The help is very nice and friendly. They do close for lunch between 12:15-1:15. The only thing I wish is that they had a machine here to do your own packages. I know its a small town but some towns smaller I've seen them. Would be very nice not having to wait in line. Maybe someday.

Not only did he help with sending my package off, but he was also very helpful in suggesting different restaurants to try since I haven't been in the area since 2007. So, the Post Office is very clean, small, yet very efficient. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and it would have been shorter, if I had my item boxed and ready to ship. Sluggish, mostly irrelevant, overpaid federal employees, that provides a seldom needed service. This post office put a new meaning to the word: more than irrelevant: Useless! I made a trip here to purchase an international money order. I walked up to customer service and made my request. The clerk behind the service desk ask me this question: What is an international money order? She never heard of that before. I informed her nicely that the post office in my hometown said that they would have them. She said again that she'd never heard anything about them and reiterated that fact. If anyone would like to see how lousy and inefficient our Congress in WashingtonD.C. is; I would suggest a visit to customer service at any location! Both are federal institutions that rely on our tax dollars to survive as they produce no revenue on their own!

When I reached out to the vendor and lodged a complaint with them requestimg no future orders be sent via USPS, my package suddenly arrived on my doorstep. The hours are inconvenient and as quickly as Landrum is growing you would think it's time to go back to normal business hours and/or hire more people if you need to close down to catch up on your work! Also, if you have a question, don't try to call because they almost never answer the phone! I have had to drive there several times just to get answers that could have easily been answered over the phone!

I was in the hospital back in Sept 2025 so had my sister call and have my mail held. I was injured…read moremuch more seriously than originally thought so had to spend two months in assisted living. A friend drove me to the post office to pick up the mail that had been held and to have future mail forwarded to the Assisted living. First of all, there was nothing but junk mail that had been held. I have informed delivery so I know for a fact that a lot more mail should have been there, including new checks and a debit card. NOTHING but junk mail was held. I filled out a forward of address card since I would have to spend 2 months in assisted living. I never received one bit of forwarded mail. When I was well enough to come home I stopped at the Shelby post office and there was not one piece of mail. This means that all my bills, checks, debit cards etc were lost from the beginning of Sept through the end of November. Nowhere to be found. I even checked in post offices in Hickory to see if they knew anything. NOPE. 3 months of lost mail and no one is being held accountable. I have never had such poor service from any post office before this. If I could give it a zero rating I would. It should be investigated or closed for the lack of efficiency.

The worst customer service I have ever received…read more Unfortunately this is my local post office and when I have to ship things I usually go out of my way to go downtown simply because downtown the customer service is excellent and they're typically faster. This post office sends my mail to a house that isn't even registered with my house number and I have been battling back and forth with Christy about it. Not only do they send my mail to the wrong house - they send me my neighbors mail and packages as well. I have gone back and forth for months saying the house down the street is receiving my mail (whom just moved) so because they moved they have been sending MY MAIL back to the sender. What does that mean? It means I don't get my package and I have to fight with the people I ordered from to get a refund. Four times. They have returned my mail to senders four times AFTER KNOWING who I am and where I live. It gets better. Christy promised me that she would HOLD MY MAIL at the post office and what happens? They send it off anyways (one of them to be returned to sender same day) and the other one I waste an hour at the post office for everyone to look dumbfounded about where my package is at. An hour later I get told that it's with a carrier, that her boss overrides what she says. If that's the case, don't promise someone you'll hold their mail for it to be in the air. The best part is that they want me to "prove" that my address is the address that is has. I was sent off with a piece of paper with a phone number to reach the manager which coincidentally "is out of order."

When you work at a company like this you are supposed to deliver mail etc to the right address. How come people can't pay attention to what they're doing while working? It's not that hard to do so. But I know you all don't care as long as you all get paid. Hire people who can do the job right.
