Our cabin was like 10 minutes away from one of the ponds which was semi-frozen. The duck Creek Village had a few good size Ace Hardware that's sold groceries, there was also a gas station, coffee shop, and I did see a pizza place all within walking distance. I most definitely will be back during one of the other season.

You turn off at Cedar City and then have about a 50 minute drive up a mountain that is very steep and scary. I hate driving so close to the edge, I white knuckled it all the way up! I definitely would not want to drive this at night! Duck Creek Village is near Cedar Breaks National Monument and Brian Head. It is in the Dixie National Forest. The temperature the third week of June was roughly around 68-70 during the day, but at night it drops to 40 degrees! You need pants and long sleeve shirts! It is near Lake Navajo and it is so beautiful and peaceful up here! You will see deer, chipmunks, and lots of birds! I noticed there were places where you could rent ATVs. There was also a place to go horseback riding. You have to get your food in Cedar City and there is a Walmart you should stop at BEFORE going up the mountain. Try to get everything that you need before you go up, because once you are at the cabin, you won't really want to leave! FYI there is very little reception on the mountain, so unless your cabin has Wi-fi, you will be out of touch with everyone!

This area is as beautiful as Bryce Canyon National Park. It's lesser known I think because the…read morevisitors all swarm to Bryce, but I think it's a good thing that it's less visited, which gives it a different vibe. Even if you don't stop to do any trails, the drive is gorgeous, with pull outs and shoulders to park at and gawk at the rock formations. (I'm not sure if you're supposed to be parking on the side of the road, but a lot of people were doing it!) There a bunch of informational signs outside the visitor center which provide information driving tours, hikes, ecology of the area, etc. From the parking lot are trail heads to hoodoo & birdseye trail, and also pink ledges trailhead. Worth a stop!

Agua Canyon is one of the far less traveled vista points within Bryce Canyon National Park…read more Although it's not nearly as popular as the other viewpoints, it's still a wonderful overlook that focuses on the beauty of the surrounding hoodoos. It's also one of the highest viewpoints within the park at over 8,800 feet of elevation. Getting there is easy and doesn't require any kind of additional hiking or trekking. You just have to make the drive there from the visitor's center. However, if you're already planning on taking a scenic drive through the park, then it should be easy to hit on your way to or from Rainbow Point since you'll already be passing it by. The views are truly beautiful and feature some very unique hoodoo formations. Parking is super easy and you can literally pull into a parking space right from the road. Would recommend this quick stop on your scenic drive through Bryce Canyon National Park.

Out in this section, the hoodoos are not as densely packed as over in the amphitheater. But the rock formations are still amazing. A lot more walls and fins. IMO, Agua Canyon has a some of the coolest hoodoos in the whole park.

This is a very different view where you can see more of the forest side with the canyon. From my experience, you don't see much of this view when you do the trails. There is a parking lot and I suggest visiting in the early morning or late afternoon. I visited around 3pm. There is probably about a 0.1 - 0.2 walk to the actually overlook which is all flat with railings. Paria View is a stopping point for you!

Paria view is located off the same access road as Inspiration Point and Bryce Point. The other/…read morepoints look out at the amphitheater, whereas this view looks the opposite direction. As such, it is not as crowded as the other 2 viewpoints. Just a parking lot here. No services and no shuttle bus stop. In the field bordered by Paria View Road and the main road- one of the best spots to spot pronghorns and prairie dogs.

You get a stunning view over the hoodoos and the canyon regardless of where you are, but I think this spot offers the most "expansive" vantage. It also has the most info signs along the short walk to the view point (it's like 100 feet long, pretty short). There is a small parking lot, i had no trouble finding a spot but there were only a few available. There is a lot of turnover here though since it isn't a hike, you just go and look/take pics and leave. Definitely recommend this spot if you only have a chance to go to one overlook!!

With 360 degree panoramic views of the natural hoodoos at 8,300 feet of elevation, Bryce Point provides some of the best views that you'll be able to see within the park. I'm talking jaw dropping ladies and gents! The natural hoodoo amphitheater literally surrounds this very viewpoint. Bryce Point is also the starting and ending point for several popular hiking trails including the Rim Trail. This is very popular landmark as you can imagine, and it can get pretty busy. Despite this, there's plenty of parking and lots of space for to take pictures or just to simply enjoy the view. There's a paved walkway that will lead you all the way down to the vista point area. It gets SUPER windy down there! In the summertime, the wind feels perfect. But, I can imagine that it would be freezing during the spring and winter. Hold on to your hats and phones because it can definitely get blustery. Everything about Bryce Point is amazing. If you're making a visit out to Bryce Canyon, make sure to make a stop at Bryce Point before you leave.

This is a quick little stop on the scenic drive to Rainbow Point. I personally think it's worth it…read moreto pull over and take a look. You get a clear view of the geologic feature and it makes for awesome photos. This natural bridge is different from other natural bridges. Usually, natural bridges are formed by the movement of a stream or river cutting through rock and undermining a portion of the rock to create a gap. However, this one is a natural arch formed primarily by the expansion of ice in cracks deep within. You can tell that the sides of the arch are more angular than other rock formations. There are no toilets or other services at this stop, but it's so quick that I wouldn't expect it to. It's a neat surprise bonus feature of the park amongst all the hoodoos.

Rainbow Point is one of the highest viewpoints in the park, and it is absolutely stunning. It's at…read morethe southern end of the main park road, and you pass by multiple viewpoints and pullouts on the way there. I recommend driving first to Rainbow Point and if interested, hiking one of the hikes there (there are three: 1.0 mi Bristlecone Loop, 8.8 mi Riggs Spring Loop and 23 mi Under-the-Rim Trail), and then traveling back to the center of the park and looking at the views on the way down. It can get crowded at the parking lot, so try to beat the crowds by going early. If you time it to be early morning with sunrise, the colors pop out even more! You can easily see why it's called Rainbow Point. There are vault toilets and benches here, but no running water. Plan accordingly
