This was by far the most unprofessional experience I've ever had with movers. They arrived unprepared, smoked on my property, and even caused a hole in the wall--which they attempted to cover up until I confronted them. I filed a detailed claim with photos and evidence, yet after two weeks of silence I was hung up on when I followed up by phone. Eventually, I received an email stating they had "no idea" what I was referring to, despite clear proof of the damage.. This was a brand-new apartment with a pre-purchase inspection, and their employees deliberately tried to conceal the damage AND GOT AWAY WITH IT. Do not book this company. They packed 30 of my books in a child's playpen after an emergency move and pack. The playpen was a travel bed and worth $300. The books were textbooks and other expensive reads. the company gave me $300 in hush money and claimed they only refund per pound not per item. Movers broke my 85" TV and didn't even tell me. they put the box in a closet with boxes all in front of it so difficult to get too. They even put the pieces they broke off back into the box. they were just rushing in so fast with boxes and nothing was organized to which room it goes too. Terrible! Quoted 5 - 7 hours - THIS TOOK 13 HOURS! My parents are seniors and hired these guys to move them (only 15 minutes away from their house). They say if they take things apart (beds, etc) they will put everything back together. They took apart the kitchen table top, beds (2 of them). When they got it to the new place they lost the screws to put things back together and just left things undone. When asked if they were going to put it together they accused my parents of not having the proper screws for the table and its their problem. They left the table top hanging there. The 1 guy spent the majority of the time yelling and screaming at the other 2 guys. The 2 guys he was yelling at tuned him out all the while playing on their phones (they get paid by the hour, grrr). The movers came with nothing but the truck - no tools to take apart things, no water to drink for the day, oh and no moving harnesses to move heavy items (the ones each guy wears to move fridges, etc and can have their hands free to guide the object - you see it on the website for this company why didnt they have these?). When it came to moving heavy items they didn't want to move it and used the excuse it was to heavy - a fridge, dresser, a bar that comes apart in 3 pieces??! Within the first 10 minutes they broke glass from a end table. Then the screaming guy decides he is hungry and tells my mom to go get them lunch at A&W and gave a list of what they wanted. My mom being the kind hearted lady she is went & bought them all lunch. THEN when they finally get to the new house he tells us he forgot his burger at the other house and someone needs to go get it for him - can you believe this guy - and no we didn't go get it for him. Walls were damaged, furniture was dropped, TONS of screaming & yelling from the "burger guy." Multiple calls made to the office about what was going on. They finally said they would send a 4th guy to help out. He was AMAZING! He got more done than these 3 doorknobs. But he left - not sure if it was from burger guy yelling orders or he had enough of the crap from this crew. I kept telling him thank you, thank you. We didn't blame him but felt we were more doomed after he left. My parents bed was the last thing off the truck. These guys decided they were too tired and didn't want to put it together. After some pushing to get it done they finished it. Can you imagine leaving seniors without their bed because they are tired?! Then the kicker - when invoicing my parents they had the nerve to ask for a tip. Here's your tip - DON'T BE MOVERS - YOU SUCK! The moving team was pretty good, and certainly friendly. They were very careful with my piano. One light fixture was broken, but they were apologetic and assured me that it will be covered. A couple things like suitcases of clothing ended up in wrong rooms, which I can understand. As a previous review stated, the final bill was far higher than the quote that was given. I was quoted 5-7 hours, after being as thorough as I could be in describing the houses involved in the move. The price quote was a factor in choosing this company. We hired Two Small Men to complete our cross-province move. I selected them initially because their responses were timely, information was clear, price was good, and moving time had our things out to us in just two weeks. I was really pleased. Then, the outsourced our move to another company (which I'm told is common), but somehow that became an excuse for washing their hands of everything I had been promised, including - but not limited to - my 2 week delivery timeline. When the new company called me, I was informed that my delivery would now take nearly a month. Two Small Men took no responsibility for this. We lived in our new house with next to NOTHING for twice the time that we expected to. Delivery dates kept bouncing around, and ended up taking even longer than expected. When I connected with them and requested some compensation for the terrible timelines, I was offered $70. FROM MY $9,000 TOTAL BILL. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. They may fool you with customer service at the beginning, but please know that their follow through is atrocious, customer service as you go is nil, and the whole experience will make an already stressful time abundantly worse. Not to mention, your initial quote will likely be way off the final price. Beyond that, after unpacking we realized that a large box of electronics and music gear was missing, along with an amp. Of course we were past the point where they would do anything, or claim any responsibility for this, so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of things with no opportunity to make a claim. Seeing that it takes time to unpack a multi-bedroom house, if you're in this situation, please unpack as quickly as you can and be really aware of everything you have. They WILL NOT CARE, so be sure to advocate for yourself early. read more

What a terrible moving experience. I would never use these movers again. I didn't realize on top of a move I'd be dealing with incompetent and misogynistic movers by choosing this company. Initial communication was great with the moving coordinators through email. I was given a quote of about $450 for the 3 hours for two movers. In discussion with the coordinator my 1 bedroom apartment + 20 minute travel time between locations should well fall within the 3 hour mark. I would also be charged the $40 for mattress bags that I requested for the 2 bags I would need. (Total of $490). Day of move: I received a phone call 30 minutes prior to the mover arrival time from one of the movers asking if I would take a second mover. I was confused as I thought my original move costs included a second mover, but said I of course needed a second mover. He then said it would cost extra but I was like well I definitely need a second person. He then said it would be $30 extra. I clarified that it was per hour. He said yes. I then said yes I would take the mover. He then confirmed that we would do a third mover at this $30 per hour. At which point I became flustered and asked him to clarify is there two or three movers coming, he said three. I said oh.. but this should help the move to be faster if I do the additional mover at the $30 per hour. He confirmed it should be faster. He then let me know they would be there in about 15-30 minutes. I then received a text from him 15 minutes later (10 minutes prior to my move time) saying that he wanted to correct himself and that the third mover was actually $40 an hour. I said fine as I assumed they were basically at my location based on our phone call. I was annoyed but figured it would have the whole move go faster. The three movers arrived about 45 minutes later. I went down to meet them and could already hear them talking and swearing at the truck, very unprofessional. They then saw me and asked if I was Dayna; I said yes. We then went inside and only one was with me, I assumed the other two would be collecting the items, but then we had to wait for the other two to join us. As we were going upstairs, I clarified with the movers that I only had furniture to move as I had done all the boxes myself the day before. They walked through apartment and after once over they said it should be easy (except maybe the treadmill). The one mover basically threw down the paper work and said sign here. I asked what I was signing and had him explain it to me (something he didn't seem he was originally going to do..) After around 2 hours at the apartment, they took the final load down without saying anything to me but left myself and some straps in the apartment. I assumed they would be coming back up to grab them and to do a final apartment walk through with me to ensure no damage had been done. I waited and lost track of time while cleaning the apartment and finally looked at the clock and realized it had been almost 35-40 minutes since I had last seen them. I then grabbed the straps and went downstairs assuming there must have been truck trouble or something going on.. I walked outside and no truck. They were gone. I immediately called the one contact I had and he let me know they were at the other location waiting for me. I then let them know no one had told me and that I had the straps. It then took me 20 minutes to get over to the new location after that call (time of about an hour; which then obviously put me over the 3 hour mark and in which the rate jumps up). I arrived at the new location to three movers all continuing to act in a way like "oh the dumb girl has arrived". This included a snide remark when I gave some feedback of "Oh better listen to the moving master". They basically dumped my items and then came to me with the bill.. of $965.00!! Basically Double what they had initially quoted and this included an entire hour of nothing! After paying this bill and feeling absolutely terrible, I called customer service to voice my complaint. The last five times that I've used this company they've taken advantage of my good natured spirit as I had 96 boxes when I moved to the house that I was renting-to-own and then when I moved to the place that I rented I lost 36 boxes for a grand total of 60 boxes when I moved to the loft and then when I moved to this space I lost an old Family heirloom trunk that had an autographed picture that was autographed by Bobby Hull which went missing, as well, when I moved to the space I am currently renting they went around and it took them 20 minutes to get to my space as they went around instead of straight to my spot, more than likely dropping the one trunk that I had that went missing and possibly the one picture with Bobby Hull's signature on it all because they didn't like that my Mom didn't tell them that there was more stuff than there actually was as she told them that there was two times less the amount of stuff that she had mentioned to them. Furthermore, if anyone is looking for a moving company, DO NOT USE TWO SMALL MEN WITH BIG HEARTS AS THEY AREN'T TRAINED NOR DO THEY CARE ABOUT ANYONE ELSE'S ITEMS OTHER THAN THEIR OWN. read more

In a nutshell: they just didn't show up for my move and never thought to call me. Avoid this company at all cost. Long-winded version: I had scheduled a move, to include packing services, to start between 9-10 am. At 10:05 am when I hadn't heard from the company, I phoned my dispatcher who said he would get in touch with the moving team and phone me back. By 10:30-10:45 or so, I still hadn't heard back so I called and was told "I can't get in touch with the guys but by gps I can see the truck is somewhere in the nw." Okayyyy. I wait another 30-45 mins with no update and try to call dispatch again to no answer. So I called the office directly. The woman there said she would try to get in touch with dispatch on my behalf and would call me back in ten minutes. Another 30-40 mins passes WITH NO UPDATES. I again have to call and get someone else who answers the phone. To his credit, Jason answered and was understanding and at the very least tried to figure out the problem and he did call me back. (Thank you Jason!) At this point it's close to 1 pm and I now know that the issue was delays from the morning deliveries. The new estimated time of arrival was approximately 2 pm. Keep in mind, I live in a condo so had been charged $160 to have the elevator put into service mode. I had booked the elevator from 12-4 to give the team time to pack first and start loading the truck. It costs $110 for every extra unscheduled hour. At 2 pm, two small men are still not here so I call again. They were apparently "on their way". But by 2:45 pm I still haven't even heard from the team of movers. I have no idea if they are in Calgary or even on this earth. Complete radio silence. I HAD to move this day. For a multitude of reasons it had to be done the day I scheduled (one of which is to have the house set up in time for my elderly mother with cancer to have somewhere to lie down). I had been frantically calling around for a back up option and my (expensive) back up option told me they needed to have a decision by 3. So I called two small men back and cancelled the service to at least have some furniture moved by my back up option. The back up obviously didn't have the ability to provide packing services at such a last minute request, but they went above and beyond and I am incredibly grateful to them. Of course the elevator had to be kept in service for an additional three hours for $330. Two small men with (small) hearts are the worst. If they couldn't have done the job, THEY should have reached out to ME as soon as they were aware of the issue and offered to help me find a solution to their mistake. I am absolutely appalled at this company and can't imagine how they can stay in business if this is their attitude towards their customers. Shocking and disheartening and made this weekend an absolute nightmare of last minute packing and transporting things back and forth in my small car. Learn from my mistake, avoid at all cost, and you will thank me. read more

The movers broke a handmade, expensive piece of furniture despite us repeatedly stressing how delicate it was. One of our items also went missing. The company offered us a small amount for the damage but refused to offer anything for the lost item. Not losing items you're moving seems like it should be pretty fundamental for a moving company. Also not pleased that the movers failed to follow my directions, leading to about 20 minutes of driving around aimlessly. Back a few years ago, my Brother and I ran a Pc repair business in the basement of his house and he was moving to a new house so I came by to help with the move to ensure everything went by smoothly as we had a lot of expensive PC equipment so wanted to make sure it was all packed into the truck right. It was my brother that called them on recommendation of a friend of his, and it was he that had arranged for the move. I took the day off work to help, and the pervious day we had packed everything up in boxes except for a couple bigger items. 2 guys showed up 45mins late, both holding timmies coffee cups. We did not ask them why they were late as we just wanted to get the move over with, as the day was over cast and rain was in the forecast. By brother did not have a lot of furniture in the rest of his house, our main concern was the PC equipment in the basement that was the bulk of the move. We wanted them to start with the rest of the house first and do the basement last. Everything went fine with the rest of the house and they had it packed into the truck in no time with our help. Once the rest of the house was loaded into the truck, the basement was left. It started to rain lightly and so we wanted the PC equipment loaded into the truck as soon as possible to avoid getting it wet. Just as they had started they said they were going to take a break, we understood but mentioned to them that it was raining. They said it would not take long and they hung around the house smoking and on their cell phones. My brother and I decided to start loading some of the euipment ourselves as they took their break. About 20mins later they were done their break and back at it moving. Every time they had a box they would stop and examine it and look at the picture of the product on the box and make a comment about it, which was annoying as we just wanted the stuff loaded in the truck asap and not have to answer their questions about our PC equipment. One of the guys asked if we going to sell any of it and if so he was interested in buying it off of us. We replied that we were not. Still they continued to comment on the different PC, boxes, towers, n and monitors we had as if they had never seen a computer before. One of the movers left a box out on the sidewalk and my brother found it wet with rain water and we couldn't find where the mover went. We went downstairs and they were moving boxes around the basement and we made a comment that there was a box getting wet outside. The mover that left it there said they he went in to help the other guy move something heavy but, we instructed them to leave those for last as they were metal server racks and worry about the boxes first. So we went outside and he lifted the box and it was so wet it almost crumbled in his arms as he loaded it into the truck. Thankfully nothing inside got damaged. They did a good fast job in moving the rest of the house but seemed like once they got to the basement progress slowed as one of the movers continued to examine every box and read the contents of it. Finally we managed to get all the boxes loaded with the heavy equipment loaded in last. We decided to do a final walk through of the house to make sure we did not forget anything and that's when my brother remembered there were 3-4 small boxes in the storage room with computer parts in them, we decided that we would pack them into my brother's car and he would bring them to his new place. We walk outside carrying the boxes and tell the movers that that is it, and they can go to the new house and start to unload. As we start to load those boxes with parts into my brother's car, one of the movers asked what was in them, my brother opened the top and showed him the parts and then the mover asked if we were taking them to recycling and if so he would take them instead. We told him that we needed them and he replied that if we change our minds to let him know as he will take them off our hands. We could not understand what their obsession was with our PC equipment. Back at the new house unloading it was the same, slow to move the pc equipment (commenting on the printers and scanners we had in the original boxes, etc...) but the the rest of the items going into house went fast and smoothly with no comments and /or any questions. Would not be bad if not for that one annoying mover, as they were quick and seemed to know what they were doing, just all the questions and comments slowed things down a bit read more

Don't waste your money or your time with this moving company. Their quotes are way off, expect being quoted an amount and paying at least $300 more. Zero transparency with their pricing. Chances are good your paint will be ruined and your stair cases will be scuffed up. If you have 3 friends (drunk or not)I guarantee they will move your furniture more carefully then this moving company. The moving team was excellent, absolutely top notch! Joe, Chris and Isaiah went above and beyond the two days we had them. Everything was packed carefully and we discovered no damage. But here's what ruined it for us: the final cost of the move was triple what we were quoted. We received four quotes from seemingly reputable moving companies. We went with Two Small Men with Big Hearts based on their quote. We truthfully answered all their questions during the quote including square footage and number of rooms. I believe they had enough information to accurately prepare the quote. I'm convinced they lowballed the quote and then jacked the final bill. I absolutely do not agree with shady business practices like this. When confronted about the amount on the bill, management refused to negotiate and blamed us for providing misinformation during the quote. I do NOT recommend this moving company. Five stars for the moving team. 0 stars for their dishonest billing practices. read more

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!! Used them to move my parents who are in their 70's and they broke their dining room table and damaged their chairs. They made us pay in full (which was over $1,240 more then originally quoted!!). They then told us to file our claim online and after 3 weeks we would receive a cheque. NOT! I received 1 email stating the claim was received and that it would be processed and haven't heard back from them in 2 MONTHS!! So be warned! Bruno made sure the furniture was covered and unscratched and all packed in such a way that all fragile boxes were carefully packed in. Anything that would be damaged by the overnight winter damp and cold were stored in appropriate material as they were going to be outdoors overnight and could be damaged by the damp. I was impressed. I was also amazed by Brandon who worked non stop carrying the heaviest of boxes. He didn't stop for a break. I had wardrobe boxes full with coats and pictures in the bottom that I was kinda worried 2 men would find challenging and Brandon carried the boxes himself on his back. we moved to a condo up one floor without an elevator so all boxes and furniture came up 10 stairs- neither man complained and they both were smiling and happy and really nice men. I have nothing but good words to say and could not have asked for better movers, they were great movers and seemed like great guys. read more

Expect to pay double what they quote. 3. They were totally surprised when I showed up at the unexpected stop. What were their excuses?????? 6. We even make sure to keep our trucks clean and free of dirt so you don't have to clean your items once they arrive." got no response from her in regards to the fact that they stood on my furniture and destroyed it to the point that it is now on it's way to the dump. Her only response to that, as I had asked to be reimbursed for the price of the desk, given the proof that it was destroyed by the movers standing on it, was essentially "I am already being generous by offering you 60cents per pound, the insurance rate, given that we dont cover particle board, so take it or leave it". They print that promise on their website and yet when shown proof that the movers didn't honor that (as I don't know about you but I dont stand on my desks!!), they refuse to stand behind that promise and even acknowledge the issue itself. This company has no sense of customer service (and their after service manager cannot be bothered to pick up a phone, even after she herself promised me that she would call me). You cannot trust this company! During our move, the wall was damaged plus they lost a part of a piece of furniture. We submitted a claim via email within 30 days, to which we got an email from their Service Department, asking us to submit the claim through their website, which we did. Admittedly we were a little slow to do the follow-up, but because we were now outside their "claim window", they refused to honour our claim. Repeated follow up calls to their service manager and customer service department were all ignored. read more

I posted a review on their site - but I very much doubt that it will be posted. All you see their are 5 star ratings - very very misleading!! Essentially, their quote was off by approximately 50% - either their salesmen have no idea what they are quoting or their movers are incompetent. I have moved often and my furniture and boxes sustained more damage in this one move than in all my previous moves combined (still cant explain the boot print on my TV) - with the the hourly rate they charge I would expect far better from supposed "professionals" . I was absolutely astounded by the final bill - what has taken other moving professionals 4.5 to 5 hours to move - took these guys 7.5 hours. When I asked if other customers are as shocked as I was - I was told my reaction is typical - but that I can argue the transaction with management. Yeah Right!! Two small men would have been better sending four small boys they would have done more work. This company refused to wear masks for the corona virus as regulated under the current law and gave multiple excuses for why they were not wearing mask and argued with customer while not wearing mask of their reasoning for not wearing. Boxes that were clearly label for rooms were tossed haphazardly around not placing items in clearly designated rooms this became an argument as well with customer when asked to place them properly. This company is fraudulent and changes contracts half way through with your stuff in the back of the truck as hostage so you have no choice to accept the new terms. When you call to complain resolve issues your are told they will talk to you in 3-5 business days to talk with "after sales manager" which implies you have to pay to get resolution even when the job is not completed. Half my stuff is in one apartment half my stuff is in the new apartment it cost me $600 for me to have half my stuff moved and now im on the line for two apartments. They have now displaced two women a child and a cat wheres the heart? But don't worry they will "resolve" it in 3-5 business days. This company double dips and will write 2 completely independent contracts for one move across the street. Wow gee Thanx very professional. I had already tried to resolve this with the company at the time of the incident and my concerns were not taken seriously and the issues remained unresolved. I do not not trust this company anymore I have already declined any further service from them and I have already hired another company one that takes customers and covid very seriously paying the extra money to a different company to not have to deal with massive amounts of extreme distress every penny will be worth it. Contracted work to sub-par moving company without any disclosure and wont honour deposit refund when no services were used. I contacted Two Small Men as i did my research and read good reviews on July 21st for a move from AB to BC. Walter quoted me 2400 for a 1 bedroom apartment move, and said they were available those dates and the mover would call me. I got a call from Ron stating he was from Two Small Men also that he was super busy and hopefully he could make the date of pickup July 28. He began to complain that he would have to store my things and that he doesn't have time. I ended up calling him back and he answered this time as "Buhler's moving company" and when he realized it was me he was uncomfortable after just stating he was a different company. Due to unforeseen circumstances I was not able to secure my home purchase and asked for a refund of my deposit. That is when Walter proceeded to ask for my bank documents to confirm that and kept asking for personal information such as my realtors contact info , I told him time and time again I was not comfortable disclosing my information to them, especially bank documents. Regardless of that, when i researched and reviewed "Buhler's moving" i realized they had numerous 1-star horrible nightmare reviews of people being double charged without consent, to lost, stolen, late and broken items. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied how I was kept in the dark about the "real movers" and furthermore how i was hounded for personal information and bank documents regarding a home purchase from a moving company, especially not even the moving company that they said. My opinion is that this company should be run out of business. It took them 2 days to get anything done, instead of 1 day they quoted (not that anyone even bothered to assess what had to be moved). They broke 3 different pieces of furniture. When they put the bedroom cabinets in backwards I asked them to reverse them and they said "we move things, we're not decorators" and wouldn't change them! They charged WAY MORE than the "quote" and I had just lost my husband to cancer so was in no condition to take them on. One nasty little twerp told me my frozen food was still in the freezer but after they left when I untaped the freezer I discovered they had put it all in boxes and intermingled them in the midst of about 150 boxes in my basement. I had to find them...fast. And they had the gall to ask for a tip! Actually they didn't ask....they told me I would be tipping them. Calls to the company manager went unanswered.
