The ladies at Medusa all teamed up together to do hair and makeup for three bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, and the bride herself. I think really is what I was most impressed with. They worked so well together and coordinated all of us around perfectly. Candice did my hair perfectly. I don't usually know what to do with hair so I told her to do what she liked. Having been to proms and weddings previously, I expected the same type of do, which is to twist my hair up severely, also giving me a facelift, and pinning it to the top of my head. Perhaps they would curl the few tendrils that were too short to fit into the twist. Candice pulled my hair up just a little and to the side. She curled everything and strategically placed the pins. It was an up do, but kind of a half up do. It was so beautiful and simple. I loved it. It stayed up all day, including some fairly windy parts of the wedding, and I didn't have a headache at the end of the night from my hairdo. My makeup was also amazing. I have had people in the past make me look like a freak. My Asian eyelids are hard and sometimes makeup artists don't know what to do with them. I myself don't know how to do my own makeup correctly so usually I don't wear any. I did not catch her name, but she did a fantastic job. She has lots of experience and has been teaching cosmetology for a good number of years on the side. I was so happy with how I looked! The bride seemed a little nervous at one point (not due to her then soon-to-be husband, but due to the anxiety of everything running smoothly). The ladies at Medusa helped her to relax though. They kept the spirit light and all of us laughing and talking. They also knew the people next door at Fat Cat's bar and grill. We ordered some salads and appetizers while we waited for everyone to be finished. The ladies at Medusa had our food delivered across the way and set everything up for us at a table in the waiting area where we could still see and chat with the others in our party. They were so accommodating and sweet. If I ever get married I know this is where I'd like to come with my own bridal party. I know everyone would be guaranteed to look great.

Salina did my hair and it came out great! She really paid attention to detail, blowing drying my hair thoroughly and smoothly before adding curls. The salon is really cute and went through a remodel recently (I commented on the brick wall design separating the shampoo room and was informed of the new updates). They were busy the whole time I was in. Every chair was full with a mix of regular clients and others like me getting styled for weddings (tis the season!). Since I came to yelp looking for guidance when I needed to book, it only felt right to give this salon a shoutout and of course the hairdresser who took good care of me.

The reason I didn't give this store 5 stars is because when entering the store some of the women who worked there gave me looks and made me feel like I was being watched and judged. I was greeted hesitantly, and then the employees started talking amongst themselves. Sadly I noticed this is a trend in most Ulta stores. Thankfully there was the sweetest woman working in the high end makeup section who was like a breath of fresh air from all the other stores. She was very happy and down to earth, and even complimented me on how beautiful my makeup looked. She would be the main reason I would consider returning to this store. She was not pushy whatsoever, gave me space to look for however long, yet gently made sure that I was finding everything i needed and was willing to help. The store was well stocked, especially in the high end makeup section (which I have pictures of). They had a lot of palettes that the others don't have in stock, such as the Jaclyn Hill palette. A few brands were missing testers, but did have the actual product right behind it. Every brand had almost their entire line on display, something that is odd for Ulta. Another thing that was surprising to me was that they had almost all of the Organix hair products, whereas other stores only have a few different ones. This Ulta is almost 40 minutes away from my house, but I am willing to travel for the customer service. My experience here was a good one, besides the few judge mental workers (which is to be expected I suppose). So long as I can shop in peace, I'm good. I will definitely be returning!
