed that it looked very different and that maybe I might have made an expensive mistake with the paint choice for this room. On a whim I took a few pics and emailed Stephanie with my concerns. I figured at this point they'll I'm crazy and I didn't expect to hear back. After all, I chose the paint color, they painted the room perfectly, their task is done. An hour after I send the email I get a call, it was Bryan. He looked at the photos, and saw the same thing that I have seen, and he and Stephanie have been trying to figure out the root cause. It turned out that there was some miscommunication and an incorrect shade of white was used on the doors and trim causing white walls to become warmer than they should. He apologized and asked to send a couple of painters the following day with the correct paint to address. I already felt bad about Freddie having to come back so I told Bryan not to rush but he insisted. He knew I took the week off to clear out the room to get it painted, and he wanted to get the job done so I have the weekend to put everything back together so I can work on Monday. 7am the following morning Andre and another painter arrived with the correct paint and took a little over an hour to repaint the doors and trim. As soon as I stepped into the room the walls immediately cooled down. And the state of the brand-new carpet after they were done? Spotless. I love the room now. Snow like color make the room feel bigger and more comfortable. It's easily my favorite place in the house. If you're looking for painting service for your home and are within the service area don't bother looking anywhere else. It's not just the quality of their work (which is outstanding), it's their level of accountability. They will do everything to ensure that the job is done and that you are happy. They came back to my home at two separate occasions to complete one room and I didn't pay a penny more than what was initially quoted to me. I cannot recommend Powell enough and can't wait until I can get them to paint other areas of the home.

He communicated with us throughout the project of installing a new Timberteck deck. His crew worked straight on through from start to finish without empty lapses of time. The men are so highly skilled. We continue to be happy with our beautiful deck. Therefore, we asked Ruy to install a Timberteck stair rail at our front doors, which also has withstood the test of time. We'd been concerned that installments like this would compromise the brick, whereby requiring a total rebuild, but a rebuild wasn't necessary. He also advise us on an easy and effective fix to divert water from flowing from the gutter and freezing to ice on those brick steps in winter. Based on the outcome of these projects, and our experience in their progression, we highly recommend this company.

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

Jeff is terrific!…read more There was a leak in our kitchen which we knew was coming from the only full bath, one flight up. We thought it was the shower. Jeff came in, gave us an estimate for replacing the kitchen ceiling, and we agreed to go ahead, knowing that whatever would have to be fixed in the upstairs bath would cost extra. My husband and I were honestly expecting it would cost another 200% or more. Jeff found the leak (it was the clean water source for the toilet tank and not the shower at all), showed us the problem, and went ahead and fixed it. He redid the kitchen ceiling and painted it, all with minimal disruption to two people who work from home. And the extra cost? It was an additional 33 1/3% (or, an additional one-third added to the initial estimate)! Clean, quiet, professional, fast, smart, I cannot say enough good things about him!

Stone for an extensive house renovation project, including but not limited to, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a finished basement. Upon the commendable completion of the project, I can confidently attest to Jeff's skill and expertise, most notably demonstrated in his carefully crafted tile design and excellent carpentry work. Jeff listened patiently, offered helpful suggestions, was agreeable to most requests, and when presented with a challenge, was up to the task. In fact, my favorite feature is the herringbone patterned backsplash in the kitchen, which he meticulously custom-made - a real masterpiece! Overall, my experience working with Jeff was positive, enjoyable, and collaborative. He transformed an old, tired, and ordinary house into a fresh, modern, and remarkable home.

Carlos, my review most certaintly represents your business which is you and how you conduct…read morebusiness. I did NOT mention the issues that happened along the way because you begged me not to write a bad review. You offered band aids rather than to fix things correctly. and then practically bribed me with an inflated bill that you lowered. I didnt say anything about the issues being code /permit related. But you did damage my driveway, your manager was shown the the back porch and how I DIDNT want the front porch to be when corners were mitered and I asked them not to be because of expansion and contraction , your remark was it was a different crew who did it? you didnt inform them of our conversation. the cement didnt come out the color chosen, you didnt do a test color, your manager bought the wrong landscape wall, I immediately contacted you it was incorrect, and you still tried to charge me, Of course I was not happy. The roofing is now leaking, no the inspector didnt get up there and look under the shingles, if that is what you are suggesting. I was just letting you know 3.5 weeks ago what was happening now and you completely ignored me. You think its ok. So I agreed that I didnt want you to seal my driveway because that doesnt fix the 4 dents you put there when you put your dumpster there with no wood underneath to protect my driveway. your response was I wasnt there when they came. Again no communication with your workers or subs. Again that is not my fault. not to mention you dumping waste from another job in my dumpster or you piling up wood for another job all over my grass which was dead when you finally finished. Or how about the job only being six weeks and ended up being 6 months from Sept to Feb. All my emails were about what was going on in my job, which concerns me and should have concerned you. But you refused to talk to me unless the manager was there. Not my fault your men do not do what you want them to do and you try to pass their mistakes on to me. I guess when my railings on my stairs were discovered not to be connected last year, on both sides, I guess you didnt decide to not work together, or could it be that you only responded because the inspector on the job who signed off called you personally to fix it , although you didnt fix it according to what the inspector suggested that you follow the manufacturers instructions, you just put in 2 screws to hold in place. As the inspectors stated we do not go around lifting materials or climb on roofs, they inspect with eyes only. Or when your framing failed during the rough and you had to come back to make adjustments before going forward. Maybe if I called the inspector first about the roof , it would have gotten your attention, but I will inform him now, seeing that you have ignored me, to let him know you failed to flash the roof by code. You see this is what caused the leak, doesnt matter if it was within a year , you didnt do what you were suppose to do initially. Why didnt your company tell me they dont know how to do roofing, I would have gotten a professional. This was a new fail on your behalf and this is how you choose to handle it to ignore me. My original complaint here was not about 4 years ago because I didnt mention all that happened. IT was to bring attention to the Roof from 3.5 weeks ago. But because of your lame response, its all out of the bag now and you only have yourself to blame. This could have all been avoided if you acted like a professional. I didnt know the roof was going to fail. Maybe you got away with not fixing your prior screw ups because you offered band aids, but the roofing was a current issue. Ok maybe work isnt warranted anymore, but any good contractor would try to do the right thing and you didnt step up! So this Review is all on you. Hope this helps you learn how you should treat paying customers but I can see you havent grown since.
