If they do not know the answer, or they can not help because they only offer certain services, they will point me and/or other customers in the right direction. Recently we were there and we were in and out in minutes. All we had to do is switch plates around after buying a new car. The service was great. The clerk was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable on the service we needed. The parking lot is large, and shared with many other businesses. Once inside the DMV select office is to the right down a hall on the first floor.

We waited in our cars and then realized it was 1pm; and went in. We were very polite and after I waited 6-10 min once inside the trailer; I was beckoned and loudly asked: "what's your name!" I told her and in the small office everyone obviously heard. Then I got the 'third degree': You're not on this list, you don't have an appointment, etc ...,,,,,,,,,Then she loudly ordered me (and I served in the US Navy) to just take a picture on the door of our website! After that ordeal; I explained how I just made an appointment to correct the error DMV had made for GARAGE JURISDICTION; how I was told by the Commissioner of Revenue of Rappahannock Area via emails (professional and polite)to make appointment and visit KG DMV which I did; how I was a teacher and had today off only, my return move back to VA from another state, etc., etc, THEN!: SHE FORCEFULLY handed a paper to me. I asked where does it show jurisdiction and she just blatantly looked at me with a grim face and pointed to the bottom of my corrected registration. I looked and found it, then quickly ran from those evil people! *Not one employee got up to check over our names on the list where we wrote our names while we waited in our cars as told! I wanted to tell the DMV ladies in that trailer office: "I really am a human being and an adult. I don't mean to bother you and get my paperwork in order so that I am not taxed by the wrong jurisdiction and that KG DMV gets their personal property taxes and that I'm not fined hundreds upon hundreds of dollars$$$ for an error DMV made- PLEASE HELP ME the taxpayer???!!!!" Sending prayers.......

Inside was neat and clean, so you could tell the postmaster and the employees take pride in this charming little government building. This tiny brick post office looks like a monopoly piece. The grounds are well maintained and I even mailed a card here, as I love mailing letters with various VA postmarks! There was a donation box for the Boy Scouts of America on a desk, and there were ample shipping supplies for a post office of this size. The hours are 12:30-4:30 M-F and 9:30-12:30 Saturday. Minimal services offered.

Watson wrote, "I never saw so great and so universal delight as it gave to the spectators." This is the earliest recorded evidence of aeronautics in the commonwealth." Searching around, I found this information which I found interesting but there is no report of what happened to Mr. Watson. "In November of 1783, the Montgolfier brothers launched the first manned hot air balloon flight in France. It was a thirty minute flight that went over 8,000 feet into the air. This was an achievement that added to their prestige with their previous exploits, which explains why the French word for hot air balloon is la montgolfiere" "Another man who made his name with the use of the hot air balloon was Joseph Shelton Watson in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was born in 1780 and died at the age of 25 in September of 1805. A collection of his letters had been compiled from his time at the College of William and Mary between 1798 and 1801. In his letter that is dated April 1, 1801, he tells his brother David about his construction of a hot air balloon. "I have been engaged in for several evenings in the construction of an Air-balloon. Let's put it this way: it's so small that they weren't included in the recent census. But the Post master has a fun sense of humor with lots of bobble heads in the window! There are a couple small beachy areas tucked away in the nooks and crannies of this quiet community, but the folks here don't seem to take to strangers. The population here is approx. 340, so the size of the building fits the area. It's well-maintained and manicured on the outside, with a brick exterior that extends farther back than one would expect. Inside it's tidy but pretty average. There a sign on the door that says no more than 10 people allowed inside. The lobby is not spacious so 10 people would definitely be crowded! Lol! They only provide morning window hours 7:45-11:45 M-F, 8:00-11:45 Saturday. I'm sure these hours suffice for the limited population and suits them to the letter!

It was built in 1922 and it's a historical landmark in the tiny little town!! It looks like it was remodeled in the 70's with all the wood paneling and linoleum floors inside, but the outside in pure country! I love the white exterior with the green gables and the wooden and brick columns! The clerk was super sweet and gave me a bit of history about the place and the area! The population is about 400, and it's just a hop, skip, and a jumó from Deltaville. This is the kind of post office I love to find, one with character and a story! Hours M-F 12-4, Sat. 9-12:30
