This restaurant caught my eye since i was craving for Local Hawaiian food. Originally born and raised in Hawaii for 30 plus years just to remind yall. This spot had good ratings so we had to try it. First initial reaction was a little run down. But I can't judge them on how it looks cause most good food would be hole in the wall. But I can't say it was the best local Hawaiian food I tasted. I ordered the Hawaiian combo plate which consisted of Kalua pig, bbq chicken, Lomi salmon, 2 scoops of white rice, and a scoop of mac salad. They had substitutions but I insisted to get what originally comes with as what local Hawaiian foods does in Hawaii. My other half ordered the loco moco. Let's talk about the staff first. Loved the friendly environment. The smiles and the way they carried themselves. Cashier was very friendly and always had a smile on him. Girls who gave the food were very attentive to the customers and very friendly to us and others as I observed throughout eating inside the place. Next let's talk about the seating areas. Looks a little run down but very big tables and benches for big or small families to eat on. But I like to check how clean things were. Which we sat at the corner. The Hawaiian combo plate I got was not the best nor the worse I had. Let's talk about the Kalua pig. The taste of it was bland so I had to add my shoyu to get it more saltier. It's not fresh and tasted spoiled. (I took one bite and didn't finish it). Next let's talk about the loco moco. Lmao. Sorry I'm laughing cause the patty was a bit burnt, and the gravy, omg please don't. It was straight bland. No flavor. The signature loco moco gravy consists of a rich, savory brown gravy infused with a touch of shoyu (soy sauce), Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Then you'll know the difference between a true Hawaiian loco moco compared to what they served. Last thing we had was the "mini malasadas". I say mini cause it's just a bite size to me. Again, not a true malasadas from Hawaii. It's from a company called "wiki-licious malasadas" I don't call it malasadas, it's more of a small doughnut that you can get in a convenience store filled with different flavors. At first I thought it wasn't baked well as the color looks very light/white. The dough was a bit tuff and the flavors in it wasn't good at all. If you want true malasadas visit Hawaii or go to Vegas and go to Pipeline malasadas, you'll see the difference in taste, texture, and flavor fillings. Again, this is my opinion as a born and raised local Hawaiian native. Will we go back to this spot? No thank you. I gave it two stars and those stars are for the friendly staff there. Not the food.

I ordered a tree of life which I believe had peach ice on top, vanilla custard, and mango ice on bottom and a small blue raspberry plain ice. It was reasonably priced and the cup was packed full. My tree of life was extremely flavorful while also not being too sweet. I love the layers and how well the flavors mixed as a whole. Delicious! The employees were busy the whole time I was there and they were nice. It was really clean inside and a fun little football balloon arch was there for pictures. The people behind me were offered samples and I wish I had known they did that, maybe I would've branched out more :) I will have to try next time. I follow them on social media and it's fun to see what flavors of the week there are! I can't wait to go back again! I'd recommend this place to anyone! Great for groups or families!
