One quote from a local contractor in Ocean Park was over $7,000 more! and the nearest quote was 2K more so being weary I stood outside for two days and watched closely every step of the process, Everything was done top notch right down to the bituminous ice & water shield. Michael's crew showed up ON TIME @ 8:00am sharp in Ocean Park from Longview so they had to be loaded & ready to go @ 6:00am. After checking in with me & my wife the crew covered up the few plants and bushes around the house then the whole gang including the boss attacked our old roof. The weather the first day was typical misty drizzle so they worked across the roof with a huge tarp but they really didn't need it because they worked a system where as the old sheathing was removed the next guy checked for nails & debris then a few guys came right behind to nail down the new exterior plywood to the trusses. That night all the new plywood sheathing was down with asphalt paper on top so it could have rained and all would have been high & dry. Day two the first of the guys arrived early again with the 30 year architectural roofing. They started hauling the packs up on the roof and placing them. By 10:00am everyone either was swinging a hammer trimming shingles or cutting in vents. Fortunately the July sun was out the second day so the shingles were flexible & easy to work with and most important so they would lay down nicely & seal. They were totally done with the truck loaded up for the dump by 4:00pm. I'm not sure what the code requirements are inland here in Kelso but on the coast they require an adhesive backed asphalt ice & water barrier be installed around the entire perimeter of the roof and that was done as well. Every three tab was nailed down by hand and plenty of vents were installed as poor ventilation was the root cause of the premature failure of the original roof system. Unfortunately due to a injury I can't do high work anymore but I'm confident the work done by Michael and his crew was done with the same attention to detail that I would have done and a whole lot faster! I waited several months to post this review because the work was done last summer and I now can say with certanty after months of heavy coastal wind and rain the job was done perfectly, no issues whatsoever. I've written one paragraph reviews for purchased products on Amazon & Ebay but never felt compelled to expend the effort to write a detailed account like this. I would have been satisfied with this level of workmanship from any of the contractors I selected but to get an outstanding roof at a budget price was so totally unexpected I felt I needed to let it be known.

This is the last thing I want to do, write a poor review based on the lack of follow up on the part…read moreof the Receptionist, as I tried to reach the owner Willie to give him a job after a good bid for a small shed project. If you're an older person that knows what real customer service is and how the customer used to be a priority, we all know its not like that now. People get offended if you question poor service. So this my experience today. After calling 4 times and leaving a text with no reply by the receptionist, she finally answered the ph. while my wife and I were having lunch in a restaurant. I pointed out to her I had tried for 2 days to speak with willie but my calls weren't returned. I was ready to do business. I was direct, but not rude, here i am the customer chasing a company to give them my money, I felt she needed to know I wasn't pleased about this. She instantly got defensive and tried to give me excuses and then said" You're being mean to me". At this point I hung up. I don't have time nor patience for this childish non sense. her perception is her reality, but being offended when asked to do your job is where you lose me. She texted me asking why I hung up on her? I texted her back a straight answer pointing out what I had said on the phone and that her gaslighting me and trying to play the victim was not a game I was going to play. So she called her boss and within 3 minutes she texted me back that I " was a real A-hole and good luck finding another roofer". After playing the victim her boss gave her the go ahead and tell me to find another roofer, so now she was embolden to call me an "A-hole". She texted this to me! can you believe it. I got a laugh out of this. What's funny is, I liked willie and wanted to pay him to do a job, and we stood in my drive way and had this conversation about how poor customer service is today and how people get offended when you ask them to just do their job. I'm sorry this happened, there was no need for it, but I'm the customer, you are the business owner, you want my money I want your service. I'm 65 yrs old and know what good customer service is. I've been called a lot worse, but not by a company employee I wanted to do business with. BTW, I found 3 other roofers and each one is going to cost me more, but I don't care, at least none of them have called me an "A-Hole" for me asking for good customer service. Willie, you need to stand up for your employees, but there's always two sides to the story. She thinks I was being "mean". You met me. Was I mean? Was I rude? No, I was straight to the point and direct and nice to you. If you think I'm the only person that has had problems with your receptionist, think again. I'd answer my own business calls from now on or pretty soon you won't have much business. And you were referred to me. Again, I regret this happened today. All I wanted to do is get my shed re-roofed without any drama. I guess it's my karma. Feel free to reach out to me if you like, I'm not angry, why should I be? V/R Gregg K. La Center Wa.

As I am getting rather long in the tooth, roofing a house with this steep roof pitch and consideration of my lengthy healing time if I took a wrong slip and slide over the edge, made my decision to hire a professional easy. After putting a call out for bids amongst local companies, I awarded the job to Weatherguard. The bid was realistic and covered the what ifs and the unknowns. I requested a starting date and they did the best they could to work within my schedule as I wanted to be on site during the job. The job was pulled off and completed to perfection without too many glitches. (stopping rain was not under Paul's control) The stripping & roofing crews were friendly and professional. Everyone stayed busy and gave a full day. I highly recommend Weatherguard, Manager Dave Castle, Paul and his crew to anyone considering a new roof. From my experience It will be done right at a fair price! The frosting on the cake is they accept credit cards for easy payment at job completion. There were no requests for up front payment like others demanded.

Based on my experience and observations, there have been numerous instances where homeowners have expressed dissatisfaction with the services provided by this company. Communication issues, such as unanswered phone calls and emails, including from the owners themselves, have been a recurring problem. Additionally, there have been cases where the company has claimed to have conducted inspections or completed work, but upon further inquiry, it was discovered that these claims were false. Furthermore, requests for documentation or paperwork related to the work supposedly completed have often gone unanswered. This raises concerns about the company's transparency and accountability. It is important for homeowners, especially those who are out of state, to be aware of these issues and consider seeking alternative roofing companies to ensure a reliable and satisfactory roofing experience.
