Great experience at 340 Defense. From top to bottom. Great range, great staff, great RSOs, and even…read morethe other patrons were relaxed and friendly. Shout out to Robert the RSO for coming by and chatting, and giving me tips on how to zero my rifle. Didn't catch the name of the guy at the counter, but he was great too. Me and my wife went for the non-member, hourly rate. We probably spent about 3 hours there ($45/hour, per person), but he ended up only charging me for the time, and said my wife didn't have to pay "since she didn't shoot too much" (although she definitely did). Ranges were at 15 yards, 50 yards, 100 yards, and 300 yards (members only for the 300 range). Site had restrooms and water. Don't see how anyone could have a bad time here. RSOs were extremely chill and were always respectful (unlike RSOs at other ranges I've been to). Ranges were very cooperative, unlike anything I've seen at other places. Patrons are largely in control of going hot and cold, as long as every just gives the thumbs up, they're not timed or anything. Will definitely return, and probably look to become a member. They offer veteran discounts on membership too.

Well to my great pleasure the staff at front desk was extremely inviting, explained everything explicitly well, the facilities are excellent well maintained and organized. The RSO was quite knowledgeable and helpful. We spent a couple hours and we were impressed! Purchased a family membership and will be regulars from now on. FYI the ownership recently changed and not sure how it was before but this group seems to have there ducks in a row! The training range is separate so there is no scheduling issues of the ranges if they are open you can shoot! I highly recommend this friendly, clean and well organized facility!

Snowshoe Sporting Clays - Static stand at Sporting Clays

    Snowshoe Sporting Clays

We finally paid a visit to Snowshoe's Sporting Clays range after frequenting the sprawling resort…read morefor almost twenty years. It was both a fun and pleasant experience and we decided to do it again in the future, perhaps next year. Snowshoe Sporting Clays is located almost halfway between Silver Creek and the Snowshoe Lake, down a back road that alternates between gravel and pavement. The best way to get there is by the free Snowshoe Shuttle that is on call to drive customers there. Before going there, however, one has to have paid tickets that can be obtained at the Depot or by calling the Snowshoe reservation line. There are several variants to suit customers of every level of dexterity and time allowed, from static 25 targets at $29.00 to a mobile course of 50 targets costing $54.00. The range masters are totally professionally trained and take their time explaining both the shot gun course and best of all, safety. Myself coming from both a military and a Homeland Security background, it is a pleasure watching the range masters at work. The course is fairly small, as well kept as it could be, although the management neglect of the previous Snowshoe CEO (now hopefully exiled to some ski Gulag) is visible and extends throughout the entire resort, including the Sporting Clays. Overgrown bushes and poorly maintained buildings greet the visitor. Hopefully the new management will spend a modicum of resources to keep this as a wonderful experience to the visitor. The Sporting Clays is open from early May to early October, providing for a fairly long shooting season. After about twenty minutes of safety and instructions, we were ushered to the static stand for a five-shot practice before the launchers were activated. We did both the static launchers, which come from different angles and positions, as well as part of the woods course. To say it was fun is a gross understatement. It was a blast. One of the best things to do at Snowshoe during the summer season, period...
