The condo was older but well-maintained and furnished. Bedrooms were large and comfortable. There was a spacious open living area with a galley kitchen and bar, a separate dining area, and a wrap-around covered balcony. We feel like we made friends with Mermaid Cottages and look forward to seeing them again soon!

The legs are about to fall off!!! As far as the kitchen supplies they are adequate! I would strongly recommend you bringing your own cooking utensils, if possible! Once that happened, they emailed me the rental agreement and some various information for checking in. I emailed the agreement, but you can also fax or mail. Checking in was a breeze. We stopped by at the lady there had enveloped our key and was about to leave, but she gave it to us. She was very nice! Our condo was easy to find and in the PERFECT location... totally beachfront. For the price, it was a very good deal. I also liked it wasn't too far down the island. We were on the second floor, which wasn't bad at all. Our condo was pretty clean, but the floors turned our feet black so I think they may have had a little dirt leftover. The kitchen was stocked with utensils and dishes for some minor cooking. I would recommend this company, but I wasn't 100% impressed. See below for pros and cons! I agreed without hesitation, understanding that unexpected issues can happen. However, after waiting and receiving no email, I called the office at 12:35pm and was told Anthony was at lunch. I continued waiting, and at 1:21pm finally received an email with only one alternative home. My husband and I reviewed it immediately and responded at 1:32pm confirming it would work as we had already tried to find a different accommodation for our family but nothing was available on the island therefore we had no choice. I received no acknowledgment to my response --no call, no email. At 2:28pm, I called again and was placed on hold before being sent to voicemail. I emailed Anthony once more asking for confirmation. By 3:37pm, still no response. At this point, we were supposed to check in at 4pm but had no address, no entry instructions, and no confirmation that we even had a place to stay. I called again and spoke with Erica, who promised a callback within 15 minutes. By 4:27pm, still nothing. When I called back, an older gentleman answered, and the background noise made it difficult to understand him. After explaining the situation, he attempted to transfer me to Anthony. I waited on hold for about two minutes before Anthony finally answered and asked if we were okay with the option he sent--despite multiple calls and emails confirming this hours earlier. He blamed their system for being slow and placed me on hold again to finalize the booking. I waited 55 minutes on hold before he returned with the address and entry code. He offered one insincere apology that felt more sarcastic than genuine, as if assisting us past closing time was an inconvenience to him. At no point were we offered compensation, a discount, or any acknowledgment of the significant disruption to our first day of vacation. We finally entered the home around 5:40pm--frustrated, hungry, and exhausted after a six‑hour drive and an afternoon spent trying to confirm we even had a place to stay. Had there been another available property that could accommodate my family, I would have requested a refund and booked elsewhere. This was by far our worst experience in Tybee Island. I would not recommend this business, and I do not plan to book with them again. This entire experience made the whole trip blah as we were not in the original home we booked close to the beach and had to drive to the beach from the new location as it was much further out and was just nothing like we expected our trip to be.Once we returned home I reached out to Bookings customer service team and told them about the experience we had and requested a refund as I had paid nearly $1500 to not get to stay in a home I had booked. I was emailed back in 48 hours stating the accommodation had agreed to give me a refund of $150. This was a sarcastic gesture and that $150 did not even cover a one day stay that was taken from my vacation due to waiting around for the company to respond to me nor did it cover the amount of money we had to spend on parking due to being moved. I have since responded to that email and asked that either booking or the business make this right. I am hoping that this happens. I have used booking for many years and many of my stays but if this is not made right I will no longer use the booking platform.

I'm scared to think of all the ones we didn't see. No one should have to stress an entire vacation about roaches and taking them home with you. This weekend I flew from Indiana to visit Tybee Island for my future sister in laws Pre-wedding weekend. I have to say ma'am, we were all let down and disappointed. The home owners of the home we rented for the weekend didn't form us about some event called "Orange Crush." We spent thousands of dollars on the weekend and all of our reservations and plans were canceled due to this event. It took us 5 hours to go 12 miles to get back to our rental. The owners basically dismissed us when we brought it up. We missed the future brides dinner reservations in Savannah and all the other reservations we had. We will never get any of that money back. There were people fighting outside of our house, shots fired, people who pulled out guns that were beside us, handles of liquor and people smoking marijuana as they are driving down the road. I saw children who weren't in car seats with adults driving who were doing drugs and drinking. As a former law enforcement officer all of this is appalling to me. Why wouldn't you call in extra help or reinforcements? Why wouldn't the homeowners inform us of this? We were terrified and paid more money to book a hotel in Savannah. We spoke to some locals and they told us you all don't care. This gave me a bad representation of your city and honestly I won't be back. I thought this was a "safer" area but boy was I wrong. Honestly I would be embarrassed and ashamed. People were driving the wrong way and slamming into others. I hope and pray you and other city officials do something about this. We do have the evidence of individuals with machine guns and other weapons. We we're all just pretty bummed we spent so much money to feel so scared.
