Avenue villa surgery is just down the road from the police station and sorting office. It is…read moreclearly visible on a corner. The car park is small and parking here can cause difficulty. The surgery is quite large with an adjoining pharmacy. Service here is ok, the addition of an automated service to book in and make appointments, and an over head screen displaying your name when it is your turn to see the doctor can be a bit impersonal and despite the receptionists best efforts it is difficult for elderly people to understand. Personally I dont like the system. The doctors are good if you see the right one, most of the permanent doctors here are exellent however some of the temporary doctors take little time to listen to concerns and problems before making a diagnosis. On the whole however the surgery is a good one and waiting times are not too long.

Visited A and E with a friend recently. Was shocked at the fact that I had to pay £1.20 for…read moreparking, seems to be taking advantage of the ill. Staff were helpful and treated my friend with concern. The hospital itself seemed clean, tidy and well kept. The doctors explained tests with great detail to put their patients mind at rest.
