If you are a rape victim or a victim of police brutality, or if you have a serious medical condition - especially a genetic condition - avoid 212 Med and go elsewhere.
In July 2017 I went in for severe pain in my shoulder of unknown origin. The doctor completely made up that my body must be growing nerves in my shoulder for the first time ever, which is a medical impossibility. I had to leave with my arm completely numb and paralyzed because he wouldn't take the problem seriously. The next day I found an inch of dried blood down the back of my shoulder from a small puncture wound. Upon filing a complaint, the ER director said they wouldn't charge me and he'd talk to the doctor. Clearly this isn't enough.
2 different doctors in the Ridgeview system told me "We don't treat people like you here," meaning if you have a genetic condition they are discriminating against you and preventing you from getting appropriate care, even basic medical care.
It gets worse. In February 2018 a falsified police report was used to harass me to cover up bank fraud, and the cops busted down my door and beat me then took me to 212 Med. While there I was in a severe PTSD dissociation from previously being raped and beaten by cops, 212 Med's staff used that as an excuse to physically assault me, dislocate multiple joints, strip me in front of a random male watching from the hallway, and give me a concussion. Upon arrival they stripped me while a random male watched earnestly, even though I had been repeatedly begging to not be raped again; this was used as a way to humiliate me a rape victim. After being drugged with multiple meds and screaming for my life as 5 or 6 people held me down and dislocated multiple joints, they left me for about 20 hours without food, water, or bathroom facilities. This triggered symptoms from my known medical conditions, which they have documentation of but are ignorant about. Upon finally being able to use the bathroom, I stood up and lost consciousness causing my head to slam into the concrete floor. Staff picked my up by my wrists that were already dislocated multiple times then dropped my head back onto the floor from a few feet up 2-3 more times while they LAUGHED. After a few days in the hospital I was able to photograph more than 25 bruises, even after several had faded. Months later my knee, which was hit by the cops then dislocated by 212 Med staff, is still trying to heal and the bruises at the edges of my kneecap aren't going away.
I've attempted to contact the ER medical director, but apparently he has been out of the office for weeks. Instead, the nursing manager said what they did was acceptable and I deserved it. She said she knows everything there is to know about my medical conditions (something a lot of doctors lie about, including that doctor in July 2017, when in fact they know absolutely nothing about it) then proceeded to tell me that if my joints were dislocated I wouldn't be able to walk. That statement is 100% proof she knows absolutely nothing about my genetic condition which causes my joints to dislocate easily, frequently, and painfully. When I pointed that out, she said I was wrong even though I've met with multiple doctors who have diagnosed me and informed me, provided me with information, and I've spent thousands of hours researching my diagnoses. So after trying to educate her, she finally admitted that she actually knows nothing about my condition and they aren't required to provide adequate care to people with severe medical conditions they don't want to learn about. She promised me she'd follow through on the complaint and even offered to have me meet with their medical staff to teach them about my condition so they don't kill others like me through their ignorant malpractice, but she hasn't followed through on any of this.
Thus, if you're a rape or sexual assault victim and you show up to 212 Med for help be prepared to be shamed, stripped, physically assaulted, and blamed for what's happened to you. If you have a serious/severe medical condition, especially a genetic condition, and you're ambulanced or taken to 212 Med for medical treatment be ready and prepared to have to walk out after they ignore your symptoms and conditions and instead completely make up false and impossible reasons for what's wrong with you to attempt to cover up their blatant stupidity (ignorance plus an unwillingness to learn when faced with an opportunity equals stupidity). You're more likely to be further harmed, even with lasting damage to your body, by going to 212 Med than going elsewhere. Plus, their staff believes it's hilarious when they purposefully physically harm their patients, such as joint dislocations and concussions. No one who laughs while harming a patient has the right to work in a medical facility, yet management isn't interested in correcting these severe failures of humanity and ethics. read more
