I dove with Tyler a few years ago and he was the first one I called when I knew I was coming back again. So happy with him and the way he does business. Great communication and very safe are only a few of his great quality. He is personable and able to understand the diving level of his students and adjust how dives go accordingly. Prices are fair but his service is more like you would expect from an over priced concierge private service. He knows the dive areas very well and can point out things that other groups sail right past and never see. I had the please of diving with Tyler a couple of times while vacationing in Oahu. I also dove with 3 other shops and several dive masters before diving with Tyler and let me say that Tyler is the best! He has a joy for diving that is contagious. I will never forget his reaction when he found a frogfish and shared several enthusiastic "shakas" as he pointed it out to our small group. It was right near the mooring line, but I would bet that 99 others missed this cool critter. His communication is awesome. He sent me text and emails with addresses, recommendations and kept me updated as plans changed due to a tropical storm. Met Tyler several years ago on a boat dive with my brother and then again in February for another boat dive. I'll repost my review from several years ago when he was with another company. If you are a diver and have tons of dives or just a few there isn't a better person to dive with! Tell him your skill level and what it is you want to do and he'll do everything he can to make it happen. I wanted to see turtles and man...they were staked on the reef like they were sleeping on bunk beds. Must have been 4 within 20 or 30 feet. Then after about 10 minutes I lost count. Then after a quick swim he showed me the white tip reef shark lounge ;-) 2 beautiful animals just kick'n it under an overhang. Wow! A true professional of the highest regard. You won't be disappointed. So I don't give out rave reviews very often, but in this instance it is well deserved. Our second time at ****** was on Sunday when we signed up for 2 boat dives, just off of the North Shore. And this is where I witnessed one the most professional Dive Master/Instructors that I have had the opportunity to dive with. Tylyer Silber handled the entire event extremely well, from a late diver who's GPS couldn't navigate to the docks, helping with gear, bringing out snacks after our 1st dive, and to cap it off he had a spare computer when mine got a leak in the hose. He operated as if he had a 6th sense of what everyone was going to ask, do, or have a problem with. His explanation of the dives was spot on and he must have called ahead to let the sea turtles know we were coming because I lost count after 5 on the first dive. I asked him how long he's been doing this and he said for several years, I forget how many dives he said he had. It goes without saying that he is very experienced with this area. Vis was 80+, temps around 75 degrees, and the swells were small and the sky clear blue. If you are on Oahu and dive I strongly recommend scheduling a boat dive with Tyler. Even if you only need some gear for snorkeling or just a couple beach dives, they will hook you up. My thanks for a great job and I will be back and recommend you to anyone I know visiting Oahu! This was our second time diving with Tyler's Oahu Scuba, and Tyler took great care of us both times. We emailed ahead of our trip and he was good about responding with options within a day. Dive groups are small and Tyler gives everyone personal attention to make sure everyone has a great time and stays safe. On our trip, we departed the Kewalo Basin Harbor, a 10-min Uber from our hotel in Waikiki, to dive the Sea Tiger. On the boat ride out, he went over what to expect, equipment & dive signals, and history of the wreck. Tyler also teaches advanced classes and had one dive-master-in-training aboard working toward her certification. Tyler let us know there was an optional swim-through on the deck of the wreck, and as promised, checked with each of us that we were good to go just before entering the deck. Several Oahu wrecks have brief swim-through opportunities that offer a taste of what it would be like to dive a wreck from the inside. If you do this particular swim through, peek down into the lower hold on your way back up to the deck! I happened to be sea-sick, which was unusual for me, but Tyler and Orvil, the photographer who was aboard that day, both took great care of me, getting me into the water quickly and helping me with my fins and tank getting out. Tyler and Orvil helped make sure I had a great dive despite my feeding my breakfast to the fishes. Speaking of Orvil, he's an amazing photographer, but not always available. We were lucky enough to get seats on a dive he was already book on, and he took awesome pics as usual! Tyler's good humor and personal attention ensure a fun and safe dive every time. Wow! Tyler came recommend by the top scuba company in Oahu and I know why. He was so patient with me( the 1st timer diver since certification). Tyler was a wonderful dive guide. We would definitely use him again and recommend him to everyone. He takes small groups so he can be very hands on and present. We hadn't been scuba diving in three years so he gave us a quick little refresher course and made us very comfortable throughout the entirety of both our dives. Tyler took me and my fiancé out for two great dives at Haleiwa trench. We felt safe the entire dive, which had the benefit of Tyler's insight into the area. We saw turtles, nudibranch, trumpet fish, eels and an amazing diversity of sea life. Tyler's Oahu Scuba is quite simply the best shop to dive with on the Island. All over Oahu, there are a lots of cool, laid-back divers and lots of good, clear instructors. But you don't always find both qualities in the same person. You also don't alway find master divers who are incredibly reliable, clear in their communication, and chill and friendly all at the same time. This is what you get with Tyler. Before dives, he reaches out to confirm and communicate the key information of meeting place, time, gear, etc. With new divers, he reviews key safety information, but never comes across as didactic or dogmatic. Underwater, he is safe and helpful, and knows all the secret spots that make diving in Hawaii so damn awesome. A consummate professional and a genuinely cool dude. You might find a cheaper deal with one of the big Waikiki hotel outfits, but you won't have as much fun. I'm sure of it. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

Tyler was courteous and professional. I had problems with equalizing my ear during my second dive. Tyler was very patient with me. Finally I had to give up on the second dive but still had a great experience seeing turtles, trumpet fish and some interesting small creatures. First off, Tyler is a true professional and just a very friendly guy. I booked a refresher dive with him since I wanted to get back into diving, but hadn't been diving in a few years. Tyler was very communicative and accommodating of my schedule. He communicates well through email, phone, and text. As for the actual diving, he went through all the important refresher information and made me feel very comfortable. He took care of all our equipment between dives. In the water, he was always looking around to make sure we were all comfortable, safe, and ok. He pointed out lots of interesting things to see underwater. Very professional and safe. He has divers best interests in the forefront of his mind at all times. We also had a photographer, Orville, with us who was very helpful and took a lot of pictures.
