The mansion is pure magic. Even if all you did was exchange vows beside a potted plant by the river, with this historic estate as your backdrop, it would still feel like a dream come true. But Glen Foerd offers so much more than a picturesque setting--it delivers a full-scale event that's flawlessly orchestrated. With Jamie Hollander overseeing planning, catering, and coordination, every detail of the day was handled with precision and care. You're not just booking a venue--you're placing your trust in seasoned professionals who treat your celebration like their own. We were fortunate to work with Kelly Mahoney as our Event Planner and Niyah (whose last name I regret not knowing) as our Day-of Coordinator. Their expertise, warmth, and dedication were unmatched. As someone who's worked in the hospitality industry for years, I can confidently say I've never had a more positive experience. If you're reading this, take my advice: visit Glen Foerd. Step inside its breathtaking walls and you'll be transported to another era--one where elegance reigns and every moment feels timeless. You'll fall in love with the place, and you absolutely won't regret it.

From the moment you enter you feel like you are anywhere but Northeast Philly! The grounds are pretty expansive with a variety of landscape design. It's a gorgeous place to wander on a nice day. It's also the ideal spot for a photo shoot - tons of backdrop options!! They do have limited visiting hours so check online before you plan to go - and you will need a ticket. I went on one of their few 'Open Saturdays.' Tickets were $15 each and for a two hour time period. I specifically went to have some photos taken and was not disappointed with them! Stunning backgrounds and lighting. Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch and sit out by the water, which I did. There is so much space which makes it easy for social distancing, though it wasn't crowded at all. Parking is easy, too. They have a large grassy area fir cars to park on. I believe they have a restroom for guests too, though I didn't use it. This is such a beautiful spot, I will definitely be back in the spring to see the flowers blooming!

One of Philly's many hidden gems!…read more After googling events happening this weekend I saw an exhibit for Rashaad Newsome - "To Be Real" was on display at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center... I'm always looking for something new, interesting and mentally stimulating so decided to check it out and was impressed. Let me start by saying this space is beautiful! My niece and I were greeted upon entering and were given a brief overview of the exhibit. The exhibit itself was rich in color and concept and very unique. There was no admission to see the exhibit but donations are welcome (tip: DONATE!) - donation is not mandatory but I'm a firm believer that arts and culture help expand and enrich our experiences and are also great for conversation. In addition to seeing the feature exhibit, there was a hallway with more art, which lead to another space with another exhibit "Fluid Women" (I think) was the name; this exhibit was captivating also. I had a wonderful experience visiting PPAC and will definitely return! I also recommend if you have an interest in visual arts and are looking for something unique. The space was quiet and it is not large but has a lot to offer.

This place is excellent. I'm an amateur photographer and I have come here for multiple workshops…read morebecause the education, the teachers, and the facilities are excellent. In terms of those workshops you can find them for about $30 on Groupon or LivingSocial and the classes are intimate enough with about seven people or less that you really can get the individual attention that really makes for an excellent experience. In fact you will get that personal attention because the teacher incorporates each student and politely requests that they offer their work for light critique. There are opportunities in every class for you to go outside and practice what you just learned by shooting on the surrounding streets. My only criticism regarding the workshops is that they are not as frequent as I would like as my weekend work schedule conflicts often times with their classes. This next section is about the print center and I've had nothing but a phenomenal experience there. I was completely new to Printing and Keith the master printer who runs the lab made an appointment and sat with me for about an hour to basically guide me through the entire process, give his suggestions, and work Photoshop to get the photos exactly as I want them. He has a profound amount of experience that he draws from and is completely understanding that I am a brand new printer. He even gave me recommendations for where to get my photos framed and was just a brilliant lead in the entire process of printing my photographs. I'll definitely come back and I will recommend it to you because they do have excellent facilities, friendly workers, and a wealth of experience. The actual building itself is quite large and I believe it's shared with some other organizations. Philadelphia photo Arts Center does have a classroom or two and a nice gallery to present whatever work they choose. Getting here is very convenient as I take the subway from Center City and walk about 10 minutes. If you were to drive there's plenty of parking and it does not seem packed the numerous times I've been there.

She may get off the topic some with life but, you can bring her back to your concerns. She's talkative and personable. During my visit mid-conversation, she asked me, "who is talking behind your back? Women. 2 of them. Something's going on. Dont worry about them though. They dont mean you good but, they can't harm or stop you." The very next day, I went to work, and for sure my manager called me into the office with another manager to have a talk. They were trying to find something to trouble me. From a pic I showed her of my grandmothers who are deceased, she described their characters precisely. She connected well. I look forward to see what else unfolds in the future. She described very distinctive characteristics/personality traits of my two sons. She was correct w each one. That was interesting because she hadn't met them before. She was recommended by a neighbor who swore by her in regards to detailed info coming true. And that seemed among the "best things" to us. So we wanted to post a heads up to others via Yelp about this tour for others who might enjoy it. There are but twelve covered bridges remaining of the original three dozen originally built in Buck's' County Pennsylvania. Thanks to the hard work of some dedicated folks, the twelve that remain are maintained for all of us to enjoy. This driving (or biking) tour will take you to all of them - or some if you prefer not to do the entire tour. For our two bits, this is a great way to spend a day, including a stop at Bowman's Hill Tower to take in the views and the history of that site (it's on the tour path so you're missing out if you don't stop here) and Bowman' Wildlife Preserve. In particular on a beautiful fall day as we did last week. (Both the Tower and Preserve are in New Hope.) The Wildlife Preserve has a picnic area outside the gates so taking along a picnic lunch is a great idea. And inside the gates, there are bathrooms at the visitor center...hooray. See the website posted at the of the page for more info on each of the bridges and the driving map. Another good bridge tor website is located here. http://letsget.com/html/Directory/community/comm_states/comm_counties_pa/comm_ya_bucks/covered_bri.html#TOUR
