The food was okay, but the ambiance is beautiful. A medieval restaurant, that has been around for years. You go down to the basement level and enter what looks like a vampire's lair. There are massive candles with dripping wax and it is dark and ambient. I had the roasted chicken, which was okay, but the split pea soup was really the winner at my meal. Others who tried the goulash really enjoyed it.

I liked the concept of the restaurant. It felt a bit dark but I think it was really interesting. The food was delicious and there weren't any spiders (U Pavouka means spider in Czech) :) I ate lunch there so I don't really know about the events during dinner. Although, people did tell me that it was so much fun.
Enjoyed a wonderful five-course medieval dinner and show. The performance featured drums, bagpipes, fire-eating, and lively dancing -- it was quite entertaining! Our main dish was a delicious pork knuckle. The venue was easy to find, and the wait staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We also enjoyed all-you-can-drink beer, wine, and nonalcoholic options. For dessert, we had a lovely slice of cake. Overall, we had a really enjoyable evening! read more
I have mixed feelings about this experience. I really enjoyed the food though at first I was skeptical of how the food would be. I got the pork knuckle for my main, we got some potato soup for appetizer and some cold meats as well with bread , there was some barley I think with some spinach items as well delivered to us and then for a dessert it was a cake or loaf. Overall I would say I would give it a 3/5 on food because it was good but some items needed more flavor like the soup. We tried to use the salad shaker but it was empty and the pepper shaker was just dried up that nothing came out. Seemed to be decorative seasoning. The loaf at the end was on the dry side and I couldn't really pin point the flavor . I really liked the pork knuckle which I never had but by recommendation of our tour guide he said that it's the best out of the options. He was not lying it was so tender and juicy . Resembled dark meat chicken but even more flavorful. On to the actual show , it was alright nothing to extravagant about it . They would come out with fights , belly dancing, fire breathing, there was a guy balancing items on a sword he was carrying by his teeth, a guy who came around to see if you could separate some shackles , bagpipes.. it was entertaining but I was hoping for something more dramatic. I'm glad I went but not sure I'd go again. I would recommend getting the pork knuckle 100%. Truly you're just there for the experience and it's 50/50 chance you'll enjoy it or not. I wish they would emphasize the fact that no flash should be allowed. It's so distracting during the performance and I'm sure blinding to the performers along with audience members. People would be getting up too during the performance and blocking what was going on. I do think it should be more organized but I understand it's a cultural issue. Some people don't see how distracting these things are . I also noticed that depending on where you sit you might not have visibility to the show. You can't really know for sure where you'll be seated so it's like you're taking a chance. read more
A great experience if you have kids. However, the three-course was hard to swallow. The appetizer was deli meats sitting on the table when we arrived. We got the chicken for our main and it was very dry. The wine was terrible... The unlimited beer was the best thing. Finally, we were being bit by hundreds of flies. The place was not clean and had a bad odor. You can definitely feel the tavern-like and medieval times environment. However, it was not worth $75 per person imo. read more

The experience we had in U Pavouka Tavern, was something we expected to have treasured memories from, celebrating our engagement with a show and good food. Instead, we left the "show" with a feeling of pure disappointment. First, we got a table where we could barely see 10% of the show and only got to see the bagpipe guy and fire breathing guy for all but 30 seconds each - the show itself was two hours and featured many more different acts. The food was less than below average. The starter was thinly sliced low quality meat, the soup was okay, though the mushrooms were tasteless. The main dish did good. We got the pork one - which we had also booked in advance, yet they still asked us what we wanted when we arrived. The "dessert" was a stale piece of brioche bread topped with cheap powdered sugar, grainy chocolate sauce which was clearly also made from a cheap powder brand and a completely tasteless white mass of sorts. When we asked the staff how everyone could be paying the same steep price of 3599czk pr person but not get the full show because of extremely bad seatings, we were simply met with the answer "The managers only care about the profits, so they do this to maximise all profits for the evenings" You also need to be aware that unless you get a seat right next to one of the isles, you'll have to look at everyone's phones before the show itself as everyone was filming and taking pictures (with flashlights!) As a kind of bandaid, the tavern did agree to let us have the 250czk magnet photo taken of us for free after we didn't bring any cash for it (wasn't advertised on the website) and practically had begged one of the waitresses to find another method of payment. The camera company was not an actual part of the tavern. All in all, this evening was horrible. What should have been a great Christmas Eve became a night where we wanted to leave multiple times and felt swindled due to not getting what we paid for. Therefore - if you look forward to the show and book your tickets, just know that you're gambling with your money, cause chances are that you won't be able to see the show at all and will have to make do with some of the most expensive and worst quality food you can find in Prague city. read more

Terrible experience. The "five courses" include some cold bread, a bland soup, whatever your main is (mediocre chicken), a handful of lettuce on your plate, and a dry gingerbread cake with powdered sugar. Food was miserable. We were sat in the back, and were lucky to see a server. Spent 30 minutes trying to get a refill of beer and water, and when someone finally came over he said it was too late and the show was ending. The "show" was just some dudes fake sword fighting, a shirtless bagpipe player, and a couple belly dancers. Even my kids thought the whole thing sucked. Would never recommend coming here. So many other nice places in Prague to eat. read more

Fun experience! The dinner is definitely entertaining with the "Medieval" theme. I will say some of the staff was not very friendly. The food is mediocre. You do have to share a table with another party most likely. Overall it is worth it to try out once while in Prague. read more

The show is great (sword fight, belly dancing, drums, bag pipes, jester) and the underground setting is cool and authentic. The vegetarian meal is just a plate of vegetables on a skewer. Really enjoyed it! Family friendly as well:) read more

Food and wine were not good at all. Entertainment was limited and not very good. It is not a goo value for the money. Tourist trap!!!
To start with....if you show up before opening doors there is a "line" of people out front. Once doors open you literally will get trampled if not careful. Wife had to yell at people to stop pushing....and its not like it matters as its assigned seating anyways. Food was ok. Hard to get your drinks refilled and there are not enough servers for the crowd. We could only see 1/4 of the show due to our seating. Show is not all that great. Just a lot of loud drums, bagpipes, and guys without shirts and chicks belly dancing. They come out with fire at the end and the fuel/chemical smell inside is almost choking you. Would not come here again. read more

It's a great concept, the setting is beautiful w/candles & a cavelike atmosphere. The food is basic medival-like. The soup was delicious. The waitresses were a bit abrasive but maybe that's how waitresses were during that time period & they were just in character. It really does takes you there in time. Our group of 6 left as the 5th dinner course was done. It was extremely hot inside. When we walked outside after the show, the street felt air conditioned. It must have been 32C inside ... definitely a show you'd want to experience during the cooler months. Unless it was where we were sitting that made it so warm. The main thing to remember is ** PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM SEAT YOU AT THE TABLE BY THE STAIRS** Our group only saw partial views. You will have the stairs to one side obstructing & making you feel cramped in the corner. You will never see the performers when they walk down the stairs & are introduced into the show. There will be musicians w/musical instruments in front of you obstructing the dancers/actors view. Once we got there and saw where we were sitting we asked if we could be moved into the general population and received a very short NO and were given a choice at a table for 3. They should do away w/that table, great in theory but it doesn't work and anyone that sits there will be cheated out of the entire show. So make sure you ask when you make your reservation. It's basically purchasing a theatre ticket with an obstructed view. This is a $30USD show in better shows clothing. If we were not melting and if we had a decent table, it may have been a better experience...but we were & we didn't ... so it wasn't. read more

Such a cool atmosphere and experience! It's a medieval themed dinner theatre, so they were playing instruments, there was sword fighting, belly dancing, a snake and every a fire breather. They serve unlimited drinks and they really mean it! They served my sister a beer and 5 min later she hadn't even touched it and they brought another! The food was medicore, if you're looking for fine dining then this isn't the place. But the food they serve is probably accurate to the medieval times. Overall great experience! read more

Trust me, if I could give 0 stars I would. This was the worst experience ever !! So you pay $50 per person for a mediocre show. Food isn't that great either. They say it's unlimited drinks but our server never served us drinks after the 1st time even though each time he acknowledged our request for a drink but never brought it out. We went with Wine instead of Beer but both were supposedly unlimited service. In Prague, for 50 bucks per person you can eat some really awesome food in the country. This is not worth it and don't waste your time on this. Oh and did I mention, you are seated in groups. So if you are planning on a date night/couple night, FORGET IT !! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. DO NOT COME HERE. They Scammed us when we got here... We tried to cancel our reservation but we couldn't. Their food sucked... The so called "show" that they heavily advertised was NOTHING like the pamphlet says. Our only night in Prague was absolutely wasted. The server was RUDE and treated us cold and was not helping us with what so ever... I felt uncomfortable even asking for another beer. EVERYTHING was bad. 150$ down the drain. I recommend to go get a nice big burger and some beer at a nice bar in old town. Trust me. Came to see some medieval ambiance for my boyfriends birthday and it was terrible.. I ordered the duck and they still brought me pork... That I do not eat. I can't stress it enough of how disappointed I am. read more

Ambience was lovely, cozy and what you can expect from a medieval fantasy tavern. Service was friendly and the show and music was great! Don't worry to go hungry back home because you will be stuffed with delicious food. Only complaints I have is that the wine wasn't cooled and it was quite hot inside. But aside from that it's a great spot to check out! read more

This establishment has a charming atmosphere with its medieval style. The English-speaking, friendly staff served the food promptly, although my dish was slightly cold. Despite the good taste, my overall experience wasn't bad, but I prefer trying other local restaurants in the area. read more
